If you are superbanned, you just need to use a proxy. Heidi is employing IP blocking.

Bombing the site with posts is also no longer effective, except to reach email subscribers and anyone who happens to see the posts before an admin reads one. Seems they have some sort of new tech to quickly remove all recent post from a given member. No more extensive clean up jobs necessary, unfortunately.

I just wanted to post a quick hi to everyone. I have been a member for years but I mostly lurk. I wanted to try Kimkins but I was never able to stick with it, thankfully. I have been reading about the scam, it is very fascinating. I am on thread 15 post number 74. I just might catch up this week.

Again, I noticed when I did Atkins, the results were real and my food cravings went away. This has never happened on any other plan. (WW makes me want to eat more). But induction was too severe. I think I functioned best when I had small amount of fruit (berries, citrus, melon, apple) in morning and once in afternoon. Then everything else meat, veggies, nuts, small amts of cheese/butter/olive oil. I seem to be most allergic to the items I most crave (corn, wheat, milk).
When you look at low-carb it makes sense. I have never wanted to binge on vegetables, meat, real nuts or fruit. You guys have an intersesting thread going. I enjoy reading it. Please let me know what you have been successful with and anyone who has long-term success with low-carbing.
Hi there. I have done Atkins several times. The thing about a low-carb diet, from my own experience, is that it must be a lifetime change. Yes, you will definitely gain it back if you go back to how you were eating before, and carbing it up. BUT, you will gain it back no matter what diet you were on, if you go back to your old way of eating and gaining.

Perhaps you might consider Protein Power or South Beach, neither of which have an induction period. Good luck with whatever you choose. It has to be something that works right for you.

Well, let's see. I've been low-carbing since last June. I started out with about 100 lbs. to lose and have lost a little over 50 lbs. so far. I started doing Kimkins because I didn't know any better. Lost some hair, had some dizzy spells and switched to Protein Power. The Eades talk a lot about the paleolithic underpinnings for their plan and I highly recommend their book. It has three levels of dieting so you can do it and not be quite as strict as Atkins induction. It all depends on how quickly you want to lose, and other personal preferences.

Learning to live low-carb is about on-going education. It's not about just dieting for a while. Since you have food allergies, I assume you are looking for a plan you can live with for life, not just to take off the weight.

Other things that have helped me: The support I find here, not just in the fascination threads but in the main lobby as well. Lots of long-term LC'ers there like Fawn and LindaSue who are always willing to help. Walking 30 minutes per day (2-2.5 miles) helps me not to be insulin resistant. I sleep better and have tons more energy doing low carb. A good vitamin regimine is important. The Eades book - Protein Power - has some excellent recommendations. LC eating can cause muscle cramps due to lower levels of potassium and magnesium in some people. Staying hydrated is very important! And, keep a food journal so you know what and how much your'e eating. The Daily Plate is excellent and the free version is all you need! Some people only keep up with their carbs, but I find it useful to keep up with everything or else I can go overboard. Also, it helps you make certain that you are eating enough! It's easy to go too low on calories and protein eating LC because your appetite will decrease, sometimes dramatically.

Oh, and the bad news is, people eating LC can experience long stalls in weightloss despite following their plan correctly. Knowing this going in can help you not to become discouraged. And, if you find yourself in that situation, lots of people here will have suggestions to help you get through it.
Great post, Mayberry!

SMP,

I thought Melt might be Heidi as well until Truth confirmed her real identity several months ago. At the time I was embroiled with Melt, I wasn't really confronting Heidi openly, just encouraging others to eat a bit more. If I had really realized everything about Heidi-kins at the time, I probably would've gotten banned for telling Melt exactly what I thought of her. Alas, I had to wait to go to banned camp after using an alternate image of Lesya as my avatar.
Did you really? You are bad. Very, very bad.

From the Kimpound...man, these people are going to pay an arm and a leg if they wait until June to book and if there is a conference there too...well....

Kimkins Las Vegas Meet & Greet 38 Minutes ago Cliffismymaster, thanks for keeping the running tally and "welcome" to LoriD and Melissa! It's only April and I'll bet in June there will be a basket full of excellent travel deals, especially to Vegas! I think someone said there is a BBW conference being held the same weekend, but I don't know where or details.

I'm going to make a note of who want s roommates. Check with the person you're interested in sharing with and work out the details.

