I still haven't gotten it, not even in my spam folder. Maybe my virus detection killed it.

I got it~ it was in my hotmail spam folder~ I haven't posted more than a few times at Jimmy's and that was months ago~ tried to read there a couple of days ago~ got the error and site down message. Have no idea why I was one of the 'chosen ones' but I was never a member of KK~

But Kat makes a very salient point. Jimmy's discussion board is *free*. He does run ads on his website, but to the best of my knowledge, there's no mention of PayPal on either site -- someone correct me if I'm wrong about that.

However, Jimmy *was* a K-kins affiliate. That means Heidi *does* know his PayPal email address, because that's how she paid him.

It's entirely possible he just used his main email address for PayPal, of course, which is why it's good to establish a secondary account for stuff like that. But many people use PayPal -- so far as I know, Jimmy was the only one who had his PayPal account hit.

Interesting.
Lisa, doesn't he have some things for sale? I'm thinking maybe some LC food products and maybe a book? Does he accept Paypal for those?

I'm a member, logged on day before yesterday, didn't post, though, and did NOT get the email. Now that I think of it, though, I may have not updated my email address over there, so it may have been sent to a defunct address.

If anyone has the virus in quarantine (it would be in your virus trapping software) or if you have the offending email still in your email box, somehow you need to get that very important evidence to Jimmy. However, you don't want to just send it to him by forwarding email (you don't want to be sending a virus). Instead, contact him first and ask him to inquire of his security consultant if he (or she) would like to get it. If he does want it for investigation work, then they will be able to tell you how to handle it, so they can receive and examine it. The reason having that virus-laden email is important is because that virus will enable an investigative effort to discover where the personal information, which the virus was intending to be collecting from you, is going to be sent. I once had several viruses analyzed and I was able to track down the exact location of a hacking operation. In my situation, all I could do was turn that info over to an interpol-like task force investigating international cyber crime, because all of the data (in the one I discovered) was being sent to a location in Asia.

But, in this case, those doing the Jimmy investigation would be one giant step closer to solving the mystery, if they knew where collected data was being sent.

Try not to worry about it - on here, we tend to overlook little mistakes like that, and if we can understand what you're trying to say, it's fine.

I know, that doesn't really help you deal with your internal feelings about making a grammar mistake though...

I got the BlueMountain email, which I find odd, since I don't post much, only when I see something that makes me go hmmmm and none of the other ducks have picked up on it. I didn't open it, just deleted it.

I did not get the email from Jimmy's site. I had never been a member at KK or his site. I don't know if this helps or muddies things up.

To answer Jeanessa's question about a bot being able to do all that happened at Jimmy's site. No, a bot wouldn't be intelligent enough to do all that and with the identities of the admins that were picked to log on and post, I suspect this was someone who knew what they were doing to stir trouble. An anonymous hacker wouldn't know which admin acounts to ban, which one's to post under to stir trouble, etc.

I agree with you, Catzrule. I don't buy that it is a random act, and I'm at a loss as to why samredman seems intent on convincing us it is so ... and that he lives in Dallas

I got the email, too. I never log out of his site, so I know I was still logged in. I completely deleted the email account it was sent to. That email account was mostly for health and weight loss issues. I have found it's simpler to divide up my email accounts into categories. This way, if I'm busy, I can just check the "important" ones. So all I really got at that address was health newsletters and stuff like that.

Only friends and family get my "real" email. lol

Well, I still haven't received the e-mail. It is very curious as to how it was decided that some members would get it, and some would not. The only thing I can figure out is that either my server detected the virus and didn't send it to me, or my anti-virus software deleted it as it was coming in. Either that, or I didn't get one at all.

I didnt' get the blue mountain one. So either hotmail caught it and tossed it out, or it was only sent to specific people... or its' unrelated to this.... Or was it intended to look like it was sent from Jimmy's site?

My mind is open. I'd love to hear his why.

I also would love to hear him answer the question Prudentia asked him on her blog:

Sam, have you had any contact with Heidi Diaz - direct or otherwise?

Magic,

Many e-mail services will send a file like that right to the trash heap. I didn't get it even in my Spam folder. I also have some pretty decent filters set up so that I don't have to bother with some of that junk!

I got tired of the emails promising to enlarge my p$n&s

Thanks for the concern.

I drove to work in a thunderstorm this morning. Can you believe we are supposed to get snow on Saturday?

It would have been perfect weather for staying home and posting on Jimmy's forum. Guess I will have to spend most of my time here now.

I'm not one to jump to conclusions in a case like this. But I do have a question: Would a random hacker take the time and care to make comments like Jimmy mentioned - about not doing low-carb anymore, and everyone needs carbs, etc.? As if to discredit him? Or is this a common hacker practice?
