v--not nebulous about it. I've said it before. The post concerned my LAPBAND surgery. It was insinuated (or questioned is probably the better word) that I lost the weight with the LAPBAND vs. KK. I've said...I paid cash for a LAPBAND that failed because my body rejected it. I paid cash to have it removed. The same people that questioned how I lost the weight, also wanted to say that of course you'd lose on KK, it's a starvation diet. I'm not starving and I don't have the LAPBAND.

T--Kimmers admitted that she lied. Do I feel scammed? No...first, I've said before...the entire weight loss industry has lied to me...Repeatedly. Kimmers delivered to me exactly what was promised. A food plan and support. Advertisers lie to us repeatedly...just watch any commercial on TV..to be sexy you must drive this or that. She set up a business to make money. What she was selling works for me. Thin at any cost. NO! It's why I monitor what is going on in my body. With a physician. If he and I are wrong....well, my and my WLS surgeon were wrong too. 3 surgeries later (and complications) here I am. Did she prey on overweight individuals who would have emotions that got caught up in finding the "answer"...if she did...then the entire weight loss industry did the same thing. I've been promised rock hard abs in 8 minutes a day...NOT. I have been promised...this pill..no diet no exercise...NOT.

Wifezilla--I don't believe that I have defended KIMMERS out here. I believe I have defended my right to choose the KK plan. Do I think KIMMERS deserves what has been doled out to her out here. No...no one deserves to read this kinda stuff...not facts...but just nasties directed at her. KIMMERS doesn't need a smalltown girl from Hicktown, Ohio to defend her. She will choose her own battles and fight them on her own...I guess. My defense is for my right not to be ridiculed and bullied over a choice that I as an adult am making.

As far as respect, maybe you don't respect my choice to follow KK. But, what I'm talking about here is basic human respect. Perhaps, respect is not the right word..again, I thought I communicated pretty good. Maybe it is just purely human compassion.

i don't know you or have anything to do with the other stuff in your post so i won't address any of that, but i did want to address this part since i'm the one that made the first comment on delaney's pic.

it was not a slam against delaney's weight in any way...rather, it's an observation of how she continually takes pics on an upward angle to make her face appear thinner. i commented on that because i see that as another example of how misleading kimmer's weight loss "success stories" are sometimes portrayed. (btw, lots of people are capable of taking their own picture looking straight ahead)

further comments of how creepy those pics look only demonstrate the irony of how something so "positive" to one can backfire when it comes to others' perceptions. i'm sure she thinks they are great pics of her--clearly others disagree.

anyway...my bottom line is:

as a lady who is trying to lose weight...i wish delaney the best of luck for healthy success

but as the kimkins PR person who is touting herself as an example of a kimkins success story who is using 'misleading' pictures as 'proof' of the program's success...there is little, if any mercy shown here.

My only request - if I was allowed one - would be for you to keep digging. Please, I would love for you to prove me wrong. Prove to me that Heidi is sincere in her apology. Prove to me that there never were any references to laxatives. Scour the blogs, see what things have been said, and tell me this whole thing is just a silly misunderstanding and Kimkins is just great.

Prove to me the woman you are supporting is a kind and loving individual and her business is all on the up and up.

Since I posted the stuff about Kimmer's BD I guess I'll try to explain why.

Kimmer promises support, but it's really all about her. The post was supposed to be about the success stories but it merged into being a "see how fabulous I am because it's my birthday" kind of thing. Why isn't Kimmer honest enough to talk about the former success stories that are no longer successful because they have major health problems? Seriously, ask yourself that question.

For whatever reason you aren't able to see that what we're really about here is compassion for those who aren't in the know about all this. I was right where you are at one time, Dee. I would come over here and read and wonder WTH they were talking about! But, little by little I began to understand and see the truth. Sure, we get silly, maybe snarky at times. But the Kimmer and those who are knowingly helping her perpetrate a fraud deserve no respect, no kindness and no compassion. They HAVE none for anyone. It's all about the money.

So, you can take this at face value or not. I'm a very sincere person. I will tell you that I've never searched you out or addressed you in any way any where until this post. I hope you are well. I hope you and your doctor have worked out a plan that will work for you and maintain your health.

BTW....since any low carb site is about support....I'll share something with you that was shared with me. The NUWAVE oven. May want to check it out. Goes perfectly with a low carb diet. (See I actually like to share valuable information--or at least something that was valuable for me. I would much more prefer to share low carbing tips than hurl insults & mud sling--doesn't really matter if you are counting 20 carbs or 200 carbs, we can all benefit by shared tips.) Who knows....maybe someone will share something meaningful with me. (but I guess I better not hold my breath).

