On the picture thing..gals..I have the article here..There are 9 pictures on the article..

Christin's pictures were listed as lead photos: Charles Bush, hair..etc..
Then OTHER photos: Gene Bednarck (I think took Deni's picture up in the corner), Tetra, etc. (picture of the tape measure): courtesy of Kim Drake (one picture); courtesy of kimkins (one picture)..then the 4 food pictures.
Why the fascination with Kimmer?

Regarding WW, many people did send complaints to them but as far as I know, nobody got a response.

It would also be much more difficult to sue WW than Heidi. Sure, they neglected to verify their sources, and it could even be classified as lying, but Heidi is the person at fault here. She was the one that executed the fraud. WW was just a tool.

Thanks, Marisol. I was going to reply, but you found my thread. I do believe that WW is now alot more careful about their weight loss stories..I do believe they send their own photographers out now to take before/after pictures. They should have done this a year ago, huh? They learned their lesson..

Carolyn,

I beg to differ about WW being more careful NOW with what they print. I no longer buy that rag, but I see it standing in line at Wal-Mart. The covers tout the same type of "miracle diet" "fat falling off" "better than WLS" diet every week. One week it's low carb, the next it's low fat, the next it's taking some kind of mineral, the next it's using RTD shakes plus one simple meal, etc. etc.

WW hasn't changed a BIT. They may be more careful about verifying photos, but I wouldn't bet more than a dime on that either.

Don't trust them!

I still, will never buy another W.W. Magazine. If I had to wait in line somewhere (doctors office etc...) I would pick one up for some "Fluff" to read. Not any more.

I think they were shocked at how many people were mad at them and how many actually wrote them.

OMG, Mayberryfan...I hear ya. I almost had a kaniption in the grocery store a few months back. On the Cover of WW was another crazy diet and how a certain "Mushroom" would control your carbs if you ate it!

I had to stop myself from yelling at everyone..."Don't buy that STUPID Magazine". lol

Yes but the worst thing in all of those type rags is the slick 4 page layout on "The Drop 42lbs by Labor Day Diet".

Then you flip the page and there are 20 pages of "Yummy July 4th Pantsbuster Desserts".

I know it is in here but I'm sure the pixels are better on the orgina; screen shot somebody got.

I don't know if this helps, but I have this compilation shot. Don't know if this is what you were looking for.

Just a friendly reminder

WW is published by Bauer publishing which also publishes "In Touch" "Style" "First for Women" and CBS/ABC Soaps. Don't buy any of these. First for Women is only slightly classier than WW - which ain't hard to do, btw - and they feature the same "miracle diets" and loads of unbelievably fattening recipes in the same issue - as Jo pointed out!

Maybe Jo and I can start our own mags?

"Aunt Bee's Recipes" - for people who are fat and phat and proud of it.

"Fitness First with Charlene Darling" - how running from an amorous, rock-throwing redneck will keep the pounds away!

yummmm we could use Opie's fave "Butterscotch Pecan Pie"

Oh and I have the perfect redneck in mind to use for that artical!

He might be able to give old Charlene some Majik Cheek'n recipes!

If you click on my picture it brings up a slide show, with a little blurb under it about her 100 lb moment, which supposedly took 5-1/2 months to accomplish.

First of all I couldn't help but notice that there is no 100 lb loss photo. It jumps from 223 lbs (75 lb loss) at 4 months to 181 (117 lb loss) at 7 months. If you were so excited about losing 100 lbs that you'd run outside and shout it to the world (front door and back door), don't you think that you'd also make sure you had a photo taken of yourself at that weight?

Moving right along suddenly her weight plummets an additional 50 lbs to 131 lbs, in the very next photo, which is taken only one month later, at the 8 month mark.

So... it took:

1 month to lose 27 lbs
2 months to lose 47 lbs
3 months to lose 67 lbs
4 months to lose 75 lbs (that's a loss of only 13 lbs that 4th month)
Then she loses from 223 to 181 (42 lbs) in 3 months - for an average of only 14 lbs per month
but requires only 1 month to lose an additional 50 lbs?!

We all know that weight loss does not speed up as you get closer to your goal- instead it becomes more difficult and slower.

What happened here? How did she suddenly manage to drop 50 lbs in a month after her original 27 lb/month loss slowed to 20 lbs per month, then finally slowing to 13-14 lbs per month for 4 months?!

Something is rotten there, and it's not just the nasty canned chicken.
Sorry, go back and look at it again. Her weight LOSS is 131, not her weight. She says her weight after one month is 167. That's a 14 pound loss, not a 50 pound loss. She later says her final weight is 149, but doesn't say how long after the 167 that is - I imagine a month or two.

Oops - I am so sorry! I read it completely wrong! I blame the lateness of the hour when I was going through those pictures.

Perhaps one reason I read it wrong (other than just being too stupid to read it right) though was that it looked to me like there was such a marked difference in her neck and collarbone area between the 7 month photo and the 8 month photo - to me, she looks far thinner in that 8 month photo than in the 7 month photo, for a weight loss of only 14 lbs.

Actually, I think that last photo of her (in the paisley top) says that she weighs 140. I agree she looks waaaaay thinner in that photo!

I know that "majik cheek'n" man. He likes to burn the candle at both ends! He's also a "bidness" man.

See, this is what I mean when I say all the good ones "is" taken!

Not to worry. I read it the same way myself the first time I saw it - I just didn't bother to do the math until you brought it up. She switches things up on that page and says how much she weighs first instead of how much she lost. You're right about the final weight - it is 140.

And there is a significant difference in how she looks in the 7 and 8 month pictures. I'm thinking that the 7 month picture may not really be at 7 months. She says she weighs 181 in that picture, and she looks heavier than that. I don't think it's intentional. She probably had a picture (that one looks like a random picture that someone took, not a "Hey, look at the weight I lost" picture) and guessed that it was somewhere around 7 months and 181 pounds.

It is curious though, that she has progress pictures right up until she hits 223. Then, suddenly, there are none. I know I wouldn't think to take pictures during my weight loss, but she obviously did. You can tell each picture is a "Look at what I've lost picture," until you get to the one on the seesaw. Then it's candid shots until you get to the victory picture. Odd.

Maybe she's talking about Heidi's ex-husband? Didn't someone get in touch with him? Or maybe she's thinking of the ex-girlfriend of her son. Someone also contacted her, I think. I don't remember who it was, but I think Janessa spoke to someone who confirmed that Heidi was bald, obese and a crook. As someone said, Heidi wouldn't have a son-in-law unless Brandon is gay.

He sure would be an eligible bachelor what with that candle, diet and dj bidness and all.

Maybe you could get together and raise cheek'ns for the Magik diet.

I think that the son's ex-GF and ex-husband have been referred to so often that it's now morphed into son-in-law. At one time people were referring to her ex-Daughter in law, but then someone came along and pointed out that her son and the mother of her grandchild were never married. As far as I can recall, the only children we know of that she has are two sons - the one with the ex-GF who is the mother of Heidi's grandchild, and Brandon, who lives with her.

At any rate, I think it was both her ex-husband and her son's ex-GF who (between the two of them) confirmed such things as the alopecia, that she has done jail time for previous scams, and... oh I think there were more
