Hmmmm. That sounds like someone we know, sort of. Hey "buddy" (I won't "out" anyone) is this your way of flaming out over there or are you still as undercover as one of Kimmer's cabana boys?

from the Kimpound
Just LOVE having my very own flock of ducks to poke around over at the Kimpire for me!!
![]() -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- question: Has all the "negative publicity" slowed down by now.......should we keep a low profile...and maybe be in a quieter area? Just wondering everyones' thoughts on it. I thought the idea of a t-shirt was great....or would that bring too much attention to us? I am proud to be a Kimkins member! I'm not a paranoid person, just cautious. If I go......I want this to be a relaxing, fun trip for all of us! You know how rude people can be at times. Kimmer's answer: The anti-Kimmer groups are very active. The Drake Bombers are my favorite (drake is a male duck or "duckie", get it). I'm their reason for getting out of bed in the morning. No doubt they've started their usual anti-Kimkins letter and email campaign to every hotel, motel & TV station in Vegas by now. I expect some of them will actually come to Vegas. This is what they do.

Unfreakinbelievable....almost.
This really has gotten under my skin.
Mayberry, since you said you were a journalist, you can weigh in on this. Last night, my HS junior son, who goes to a college prep school, asked me to read over a paper he had to write. All I could do was tell him to recheck his spelling and that he had some sentence fragments. I couldn't do more because they must sign an honor pledge for all of their work stating that it is their original work and that no one helped him. And he has to credit every source, no matter how small. That made me think about this: The last post Amyb had at Kimkins was about one of "Gary's" recipes for flat iron steaks. We love those steaks and have been eating them for a while. I like to try different seasonings with them so I looked at that recipe and jotted it down. I forgot that I had written it down. I made the statement yesterday that I thought "Gary's" advise and recipes came from all over the Internet and he never credited the authors. I had seen many of these things on other sites. Sure enough, the flat iron steak recipe was VERBATIUM off another popular site with no credits as to where it came from. And people are saying "I loved YOUR recipe" and he never says where they come from. So I got curious. Went to the Kimkins Blogs that are on the home page, available to anyone. Sure enough, the medically related articles are lifted VERBATIUM and NOT CREDITED from other sources. And of course they are like she wrote them herself. Words are not even cleverly changed, headlines are the same! We know there are no "honor code" issues with her, but aren't there infringement and copy write issues? She can't even write her own blog. Unfreakinbelievable....almost. ![]() |

Jo..Incredible, huh? I guess Gary has no "conscience" either. That's why he can work for Kimmer and spy for her on the sites, etc. The only thing the author of the article can do is to tell her to give him/her credit or post the source. She is not selling the information (which would be another big boondoggle, just stealing it and claiming it as her own). The authors/sites need to be made aware of this..
And, the Las Vegas trip..Hey, no one cares if she goes to Vegas with her friends, do we? What we really care about is the lawsuit.. Hi Amy...(hugs) to you. I wish I could help..but I am puter illiterate, too.

Jo,
After Heidi lifted pictures and created fake success stories, you're SURPRISED that she'd lift other things for her website??Kimmer is the type of person who'd probably hit the cemetary right after a service so she could take some nice fresh flowers to put on her table. Her motto is "Ethics, smethics." Whatever makes Kimmer happy is all the "ethics" she needs. Oh, and a lot of "journalists" aren't much better! Guess why I chose to leave that business!? ![]() |

AmyB, there are 2 ways to do it.
I'm not familiar with wordpress, but I'm pretty sure they're editor has a hyperlink button somewhere. When you're typing a new post, even on a board like this, see the button at the top of the text entry window that looks like a little globe? That button will allow you to change words that you type into links to websites. To do that, type the text that you want the link to be.. like.. Check out my recipes HERE! (You'd want "here" to be the clickable link) Highlight the word(s) that you want to be the link and then click on the hyperlink button. This will open a little pop up window and it will ask you what URL you want the text to link to. Paste or type in the url of the website that you want your text to link to in that window (something like http: //www. lowcarbfriends.com -without spaces- or whatever the site is) and click ok! Done! Or, you can use wordpress's html editor to make text links. This is a little more involved, but I can give you instructions on how to do this as well if you need it. Let me know ![]() Last edited by MorganMacLeoid : 03-05-2008 at 03:06 PM. |

Amy,
When you're making a blog post there is a button in the middle of the task bar that will insert a link for you. It's just to the right of the text alignment (center, etc.) buttons. HTH! C |

No, I'm not surprised at all, but you think she would have learned her lesson from that and not made it soooo blatant. Did you see the "Curb Your Enthusiasm" where Larry took the flowers off his friend's mother's memorial to give away? ![]() |

I love your reference to flower lifting at the cemetery ..... Hey I once knew a single gal that use to read the death notices and would go to the "showing" and introduce herself to the widowed husband saying she was a friend of his late wife.... She was looking for a rich guy and she always picked senior citizens. |

Wow. Ok. Can't believe this isn't painfully obvious. People (I should say customers; people who shelled out money to this con artist) and their lawyers contacted Heidi's family members b/c she is a scam artist. They wanted info b/c this woman basically stole their money. Heidi and her lawyers contacted the ex spouse of a principal in the lawsuit. For what??? To find out if she lost weight on other diets and how much? Info about her marriage? How does that matter? I mean, Heidi and her lawyer know the truth! They know Heidi is a fraud. They aren't trying to find out anything pertinent to this case. They are trying to DISCREDIT someone, not get info! That's the difference.
