Or is it me? Last night we had dinner at a teppan place where the Asian chef cooks in front of you. It has been months since we had been there and the menu was different. I had trouble understanding the Asian waitress when she explained the difference between 2 chicken dishes, but I didn't want to be rude or embarrass her. So I ordered what I thought was plain grilled chicken with veggies plus small salad.

I know you’re Asian and all, but could you possibly give me a menu in Spanish or Braille? I used to volunteer teaching Spanish and helping the blind learn to read.

In the same way I didn't send back the Cobb salad bleu cheese dressing so as to not inconvenience the waitress or cook, I ate the wrong food at the teppan place. I was hungry (like I don't know better than to go to a restaurant hungry!) and ate the small green salad with a sweet ginger dressing. Then watched the chef "show" ... who was very funny and entertaining ... while she cooked my teriyaki chicken. I didn't order sweet teriyaki!

That’s our Kimmer. Hates to inconvenience anyone. Starve them? Yes. But inconvenience? Nooooooo!

Then the chef seemed offended I wasn't eating the rice they automatically give you so I took a couple chopsticks worth. What was I thinking???

Is it too late to take that back?

This has been a problem for me all my life. I never want to offend "service" people ... waitresses, store clerks, cashiers, secretaries, postal workers ... not even tech support in Bangladesh. I'll take the wrong item, pay extra charges, eat cold food, accept slower than promised delivery dates. I'll even eat a teaspoon of bleu cheese dressing.

Yes, now you all know my worst fault, I Heidi Diaz, am just too darned nice for my own good. It’s a blessing and a curse!

So what's the moral of my story? I don't know except that I need to find a "work around" for it."

(Folks she actually used the word “moral”! Thank heavens for dictionary.com, eh Kimmer?)

And I'm not the only one. Historically women have been raised as pleasers ... good daughters, dutiful wives, always on-call mothers and more likely to work in subservient positions rather than CEOs.

It’s that freakin’ glass ceiling again, which as we all know is twice as thick for us chubby girls!

I'm no different. But I think "pleasing" even extends to myself. Rather than making a better food choices, I'm apt to pick what I want so as to not disappoint myself.

Heidi is going to try to do more to please herself? In a word – Ewwwww!

So this will be a goal for me to work toward in our Kimkins Pinky Swear Diet Challenge starting February 1-29. Rumor is it takes 3 weeks to change a habit and I'm going to test that theory with the aid of my secret weapon.

Secret weapon huh? Would that be a Diet Coke-Cap’n Morgan-Miralax cocktail? Or a little Epsom salt high-colonic? Heidi, you DO know how to have fun, doncha girl?

Goodness! She acts like she's NEVER lost weight on her own plan before! Or ANY plan!

Ok I just clicked that and I saw Kimmers response and just realized something that bothers me. She had almost 20,000 posts in many, many threads (remember, she popped in everywhere to spread her message). I am sure there are people out there that do searches and are unaware of the controversy and could likely follow her dangerous advice.

Her avatar is still up (

), her fake stats are there, all the lies in her posts are there....all that visible alongside her advice and people are going to buy it. I am not saying scrub everything...I don't think that is a good idea, but I do think a warning in the signature or something is necessary.
