I don't want to get started, but it seems to me that for decades and decades, we have been shoving the low fat/low cal idea at people and IT DOES NOT WORK. We have created a world where Diabetes is being found in younger and younger children. It is carbohydrates that make you fat, not fat. We have a society that creates obesity through its ignorance, and then treat the obese as if it is their fault.

And it was clear from what she wrote about her family and how her friends tried to help her that that was far from the truth. Can the desire to be thin really distort your way of thinking that much? I guess it can.

Every single thing she did somehow led back to her ED. Even something so ordinary as shopping for clothes with her mother set her into a panic because she didn't want her mother to see what size she was wearing. And having a meal with someone was a huge deal for her because she was worried about how many calories would be absorbed into her system before she could get home and purge. I have to imagine that all those fashion models are living the same life. There's no way they could look like that and NOT be doing similar things. Yes, it is a terrible example for society.

Lou, ED is a mental illness....your perception is completely off from what a "normal" person's would be

Of course you want people to respect your personal decision in how to lose weight. I am sure anorexics want people to respect the fact that they don't want to eat.
On the subject of respect, what about respecting the MANY people who were scammed and defrauded out of money and, worse, good health.

No body is bashing the LAPBAND or the surgeon to just try to "save" one person.
No? Well, maybe you should or at least be a voice that may "save that one person" if you had side-effects or want to warn others to the downsides.

But please consider this-
  • When you first had your surgery were you happy with the outcome at first?
  • Was it later on that you had side-effects from the WOE that goes along with a LAPBAND?
  • Do you wish you had known from others, that they had experienced some of the same problems that you did, before you had the surgery?
  • Knowing the downsides would you have chosen not to have had the surgery and saved the $17,000?
You have compared cost of the LAPBAND to the cost of your KK membership as if Kimkins is a deal.
Kimkins may only cost you $60.00 out of the wallet, but the negative long term consequences doesn't make Kimkins a deal in this comparison.

One's good health is priceless.

As far as starvation, far from. If I'm hungry I eat. I just chose not to eat carbs. My choice.
Some of you guys sound sincere, like folks that I'd like to agree to disagree with about KK and possible share some of the ups and downs of this journey with.
Others appear to just want to be sarcastic, etc with me. I guess I don't need to worry about it. I don't have to return here if I choose not to, it's just if folks are going to be talking about me on the internet forums. I'd like it to be the truth, not their made up version about my LAPBAND surgery. For the record, it's still a bit of a touchy subject for me, only because rather than $60 for a website membership, it cost me $17,000 of my own hard earned dollars. No body is bashing the LAPBAND or the surgeon to just try to "save" one person.
And there is the smart comment about "hey tell me what the drug was ...I'll start my own website and charge folks for it.". How cold hearted are you? This is something that is important to me. This is something that works for me. So it's not for you.....move on. Are those things said out of ignorance or is it purposely to try to hurt someone. I've done a lot of things, but I don't set out to hurt someone.
AND...I really have to laugh at the MOLE, emailing someone out here with KK information. We know there are moles in the site. LOL. But, I have told this person the same thing. After I posted at another site with my email address, I got some emails and it appears that there are folks out here...following the "gang", that would prefer to no longer be collaterol damage and get back to the business of losing weight.
Oh well....my sincerest wish that everyone out here finds their own way. I wish you much health and happiness. Seems like the only thing that anyone is wishing for me is poor health...to further their cause... so be it.
Give it up Dee ... nobody said that, nor did anyone imply that. What has been said here has extended you a great deal of courtesy and well wishes.

You don't want people to RESPECT your WOE ... you want people to EMBRACE it. And that simply ain't going to happen. I don't believe a single person here wishes for you to get ill, but most of us fear that you will, regardless of your protestations to that possibility. There are plent of others who held the same position you do now who shortly thereafter learn much differently. I pray you are the exception. I doubt you will be though. And if that doubt makes me mean, well ... what can I say?

He also loves to get in the bathtub and watch the water run.

Oh just look at that handsome little man!

Just chiming in with a couple of points here....

You know Dee, sometimes when I read what you've written I think the same thing about you. But, you have chosen to align yourself with someone who has lied, scammed people out of their hard earned money with complete disregard for the health effects it caused them and has committed fraud on the level that will most likely result in criminal prosecution. You have embraced her ways and have vilified the posters here as being mean, petty and small minded. No, those may not have been your exact words but that's the message that your posts here and on AmyB's blog have portrayed. You even went so far as to say that we were all doing this because of a smug look on Heidi's face. Do you think that's respectful? Your disregard for Heidi Diaz's smutty business practices would make it impossible for me to share any kind of a journey with you because honesty and integrity apparently are not terribly important to you, judging by the company you have chosen to keep.

Just as the lapband procedure is a touchy subject for you, Kimkins is a touchy subject for alot of people and people often use humor to lighten the intense feelings associated with it. It was a joke. So to quote your words..."if it's not for you...move on."

Dee, it is simply not true that anyone here wishes you harm. Over and over again we have wished that you will continue to have success and health, and be able to keep the weight off but the odds are that isn't going to happen. At least not on Kimkins....or on any other crazy crash diet. Just because someone says they don't believe you will continue to have good success and health on the kimkins diet doesn't mean that they wish that to be the outcome.

As I said in an earlier post, I take exception to most of what you have said both here and on AmyB's blog. But, I wish you well and I hope that you don't suffer the ill effects or rebound weight gain that is almost sure to happen after a starvation diet like Kimkins.

I just can not help to think that when the "oh you want us sick" card is played it is to take the heat off the topic. IF and I do mean IF we wanted people sick..then it would be easeier to just stand back and watch and wait and them...take action. Cause ya know there are people who will end up sick or even worse.
I swear I know these people do not really think we WANT them sick. It is said just for shock value.

Oh, I love that guy!
Did you see the show recently where the Chef was deciding who was going to leave and the guys who were up on the chopping block, were saying why they should stay.

One guy said- I had a bad night, but I can do better and from now on I am going to give 110 percent.

The next guy said- I'm not good with percentages, but whatever is higher than what he said.

I kid you not!

LOL, my blog is still a mess. Apparently the page numbers are all messed up, and when I just put in a specific search term, it took me to the page it was on the first time I tried loading the thing on.

I got the blog roll back up at least.

I need to do like a bazillion posts this week to disguise the stuff that needs to shuffle back into place.

I know that grinding your flaxseeds fresh to use them is recommended. I just don't usually feel like it. Coffee...oh yeah I will grind that fresh! But I'd have to buy another grinder just for the flaxseeds.

Personally I chose a while ago to avoid flax because of the phytoestrogen and goitrogen properties. For a while I used the oil and also used to eat them everyday as cereal, cheesecake bases and muffins but decided against cooking them eventually because if they are so fragile then how is cooking in a hot oven going to be any different? Then after that I thought buying mixes with flax seed thats already grounded is probably not any better either and then after finding out I had a goiter I stopped altogether.

I find I feel more benefits taking fish oil. e.g. I notice pretty quickly that it improves my circulation where as flax doesn't seem to have the same effect, and I used to take around 40mls of flax oil a day

It was a regular google search - and it looks right on google, but then you click on the post and it is something all together different.

I had the same problem with viddler this week, I made some video, had to pull it to edit, and when it got reloaded google is still directing to the old vid which does not exist anymore.

Just says "it doesn't exist" but looks like I did something bad. Even worse - the vid is now on the first page of results I wanted.

LOLOLOLOL

Now I have definitely learned some lessons.

I'll give you all a discount on the ebook for seo.
