Yes...MomtoEli...I have been been shown to me..that I have not yet mastered the English language either. ALthough in the cases that I deal with I doubt in 20 some odd years they have every included the notes of a nutrionist. Mostly slip falls, auto accidents, boat accidents, dog bites, etc. Never really needed a nutrionist or to read through a nutritionist notes.
I believe that I have been corrected about John T as well, and I think it is clear that I am making my round of public apologies, which is about all I can do at this point.
I also am horrible at spelling conveinence...it gets me everytime without spell check...but all and all, I generally receive compliments about my written communication skills and ability to express myself.

Dee- I have to ask....because well I am honeybee- j/k

But what is it with the third person talk?

This is Dee..it's that simple

As far as sharing information....that's Dee

not so Heidi can say Dee was giving out ED advice on the threads and that's against TOS.

I realize that AmyB does it, so is it a little "jab" at her or is this how you normally post. Since we all are chatting here.

A question for you - were the doctors you saw speciailist in eating disorders specifically, or maybe I mean exclusively?
Logging meals and what not might be a technique that some therapists use but I've never been asked to do that either in my inpatient or outpatient treatment. But facilities and therapists definitely differ on philosophies of treatment. I have been treated for bulimia and Eating Disorder- Not otherwise specified, aka EDNOS. Yes, the therapists I have seen are specialists in treating EDs. (it's funny, I always see ED as eating disorder and never even think about Bob Dole! )

Magic I posted some studies that show changes in RMR and T3 levels that are unaccounted for during very low calorie dieting.

Hi HoneyBee!!

My blog has pretty much been defunct. I'm dealing with a knee injury that's been plaguing me since Feb/Mar. Most of my time has been spent on the elliptical lately but I'm going to try to run a 5K this weekend. Hopefully that will go well and I can get back to my running.

Viva, Vi ... ah, never mind

Thanks for the details, and thanks for the address and links, all. Too much coffee, I suppose And hot flashes (turning on the ceiling fan). Geez! I don't mind them in the winter but it's getting too warm out for them now!

There is no actual mechanism described but my thinking is that the decrease is due to epinehprine release creating a relative-type hypoglycemia.
Your thoughts?

oopse sorry missed this

does the change continue with time or diminish so that on treatement 7 or 8 when they are used to the chamber and testing and should be less stressed it goes down?
if so it could be from the increase aerobic oxidation moving the 2carbon molecules all the way to end product thus upping their ATP levels which in turn would activate that glucose storing enzyme we discussed earlier. might be interesting to see it their ketones also drop since ketones are not generated in the cells for export if the 2carbon moluecle can be reacted in to end product.

My Nutritionist and I are going to go over my food journal today and she will help me set up 3 appointments. One with my PCP (whom I've never seen because he's new and because of my insurance is required if I need a referral regarding a mental health issue), two with the Nutritionist, and three with a therapist for my binge/purge eating disorder.

I hate doctors! I hope the therapist can lead me to a better local support system than FA.

Will the real Carly please stand up.

Well it is Friday a good a day as any to finally show myself. I have been lurking for about a week now. Which I admit is not fair to my friend who I followed. Dee did not deserve me just lurking and watching while she did all the work to figure out what was what with KK and you ladies. Instead of standing up and saying.. Hello My Name is Carly I am on KK and Dee is my friend I stood in the shadows and watched for fall out. Guess I am not as good a friend as I thought I was.

Dee I apologize.

Today I am here watching, reading, listening, learning. I won't leave KK just because I am here. I have friends there as well people who I enjoy coffee with every morning and enjoy sharing small successes with.

I could stand here and wave a little white flag to show you I mean no harm but that also is a sign of surrender and I am just not ready to throw in any towels.

So here i am.. Carly.. just plain old Carly.

Oh and for good measure.. SMOOCH.. DRAT it is raining today...

Ya know...I have no idea why Dee talks in the third person...(LOL), just kidding.

The one example, I was imitating what Heidi might say....Dee violated the TOS. But overall, I guess I didn't realize that I did it as much as I do. When I write PA's at work...they insist that they are written third person. But I doubt that's why I do it. Can't answer that.

Carly...good to see you. You don't owe me an apology.

I think you are talking about her response to me. When I said to her that there were alot of things she wasn't aware of and didn't have the background (that we did) because this had been a long process. Dee's response was something like what you posted.

I realized at the time, that she wasn't open to anything we had to say. I think it was just a protective response from her and she wasn't as "Aware" of everything as she thought she was.

It sure seems to me that she is more "Open" now and that everything isn't as "black and white" as she once thought.