Melissa, thanks for the tip on economical places. I'm all about economy, but I'm nervous about taking shuttles. I was born with no sense of direction and although I'm great with freeways ... it's the small directions that totally mess me up. This was why I was hoping for mid strip and then I could walk where we're going. I'm over-thinking this I'm sure!

Here's the current list and ladies who are interested in sharing a room. Did I miss anybody?

more..

GRAN TO ANGELS 13 Hours, 7 Minutes ago To everyone....
Some people have too much time on their hands. Does someone really have the time to post to every DAM N thread out here just for the purpose of spouting their negativity.
Why the concern for me...when this works for me and my doctor approves.
GRAN FOR ANGELS.....if you don't like the program. Don't do it. I encourage you to find the program that works for you. Did you try weight watchers. Did it's high sugar and high fat foods that kept you "legally" within your points make you feel better. It didn't clog your arteries did it? Did you go to www. weightwatchers.com and spew your venom.
Your rantings are not welcomne here. Are you trying to induce panic? There is no panic. This works and I'm living proof. Living & HEALTHY proof.
I'm sure there are sites that will cater to your needs.
Get a life. There are bigger causes to fight for....if you have that much passion, use it to solve abused children issues, domestic violence issues, world hunger. This little old KK community doesn't really need your negative passion.
To all of you working the program. Stick with it. As with every program., use common sense and get your doctors A-okay. I did and that was more than 100 lbs ago.
Just goes to prove....even an idiot has $60 in their pocket!
Love ya,
Dee

next comment:

Oh Dee I so love your way with words.

I was thinking the same thing. I can understand someone thinking this woe is not right for them...but do you really have that much time on your hands that you would waste our precious time? I am an intelligent capable adult who comes to this site for positive support and motivation. It works for me, plain and simple. This is quite frankly the first time in my life that I am in control of my own body....I would not give that up for anything.

So please Gran take your "concern" to people who are looking for it...there are plenty of other haters for you to hook up with elsewhere...

From Kimmer:

Ordinarily I don't comment about disgruntled members, but it makes you shake your head to think that Gran to Angels lost over 100 pounds with Kimkins.

PS - Dee, I'll bet they're all riled up because of your new avatar! Way to go pretty gal!

and Lasttime4me says:

am with you Dee...my doctor approved the Kimkims Food list when I was on the third week of the program. I lost my weight and I have been maintaining for months. I never did that on other diets except late 1960's WW. I would just gain the weight back.

I was unsuccessful on other diets like the new "Eat anythng you want" WW but I just chalked it up for another Diet that was not for me. I did not go out and bad mouth them just because it was not successful for me or becasue one of my friends did not like the diet. I did lose all my weight on the original WW diet but that is when the food was limited and not all foods were allowed on the program. I kept if off for many years but gained it all back when I quit smoking 18 years ago...

Your pic looks great Dee. Keep up the good work. I love they way you express yourself too!

someone else says..

Catfish ~

I agree with you I missed the negative impact from Gran for Angels.I do not see any posts
but that is too sad to hear about it. I won't let that thing affect me to quit Kimkins. Kimkins is wonderful
program and educate people to learn how to lose weight beside great supports.

Dee ~

I totally agree with your _expression_ words...Don't let that negative remarks influence everyone.
You are so HOT lady in this avatar!

We stay to stick together no matter what.

~Thanks~

lasttime...All negative comments have been and/or will be removed because they are against the Terms of Service.

I love your new pictures, Michelle. You look GREAT! Keep up the good work!

here's the one I use--commercial mayo is full of soy oil---I don't do soy of anykind---that's why I started making my own mayo--used to make it with olive oil but this has a better flavor

Coconut Mayonnaise
  • 1 whole egg
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1/2 cup Virgin Coconut Oil (melted if solid, not hot--will curdle)
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
1. Put the eggs, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, salt, and pepper into a food processor or blender: Then with the processor or blender running on low speed, start adding your oils very slowly. Start out with drops and then work up to about a 1/16-inch stream. It should take about two minutes to add the oil.
2. Continue blending until there is no free standing oil.

Makes about 1 1/2 cups

Hmmm....interesting.....

reminds me of deprogrammed cult members running back to the cult because they can't make it without the cult life---

and for those following Kimkins that piece of metal in their bathroom governs their thinking...
