Well, yeah, it is too late. LOL! One of the joys of the internet ... but, what it is never too late to do is to just pop in and let folks know that you are feeling a bit shaky. Amy, lots of these folks have been exactly where you are and can so relate. And those of us who haven't been there are here for you, too. Please don't hesitate to ask for lots of hands to hold yours while you work through all this.

Absolutely. I never did Kimkins, never even considered it, but I'd never look down on those who did. I was an eyewitness to Heidi in her heyday here on LCF, and it's very easy to understand why so many people believed her. Heidi's very smooth, very articulate, and quite intelligent. I always thought she'd exaggerated her her weight loss story, but maybe by twenty or thirty lbs, and fudged how long it actually took. But I was as floored as anyone when I learned she'd never lost any of it. She's very convincing, as are most sociopaths. And sociopaths work their best (black) magic on *good* people, people who are kind and generous and trusting. I'm willing to bet that applies to 90% or more of the people left at the Kimpound -- it's not that they're stubborn or stupid or anything like that. They're in the thrall of a very charismatic, very intelligent woman who's spent a lifetime scamming people in one way or another.

It took me a while to sort out my feelings about being at Kimkins. For some people, it's all about Kimmer, but I don't think that was true for a majority of people when I was there. I had NO real interaction with her. For me, it was Littlebit (Becky), Curlygirl (Amy), Christin and Jessicaboston who helped me. I was like you (I think) in that I had the threads that I hung out in, mostly the 40's crowd and I never wanted nor expected Kimmer's input. The people who were there, like Scrappin' Hottie (Sharon) were great! That's what kept me in the Kimpire.

As for seeing the light about Kimmer, I kept lurking here and wondering why these people hated Kimmer so much. My lack of knowledge about healthy dieting made me believe what Kimmer said about eating so little food and using stored calories to lose quickly being healthy. But, I have to say, the more I became fascinated with the Kimmer threads here, the more I began to learn WHY these ladies and gentlemen hate her. It's not jealousy or personality clashes. It's because Heidi is an evil fraud who is greedy enough to make money lying to people who are desperate to lose weight.

I've learned so much from the people who frequent this thread and have done my own research into healthy low-carbing that I feel confident now that I can follow this WOE for life. It's not a diet for me at all!

I've said most of this stuff here before, so if you've lurked, this may not be new for you. But I wanted to share my story with you, just in case. Oh, and I KNOW why I was banned. I used the "other" picture of the Russian bride Kimmer claimed was her photo as my avatar over at the Kimire. Imagine THAT getting me banned!

Amyb - Take your time and sort out your feelings. Being thrown out of your comfort zone is tough. It's happened to me twice. The first time was when I left the Kimpound - voluntarily - when I realized what was really going on. I'm still struggling with my meal plan after all these months. The second time was when eDiets "upgraded" their website and threw the support boards into chaos. I've been a member of a team there for 4 years, and we had a very structured, but fun, challenge board which kept me in line, more or less. We've had to form a team at another site, just to stay together and are just now setting up a little structured challenge to get everyone back on track. It has thrown me more than I would ever have imagined!

You'll do fine - just take some time to figure out what you need to do - then do it. We're glad you came here to post.

Amy, just an assumption, that is why so many got banned way back when. If you did not bad mouth Kimmer or Kimkins you should still be able to log-in to the site.
