Can I ask a question about Woman's World magazine? I noticed that some of you said how much you hated the magazine, besides the Kimkins stuff, is there another reason? I admit I buy it on occasion and I just wanted to know if there is something I should know about it.

Others might be able to answer that question better than me, but I think it is because a lot of people joined KK's due to the magazine. They wrote the article about KK's and used pictures Heidi submitted without seeing her in person, and they didn't do their homework about her plan or about her success with her plan. Heidi made most of her money from the new members that joined her site due to that article.

I know there are some blogs that deal with this subject. Hopefully, someone else will come along and give you some links to them.

Well, they don't exactly pass the journalistic integrity test, if you know what I mean. That's why I don't buy it. But I don't buy any of those kinds of magazines. Not my kind of entertainment. Too each his own, eh?

WW has knows since days after they published their paper the diet info was not correct about kimkins but they have never retracted that and since Sept they have had visual proof Kimmer was not the slim person she claimed and the picks they published were fakes for her but did they say hey wait a minute our reporter failed to verify the facts in this story and we published a dangerous diet without a warning and help to advertize a fraudulant website and we are sorry. Nope and they still have not dealt with the kimkins diet nor the fraudulant site they help sell with their story about it. All they have done is apologize for posting the fake pics of kimmer and not verifying the info kim Drake ( that is a Kimmer AKA Heidi Diaz name) supplied them.

Some nice ducks have already made a pretty good case against Woman's World, but I wanted to add a couple of points.

First, LOTS of people buy WW because of it's placement in stores. Only the best-selling magazines get that coveted space right around the register's, so you certainly aren't the only one buying it anymore. I used to buy it every week. But, it's really no different than The National Enquirer and similar magazines that are also right at the register.

Secondly, WW is published by Bauer publishing which also publishes In Touch, Style, First for Women and ABC/CBS Soaps. I've been on a campaign for a few months now to ask people not to buy any of these. For SEVERAL months many here have repeatedly contacted Bauer and given them PLENTY of evidence about the dangerous nature of Kimkins which they helped grow by leaps and bounds. Only a week or so ago did they print the tiniest "oops we messed up just a bit" by printing that story. But, they said NOTHING about the diet being dangerous, etc.

THAT'S why I hope people will continue to boycott all of Bauer's rags, not just WW! (oh, I was a journalist for 15 years and this kind of stuff REALLY gets under my skin, can you tell? )

I am posting about the chicken diet today. I spent yesterday dealing with medical stuff with Philip.

I am going to be blunt. did I mention I am blunt? lol

I never realized just how much I was wrapped up with the whole I NEED Heidi. The funny thing is..I even thought that after I knew she was not who she claimed to be.

The day I got banned back in Nov 2007. Kimmer knew from post that I was in SC with my step dad very ill. She banned me. Kimmer knew that Philip had taken a turn with medical issues and would be having more operations ...she banned me, I think that makes her a ....well...ya know.

But one thing I know I find myself doing is...trying to defend myself in my blog . And the truth is I am dealing with someone who I should not care what she thinks. I think my blog seems to be saying..haha kimmer I am thin I have kids I have a DH I have this or that and you do not. That seems mean ...I am not great at being mean...but she does make it easier for me. I think I need to remind myslef...she has messed with my head.But at the same time..it makes me seem cocky. Which I am not.

Amy B is not cocky. LOL.

So I have to comment on the ducks. well...I have to say...I was worried that either the ducks would come after me...or they would be nice to try to get me to say or do something. This was drilled in my head from Kimkins.
But The ducks have been wonderful. Kind of shocks me when I get a e-mail that tells me to take my time and be good to myslef...I guess I can say that the idea of Ducks number one..taking ex KK under their wing...yep...I feel it.

Now I am off to pluck some chickens...lol

One other thing...how would I know the main blogs to read...is there a list?

Great post, Mayberry! I had another thought as I was reading your reply. If the KK's story was so little researched, what about all of the others they publish? It just happened that there was a flock of ducks to swoop down on the KK's story, but the rest of their stories probably don't get that kind of attention.

Your post yesterday touched me. I have had a hard time saying some things in my blog and I am only on my third day. I guess it is hard because it is personal and that Can be hard.
But your post reminded me why it is I am doing this. It started with me being mad and a stab at Kimmer. I am human. But it has been a wake up call for me. It has been good for me.
I hope you do believe what I say ..and yes I am a real person..with real emotions . I am so glad to be away form her. She is crazy. You wait till you see the other PM and e-mail. It is shocking for me.

Amyb - Here I go trying to answer your question when so many other people know more about it than me, but here's how I did it. First of all, WildAngel always has a running list of the "must read's" of the day. Also, when you go to a person's blog, they usually have a list of others you might want to read and most of the KK's blogs are in a web ring. I hope my limited amount of knowledge about it helps.

I am so glad that you feel like the duck squad has your back because they do. Most of them have been in your shoes. Most of them may not have an issue like you have with Philip, but I'm sure that lots of them have other issues in their lives like sick parents, money problems, insurance problems, marriage troubles .... You get the picture. The wonderful thing about you is that you are willing to share with us and put it into writing. Many of us feel the same way you do, but just don't have the talent or maybe even the courage to put it into words.

I know how you feel about the ducks. I had been lurking here all along because I read everything while the new KK's site was being changed over. At that time, feelings were still raw and some comments did seem really harsh, but over time what has filtered out is a "kinder, gentler" way of dealing with the issue. The main thing is that when people like you put their experience into words that everyone can read, more people begin to understand what really went on at KK's.

We all really do you and appreciate what you are doing.
