Poking Kimkins Affiliates
January 12th, 2008

I had to do it…

Dear sir or madam,

I assume that you are aware of the fact that the founder of Kimkins committed fraud by claiming to have had a dramatic weight loss. I noticed that you are continuing to update your affiliate site and I am wondering if you realize that you are exposing yourself to potential legal action by continuing to publish lies.

I would appreciate any response to this email and I must advise you that I would consider publishing the content on a blog.

Sincerely,

Martin

And, less than 20 minutes later (Know any people who get into trouble with impulsive behavior ?)

wouter van dyck to me 8:22 pm (23 minutes ago)

who are you and why should i justify myself to you?

i don’t now how you do your research but that blog isn’t updated in like 2 months

and as far is i now, i really don’t follow that, there has been no conviction or arrest so legal action against me?

please

wouter didn’t put his name at the bottom of the response. I don’t know if he had intended to reply anonymously.

Followed by:

I should mention, that the ‘updating’ that I referred to in my email was the installation of some kind of RSS links thing with all the links starting with http://uk.wrs.yahoo.com’

This kind of content helps improve SEO. When I saw the update date of this content, I mistakenly assumed that it was published manually. I don’t know when the site was changed to include this feature. The update date comes from the rss content provider. I am guessing that it is a daily update.

Another blogger called this guy out about a month ago and made reference to “updated: 16 Dec 2007 12:00am MST” This blogger was also under the impression that the cash cow of a site is enjoying continued husbandry even though it is not saying anything new about Kimkins. What could he say really?

I see WildAngel6 caught this too! I should have known she'd get it posted.

These affiliates that keep promoting Kimkins..are they totally insane? I mean, even if I didn't understand one freaking thing about LC dieting and didn't care, it would occur to me that will all the negative stuff being written daily about Kimmer, it might be time to cut my affiliation and run.

Hey affiliates - ever wonder why Medusa and some of the other main bloggers aren't worried about getting sued for libel by Heidi? The reason is simple - you cannot sue someone for telling the truth. And that's about the only thing Heidi will never be sued for. She doesn't know the meaning of the word truth.

She is, however, about to learn the meaning of justice!

I'd give $5 to see her in a store. That would be schweet.

I'd be all peering into her basket. "Is this on your Thimskins Diet?" and "I like cookies, too." and "I like your hair! Can I touch it?"

I think I would've said.... Hon, you might want to check aisle 8. That's where the Dexatrim, Trimspa, etc. etc. are sold.

Or...I could have walked by her several times singing "Baby Got Back"

I touch it and then my ring gets stuck. I pull my hand back in horror and notice there is a furry think attacking my hand. I run, screaming through the aisles and out the front door, until I free my hand. Then I throw it down on the ground and start beating it with my purse.

The manager comes and inquires as to what has been happening. I answer in my most droll tone. "Sir. This woman's hair has been attacking me. It leapt from her head and it followed me right out of the door. I have heard of 'parting hair', but this is taking that sentiment to a new level."

Well, over at Jimmy's Shiphips started a post on how peeps were worried about her not eating right, but she was defending KKins to the teeth. Jimmy wrote this on her post:

THANKS for sharing your comments shiphips. But this is neither the time nor the place to debate the Kimkins diet. You can do that elsewhere, but we're not gonna do that here. It is well-documented that this "diet" plan you support was created by a morbidly obese scam artist with no background in nutrition or medicine.

The true low-carb diet consists of a high-fat, moderate protein, low-carb diet where calories are not a factor. Sure, there are SLIGHT variations from this, but that's the basis of Atkins, Protein Power, Barry Groves, and the other reputable low-carb plans that are out there. These are legitimate plans to be discussed--but not Kimkins...at least not here.

Feel free to open your own forum or blog to tout how Kimkins has helped you, but it's not gonna happen here. We have people here recovering from the severe health damage that was done to them because of this dangerous low-cal/low-fat diet fraud, so I will not permit you to post your positive feedback about it.

THANKS for sharing and best wishes in your weight and health journey.

Go, Jimmy, go!!!!

Go, Jimmy, go!!!!
I have to disagree with him, though. South Beach is lower-fat, and it's no less a 'true' way of low-carbing. I think he may have, in the moment, confused Atkins with "all low carb". Every plan deviates a little.

As well, Dr A said don't count calories, but calories do count. Again, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, but wanted to correct the reasoning there.

Naturally, however, none to the level of Kimkins!

I'd bet she is. People like her, i.e. manipulators, are quite adept at "using" the system to get what they want. I don't know about CA, but in many other states people actually have to buy their Food Stamps, so maybe that was what she was whining about.
