My gosh, Barbara, she sounds so mean in those replies. How in heavens name did people worship her, as they did? Didn't anyone see the ugliness between the lines? ![]() Plus, I'd bet my house that that picture is not her. Hell, I've got twenty year old pictures of myself on my blog as well as up to the minute current ones<-(like that) and there is no QUESTION it is the same person. I mean, she posted pictures of Jaclyn Smith as her, for crying out loud! I've also stated that that after picture of her disturbs me, because it almost looks like a family member of mine.....yikes!

Nancy, The way Kimmer writes and what she says, people believe her because they DESPERATELY need to believe her. That's why they defend her so strongly and attack people that they normally wouldn't attack. They are THAT desperate. If Kimmer is a lie, then so is their dream of losing weight. That's why they also don't believe the health problems related to her diet. They refuse to do it. Man, I have always liked KajanDC and JuliaL...but after reading that...WOW! I have even greater respect. At the time, I was off doing my own thing. I didn't get involved. Were they right, or what?

Aww, Dee. Many, many of us know that feeling. Attention DOES feel good. No shame in admitting that! But, the BEST favor you can do for yourself is to spend a little time reading through the old Kimmer stuff here and evaluating it for yourself, with you eyes and your mind open. |

Sorry to be so late getting back to, was it 2big's question?
There is a hormonal influence over the gluconeogenisis/glycogenolysis that goes on in the liver. Amino acids are classified as eihter glucogenic or ketogenic. The glucogenic ones are: alanine, cysteine, glycine, serine, threonine. Thes are catabolised to form pyruvate or one of the intermediates of the citric acid/krebs cycle. This way we can get ATP quickly inside the cell. The ketogenic ones are:leucine, lysine, phenphenyalanine, tryptophan, and tyrosine. their catbolism creates either acetoacetate or or one of its precursers, acetyl CoA or acetoacetyl CoA. These give us ketone bodies. Leucine and lysine are the only exclusive ketogenic amino acids found in proteins. So, glucagon is a polypeptide hormone secreted by the alpha cells of the pancreas. Glucagon along with epinephrine, cortisol and growth hormone oppose the actions of insulin. Glucagon acts to maintain blood glucose levels by activation of hepatic (liver) glycogenolysis (breaking down glycogen) and gluconeogenesis (making glucose). A decrease in blood glucose is the primary stimulus for glucagon release from the pancreas into the blood, then onto the liver. When we eat a meal with protein we release both glucagon and insulin. The two walk a tightrope to keep us from overshooting either way. They are both essentually turning on and off as needed. When epinephrine is released during stressful situations, glucagon is the primary hormone released. Insulin is in fact suppressed. So, if we are stressed while dieting and exercising we are primarily releasing glucagon. What is glucagon's effect on carb metabolism? There is an immediate increase of blood glucose from breaking down glycogen from the liver not muscle, and an increase in gluconeogenesis in the liver. What is the effect on fat metabolism? Glucagon favors the hepatic oxidation of fatty acids and the end result is ketone bodies. Lipolytic (fat breakdown) effect of glucagon in humans is limited. What is the effect on protein metabolism? Glucagon increases the uptake of amino acids by the liver, resulting in increased availabilty of carbon for gluconeogenesis. Did I answer the question? Lauren |

Dee,
Some may've have already suggested this to you, so I apologize if it's a repeat. You might want to read this reader's digest condensed version of the scam that is KK: http://www.3fatchicks.com/Diets/Diet...f_a_Diet_Scam/ Also, this just occurred to me: Have you ever been warned or seen anyone warned by Kimmer about the Ducks? She always says that we're mean, nasty, and just a bunch of jealous haters. Aren't you now finding out that's not true? What else has she lied to you about, then?? |

Does anyone have a current copy of KK's TOS? I know for awhile there, Heidi was changing them almost daily to justify the bannings~ Might be nice for Dee to know if she's in any danger of following down that same road~

see I got all that BUT the enzyme needed for converting said glucose to glycogen ( that is a group of 6 glucose with a P molegules for those not knowing) ) is deactivated while glucose "burning" is going on so how does the liver fracturing amino acids in glucogenesis triggered by the low blood gluocse levels hormone glucagon allow glucose made by the liver during this process to replenish our glycogen stores as you said in the first post? |
