When asking about my stall... I was told to CUT OUT pork (I'd had a lean trimmed pork roast).

My thoughts... if Kimkins changes or backpeddals anymore, then I believe that maybe the Atkins corporation and/or South Beach or Mediteranian or Hampton's diets should be looking for purgury.

What MADE it Kimkins and different from the rest was the lack of fat and the low cal aspect that "naturally" came with it (attributed to natural ketosis as an appetite supressant). Heidi was very clear that if you decided to incorporate added fat into your diet then it should be no more than 2 tbls a day. 2 tbls, measured not heaping, of LIGHT mayo or LIGHT salad dressing never both in the same day... Use cooking spray instead of butter or oil to save on fat calories...

Not made up... not taken to extremes. Followed as instructed.

YAWN!!!!! Your PM/e-mails ARE NOT part of the Kimkins plan on the site! I always used butter and EVOO to make my recipes work, which are part of the guidelines at Kimkins. That was private converstion between you and Kimmer...it'e members never read that!

Purgury?
What is that?

Just because the Mayo Clinic states that lean is 3 g or less of fat per serving does not mean that is what she (Kimmer) meant
Then Kimmer should have noted this when she was reviewing fitdays and making comments to the members. Instead of telling members to cut out the fat and calories they had in their coffee with cream.

If Heidi (Kimmer) knew that she meant something different, then she has a responsibility to comment and expand on the definition of what her "lean" protein means.

This is no different than a company who doesn't put the correct directions on a product's use or the wording is ambiguous, then the company has a responsibility to recognize the problem when it is brought to their attention.

Good Morning Mayberry and HoneyBee
YOu know what I think? When things get too hot for Heidi to deal with she sends someone in to devert the attention. So I guess the "project " of the week worries Heidi enough to be here so early.
I love when Heidi and her crew feel the heat.

Today's weather forecast for Corona, Ca:

Mostly sunny, high of 88.

Yeah, if Heidi isn't feeling the heat from FWK, she'll be feeling the heat from the weather out there.

Goose is LC right?

Chicken & Turkey

* Choose any fresh or frozen poultry that is not breaded
* Remove the skin before cooking
* White meat is lower in fat, but dark meat is fine
* Rotisserie chicken may be allowed, beware of injected marinades
* Duck and goose are fatty choices, enjoy as a rare treat and remove skin

Aww, c'mon Jo!

I really don't think CB (Heidi) could eat Duck, even as a rare treat.

I suspect it would upset her tummy.

So I am going to do atkins and just not eat all the bacon in the store..the book never says that...I just wanted to hear that.
Dee..ya wanna try atkins?
The thing I love about Atkins, and so does TT, who used to be PR Rep for Kimkins, is that it is so satisfying. And I love the way ketosis cuts down on your appetite. But I also love the fact that I am not afraid to cook with plenty of oil, can eat my BBQ chicken wings WITH the skin on AND dip them in full fat bleu cheese dressing. And the best of all is that Atkins had an ENTIRE plan. Stillman didn't. KK doesn't. The Atkins plan takes you from induction (only 2 wks) to OWL (ongoing weight loss) and all the way to maintenance. Shoot, there is an Atkins Life Plan book! I believe in the following:

1. Dieting does not really work, especially if it's a vlcd. There are no instructions on how to maintain, and that's the killer. Losing the weight was always easier for me than maintaining. Barry Groves' book Healthy and Natural Weight Loss is wonderful. Did you know that the heart PREFERS fat as an energy source? What I never got before (jerk!) is that Atkins has to be a way of life, not a diet. I also have great respect for Protein Power. For all of these, though, you MUST read the book. I have read Atkins 1972 6 times.
2. After a vlcd, if you put back the weight, it is likely fat you are putting on. More fat cells.
3. Atkins never gave you calorie limits, just said eat to be satiated, but do not stuff yourself. KK has gotten much more careful since the lawsuit, but I have gone through some of her posts here and have seen some of her Kimkins site replies reposted here. She always comes back with the WLS thing - and she equates BODY fat with dietary fat. She has said that a million times, I would bet. But dietary fat is meant to be nutritious and sustain you.

And she has picked apart people's diets when they stalled on KK and told them to skip the tsp of cream in their coffee, or drop the cheese, and all kinds of ridiculous [and dangerous] things. If all you want to do is see the scale go down, yes - you will lose weight fast if you starve yourself. The concentration camps proved that. But even after you have lost the weight, you will not be able to keep that loss. Because the body can only go for so long thing that famine is there. Then, of course binge eating happens.

Call me a sucker or whatever..
But I swear I feel that Dee is trying to talk herself into leaving KK. I could be wrong. She has not told me or anyone else that. But I feel it in her post.
Dee has to see that if she can eat awesome foods like Cleo does and still lose as much as on KK..why would she not be interested?
It is no secret that Dee and I have Had heated battles...but I sense a Come around.
Anyone else get that feeling?

Terry.Yup. I enjoy trolls and even more, enjoy watching fake trolls (another name for misplaced loyalty) get a glimmer of the core issues and, kicking and screaming, drag themselves into the feathery ranks. Education is a wonderful thing. Sometimes just posting Atkins info smacks Kimkins upside the head and the trolls are faced with time-tested directions from a genuine doctor versus the (very!) shortterm results from an acquired eating disorder, and maybe the lifetime results from starvation. I think such info is muchly on topic, eh?

Drakette sends this little hint about Vegas from the Kimpound

XXXXXXXXXX - Been wondering where you've been hiding yourself! You're still in the Challenge, but don't press yourself. Do what your doc says and we'll still be here. Two jobs? My goodness you're a busy gal!!! For sure we'll catch up in Vegas. Need to go post in the Vegas thread. xxxxxxx says airfares are sky high right now, but I heard on MSNBC that the Vegas hotels will be having 'wars' soon because the higher travel costs are cutting in their reservations and business. Crossing fingers!
Perhaps when she returns from Curves, Crispy could enlighten us on whether she actually plans to go to Las Vegas or not?

I think you should go, CB!!! I've heard the International Sockmakers Convention is a total PAR-tay!!!
