Hey Deni I got a kick yout of your post this morning

I was a Braves fan when it wasn't cool..haha. I grew up in SC so the only team we ever knew was the Braves. My daddy was a huge Braves fan and I have very vivid memories as a little girl sitting on the porch with him on hot summer nights with the transistor radio listening to the games. One of the neatest things we did one year was to go to Atlanta on the Fourth of July and go to a game & fireworks at the old Fulton County Stadium. Our seats were right next to the dugout. I think they were probably $5.00 a piece!

When I got married 25 years ago and moved to North Dakota (of all places!) there were 10 channels on the cable. One of them happened to be TBS...thank goodness. So though the years of 12 military moves at least the Braves were a family constant. My husband and the kids are all huge fans too. Now a must for us is the Directv MLB package so we don't miss a game. And also it really helps that we are only three hours from Atlanta now...so you can guess what our favorite thing is to do on weekends is now! (A trip to a game and Trader Joe's)

I'm overwhelmed that we are on thread #16 .... Wow. Now I have the job to get caught up.
I am way behind but just read this and wanted to send out hugs and prayers and lots of strength to you and your husband Cheryl

from the Kimpound

Kimmer's "Pinky Swear" Challenge 2008 (today)

Kimmer: "XXXXX, sure start with a few days of K/E! I just wanted to mention for everyone that one area where some people have trouble is portion control. "As much lean protein as desired" means eating until satisfied, not stuffed. The protein must come from the food list because fatty meat will prevent the best results. Some members use K/E as a rescue tool ... a few days of high carb (cheat) then a few days of eating lots of protein (high calories) and weight loss suffers. What I look for in K/E is around day 4 when my appetite goes way down ... then K/E is a snap with average portions or several lean protein mini-meals throughout the day".

"True K/E is no cream, cheese, sugar alcohols, sausage, bacon, pork roast, spare ribs, DaVinci syrups, Coffeemate, etc. I know people use them (my eyes are closed lol), but weight loss will not be as strong. That's a fair trade off for some people, it all depends on priorities."

She has been "Back On Track" for 23 weeks & supposedly has gone from 317 to 256. So that is a an average of 2.65 lbs a week and her reported weight hasn't changed since March 30.

All I have to say is: I am by no stretch of the imagination a dieting role model but, I am 5 lbs from goal. So theoretically I should be losing at a snails pace.

I've lost two more pounds (!!!) in the last 10 days and I am at the lowest I have been since I was 22. I had to go buy a belt because my size 6 jeans are falling down at the waist. AND I have been eating French butter, cheeses, real eggs, almonds, coconut oil, cream and half and half, fruit, nut butter, sausage, bacon, full fat mayo and salad dressing and I made an Atkins coconut cake filled w/lemon curd and have been having a small piece a night.

Maybe I just want it bad enough.

Truth ~ My evidence that pointed to CJane being Ducky is circumstantial and too voluminious to post here. I said my mea culpa, so....

Anyway, it was just a cleverly formulated ruse to get Cjane back so she could taunt us with her av again.

Uhmmm, Bama, baseball is like watching paint dry?? Have you SEEN some of the baseball players?! Does the word "YUM" mean anything to you???

Jo & Deni ~ Early in my TV career, I got press passes to a Braves game and interviewed Tom Glavine just before he won his first Cy Young award. He's such a great guy. Just laid back, very bright, dry wit and super nice. He treated me like I knew what I was doing, even though I didn't!!!

Oh, and going to a game is completely different than watching it on TV. I like both, but in different ways. Going to a game is a great way to spend some time. It's very family oriented.

ETA: Telling some little boys that I once met Tom Glavine is a great way to get them to behave and think I'm the coolest teacher ever!!

As for ducky--Not to be overly terse, but who hasn't been accused of being Ducky by now? Everyone but Elmo (and only because he is a Muppet who lives in a crayon world with a fish named Dorothy and Mr Noodle) has been told they are, in fact, Ducky (yours truly, included).

Did you ever see Kimmer at a RedSox game? I hear they are one of her two favorite baseball teams!

Oh, no problem, I was just curious, since you sounded so confident that it was a slam dunk before Jane came in and said no. I wasn't looking for an apologetic explanation, I was just curious. Moving on.

So true.

I'm clueless as to who Ducky is. I have also given up guessing.

You are very sweet! Thanks for the cred. I've been having a great time with weight loss and talking to people about what works for them.

And I hope you didn't think I was lambasting you about the ducky thing. I thought you were being cheeky.

I'm sure you've been accused of being Ducky, too (which, incidentally, comes out at Sucky when you hit the wrong key).

Hey Mayberry et al...here's a Braves story for ya. Wherever we have been stationed if the Braves were a day's drive away we'd make it a point to go to a game. The best was going up to Denver when we lived in Colorado Springs for the Rockies games because the seats were great and both teams would come out and sign autographs and talk to everybody. About 7 years ago we lived in CA and drove up to San Francisco to see them play the Giants. My eldest has always had an enormous crush on Chipper and the other one just loved Javy Lopez. It was a gorgeous day in their beautiful park and we had great seats. We all wore our full Braves gear. The Braves won big time and we took a lot of grief from other fans. We walked out tried to ignore the taunting. When we walked right out they were loading the team bus. We stood there and the kids started saying hi to the players and they all turned and said hello and waved. Chipper came out...my daughter squealed & he turned around, gave her a huge grin and said hey to her. She turned totally white and I thought she'd pass out. She burst out into tears and it took us almost 6 hours, all the way home to get her to stop....

Jo,

That was ! I knew a guy here in the Huntsville area that could've been Chipper's brother. Looked just like him! I was always a Ryan Klesko girl. What a great guy.

Yeah, Bama, I like the college football players too, but now that I'm old enough to be their mother, and most of 'em look like they're 15, I watch the Tide for the GAME! My older brother was talking about being ready for fall just the other day. I told him he'd have to just settle down and wait.

Cleo! You old fabulous thing! How YOU doin'? Yes, I think you could teach Heidikins a few things about dropping the lbs. You are, as always, an inspiration!

Truth, great to see you around these parts! When might we be expecting some fascinating facts on your blog???

I just wanted to say congrats on being so close to goal!!!!

Also, because you are eating things you like and eating normally, you won't have as big a problem maintaining. If someone really did do Kimkins all the way to goal, what is the likelihood they would maintain that weight loss over a long period of time?