It is easy to try and make a hasty generalization based on your perception of one thread, but you might want to venture out into other forums where everyone here is involved with supporting members and helping others by paying it forward.

This thread is limited to one topic and one only: The fraudulent business practices of an online diet. If you are here looking for camraderie and a jolly good time, you'll find you've stumbled into a hard-working activism group: not new best friends.

Your review of the oven you slipped in, as an example, would be fantastic in the cooking forums or on the main lobby thread!

So, if you feel lcf is a horrible board based on an activist's forum where--let's face it-- activists are very focussed on one purpose (here it is consumer activism and not debating people who take issue with consumer activism), why not do your part to make lowcarbfriends better? Everyone can make a difference, if this is what you perceive the problem to be.

I'll see you around the forums, especially as this one seems to be agitating you.

A woman (heidi) who was overweight (see PI pics for proof) cultivated a large following here on this support board for her special way of eating by LYING to those followers that she lost 200 lbs doing it and kept it off when she had never lost the weight at all (see conversations with family members which can be found in the back threads). She also told those people that she was a foster mother, helped the blind, worked in a homeless shelter and taught english to underpriviledged women in order to garner more adulation. You just have to read the Ask Kimmer thread to see all "oh kimmer you are so wonderful" posts.

While she helped the people who agreed with her or fawned over her, the people that disagreed with her here were censored, warned, had posts deleted and generally bullied by her and her followers until they just left. Even if you were a supporter, she would still say nasty things to you if you weren't doing her plan right (just ask ixtapacheryl about that).

Fast forward a couple of years to her web business - she made over a million dollars in the one month after her fake magazine article came out, all the while living on disability and claiming she had foster children (if you don't know about the foster children situation - well that can be found somewhere in the past here too).

Then a dedicated group of people who had been searching for the truth finally started finding it. Her pictures were fake, her success stories were fake, her weight loss was fake, her niceness was fake. All over the message boards are proof of that (just ask AmyB and JustKim what happens to friends that start to question her).

A few people had been banned from kk for questioning either in PMs or on other boards (like here) whether heidi had lost the weight (just ask Cutie, Kiki, and Ixtapacheryl about that). Then when the PI pictures came out - the bannings began in full force. People who had joined KK after the magazine article (like me) who had no background from here with her were caught unaware and asked questions. Guess what happened? We were banned from our lifetime membership at KK. I asked about maintenance because I was worried that my weight loss would not be sustainable. I felt betrayed because I could see that heidi had not been able to maintain her loss (which later it turned out there was no loss) and there had been no maintenance plan given to us yet. I have since found my answer - it can't be maintained (just ask me, MissMerize, Deni, and even Tippy is struggling, I'm sure there are others too).

In the end, a very brave person (Jeanessa) decided enough lies had been told and people scammed that she was going to do something about it. A great lawyer was found to take the case and as everyone knows it is ongoing today. If not for her and the other principals, a woman who is a known scam artist who has done jail time for her scams (you will have to search the back threads here, but the story is there straight from the mouth of her family) would not be answering for her fraud. It is not about the money because I frankly don't know if I will get my money back from this lawsuit or not, but I am in it anyway.

Whether or not anyone chooses to follow the diet is completely up to them. I wish people would find a better way that can be maintained in the long run, but I don't really expect to be the poster child for giving diet advice (now Cleo - that's another story GO CLEO!!) But when someone knows the truth about a person and the truth is that the person is a fraud and scam artist and still chooses to support that person and their fraud, well the ducks will have something to say about it.

There are a lot of places to go to get support for whatever WOE that a person chooses to follow. Fraud should NEVER BE SUPPORTED in my opinion and to stay at kk, knowing about the fraud, just gives legitimacy to someone and something that is for lack of any better word - FRAUD.

That in so many words is what this is all about.

All I did was state I have not read her posts before and hence not involved in any past Dee stuff and simply made some points regarding her support for a diet with serious concerns and addressed them (particularly in regards to minors) which she chose to ignore *shrug*

And Dee, in regards to her admitting to lying prior, then what about her imo very obvious photochopping of her progress photos that she published at the time of her so called "apology" and since. How can she be sincere when doing that crap and thus STILL deceiving her members?
