Someone with website expertise help me out here...does a membership counter use lots of bandwith? (I suspect it doesn't!)

I'm asking because one of the very, very few exchanges I had with "the Kimmer" herself was when I asked why her membership and #of people online counter vanished. She claimed it was eating up too much bandwith.

I think she was trying to keep the explosive growth of her site under wraps so as to fly under the radar of the hater detectives a bit.

Yep...still at 115 as of...NOW. I also came across this little tidbit of info in the "Other Plans" section...

While we don't mind any plan you choose to do, we discourage posting any rules or directions for Kimkins plans. To do so would be a copyright infringement. We hope you understand. Thank you.

There are people on this site that eat oatmeal (and promote it). I have nothing against oatmeal, but for me (hypoglycemic) I have never felt like oatmeal was the food for me. Remember that Kimmer threatened to sue if Brian printed any of the precious secrets of Kimkins? Gosh, I think the plan is posted on the net for free..Here, too..

I agree - I'm hypoglycemic too, and any starchy grain will do that to me, in all but the smallest quantities. (I can eat a slice or two of homemade low carb bread with no ill effect - each slice would have less than 1/4 tsp. of oat flour, and no other starchy ingredients)

I really did try for years and years to eat a "healthy" diet full of whole grains - all it did was make me hungry, sap my energy, make me sleepy, and cause me to gain massive quantities of weight.

Looks like Brandon is looking for work:

Kaplar. - Bursting Force

Well, People call me Rezeyu; but alot of my non-digital friends call me Rez.

Actually, I hate when people call me Rez; I'm not sure why. there's just something annoying about hearing it over and over at Blockbuster or some other mundane location.

Anyways, I'm a freelance Graphic Designer and Programmer. I do most contracts through RentaCoder. I'm currently enrolled in Graphics technology courses at the local community college (Yeah, community, I'm not a good student, whatever.) I own a small art site that nobody really cares about, and I go all the graphical UI and sprite work for my games.

On that note, I'm a programmer. Not an amazing one, but average. I know primarily TI-BASIC and VB6, with slight knowledge of AHK and PHP. I'm currently in development of a RP-Encouraged ORPG.

Gaming wise, Xbox 360 is the ****. I hate Sony with the divine passion of hell. No, seriously. I play on Xbox live, and my gamertag is... dundundun.. Rezeyu. I mostly play shooters, and strategy games. I also generally don't play PC games, because, I just don't. Get over it.

MUSIC! I love music, hard, in the face. I listen to it almost at all times, and my subwoofer makes it kick ass. I never listen to music quietly. Favorite Bands are Cradle of Filth, Slipknot, KoRn, Marilyn Manson, Mushroomhead, Static-X, and Atreyu.

My general rule of thumb is Lyrics > Everything. If I can't understand it, or it makes no sense (Like most garage band crap..) I won't like it. Occasionally there is a song or two I enjoy just because of how it sounds, but that's rare.

Furthermore, I have a morbid obsession with zombies, actively developed a zombie ORPG source, own various books, and killed over 53k zombies in 2 days on Dead Rising. I've even gone so far as to watch every special feature on the Living Dead series so many times I have them mostly memorized.

Oh, and I completely redesigned my Myspace to a zombie theme.

That's all for now I guess.

Isn't it amazing how we all differ? Oatmeal is one of the few grains that DON'T give me blood sugar swings. I can eat a nice healthy sandwich on whole grain bread and spend the rest of the day horribly hungry and fighting the urge to eat a whole pan of brownies (not that there are any in the house). But oatmeal? I feel great.

In other words - keep a food diary and do what's right for you.

Just thought I'd point this out in the interests of fairness.
I think Tippy Toes is trying to present the site in a way that makes its conception other than what it is.....a way to make money. I think that is her mistake because if she hasn't learned by now, then she hasn't been paying attention....Your Lies catch up to you.
She has tried to make it sound like Brian and Heather contacted her about the site.
She has tried to present the start up to of the site as done because she was not welcomed at Amy's Forum.
The little things that may not be important, but if they aren't then why lie about them?
Tippy has tried to set up Brian and Heather to others as those running and funding the site.
Much like Kimmer in her attempts of distancing herself from the kimkins site and let others be the ones 'representing' the site. In fact Tippy seems to be following in Kimmer's footsteps- even using some of her old lines from kimkins.
Tippy at first had Brian and Heather fielding the "tough questions" but it seems that Tippy couldn't keep quiet as well as kimmer has been able to do or at least not speak under her screen name.
No Tippy would rather open her mouth and burn bridges. Tippy, Kimmer would not be proud.

I've been camping all my life--but that place reminds me of a girl scout camp--with all the funky names and stuff----
I like the duck bama.
You are correct the Domain was in Heathers name and Tippy put the site in her name right before Tippy blogged about it. I think that was the 13th of December.
I think setting it up like you are a visitor to someone's camp and the juvenile theme suits those who want to be *told* what to do and also suits those who want people to look up to them (Tippy that would be you).

My issue is the implication that SWSNBN puts forth that she started the site out of the pure intentioned goodness of her heart, to "provide" a home for all the wandering, lost refugees of KK and other message boards where they are supposedly "not wanted." Ok, I get that she doesn't have technical know-how but I searched Yahoo and the first site for free forums didn't require tech knowledge at all. If there are sites like this out there, then logically there is no need for hired techies and paying for expensive servers or domain stuff and whatnot. Only a little effort and time, and she must have had both of those together sometime to get even campcarbawry started. If you want to get even simpler, there's places like yahoo groups where networking is possible even if you have only rudimentary computer skills (point, click, peck in the name, reason for the group, ect).

Color me confused but I really don't see how she had no other choice but to create a business venture out of it.

SMP, 2big4mysize, I really do appreciate your input on this! I apologize in advance if I've been abrasive about this. It's not my intention. You both have been great about bringing up certain points out of fairness. Thank you!
I can't answer that for you. I do know when i was approached by some folk wanting to start a for fee site back in 2004 My first question was why would anybody pay me for advice when they can get it all for free on the site we were currently posting on? I could understand accepting donations to pay for server costs and stuff but the low carb community has thrived on paying the debt we all owe to those low carbers who came before us and helped us by paying it forward and helping those who come after us. I was really floored Kimmer was charging as much as she was and folk were really shelling out money for it. Greed has done some strange things and impacted the low carb community as a whole.

Someone posted one to me, but then my hard drive had some issues and I lost it. Please direct me to these honeybees. Seeing my face is odd. Especially, if I get back to posting as much as I used to then it would be sort of weird....Like I was running for office or something.

I agree with that totally! I know that I get a 2 3pm slump if I am eating carbs as the main source of calories/fuel in my diet. I actually can get so sleepy that my words take on a slurred sound, as if I am on the martini and meat diet.
For those of you who asked don't I ever sleep, you should see me at that time of day having to pry my eyes open with toothpicks or caffeine. lol
