Hi...everyone!!!!

I am a newbie....except MomtoEli and Tooter know who I am!!!!

I just wanted to drop in and tell all of you who have been working so hard on this,"Thank-You!". I know that Tooter is a long time poster here...and understands everything, but she, also, has a caring heart and goes about her "work" here in a diligent, caring manner!!!!

I know that many of you are worried about New Year's resolutions. I made a resolution the day after Thanksgiving...when I saw the people on the news who had lost so much weight with the "Heidi" plan. I thought:"I have to find that sight...who cares if they lost a little hair!!!"

Because of everyone's hard work here...I found all of you instead. One of Tooter's challenges. I must say that Tooter is one of the most caring individuals that I have ever "met"....and I am thankful every day that I was given the opportunity to meet her....even if in some weird way it was due to Kimkin's. Thanks Heidi!!!!

Once again..."Thank You" to each and every one of you who have made a positive impact...through working together...to put an end to things, and help save people like me from themselves!!!!

There's a diner not too far from here where I used to go and gorge on gravy-laden fare years ago, and Maurice was a regular there, corner booth. No one troubled him or his family, but he was very gracious if a straggling fan asked for an autograph. Not cool, IMO, to bug folks when they're trying to have a nice breakfast, but he was a gentleman.

And his paintball business was really close to where I live.

I remember being in my teens and Andy's house was close to my best pal's--whose sister was a total Andyophile--and she actually dug out Andy's cast-off terry robe. We'd take turns wearing it. How dorky is that?

hah.

Yeah, I'm still bummed about Maurice. A preventable death (surgical mishap), and I grew up singing, then dancing, to the Bee Gees. Sniff.

To Jeanessa: Sorry about the stress, girl. May God bless you and yours as you cope with the difficulties involved with an ailing parent. Losing a mom--well, words cannot describe the pain. I still haven't healed 3.5 years later. I have a gaping hole, and I'm resigned to living with it until I die. I believe--because of my particular faith--that I will see her again. But the separation meanwhile is awful. I try to think of her and pops together in a better place, but, well, I'd rather they were here with me. Selfish brat that I am...

To everyone: When a group tries to do something, and there is zeal, there is always some crossing of lines. There is correction (internal, external). There are always trolls. There are always those who like to criticize without actually helping. There are those who mean well, but maybe word things awkwardly. There are differences of opinion. That's just how it is. It cannot be smooth sailing always.

But I've been reading from thread one, and I know where the hearts of most are, and it's not in an evil place, despite what some think. (And those postings from other forums do show the motivations of some, so they are justified.) It's easy to criticize and point fingers and meddle. It's harder to actually do some work for a cause--any cause. I think it's okay to have spats and to make up. It's the human way. Even the best marriages have shoutfests. The point is that we know who's done what, and we know who's done squat. I'd rather hear from those who've done something than nothing, and just have two cents to toss around. Action speaks louder than words. My actions have been much less than many, so my words carry less weight. Period. The one who walks the longest, their words mean the most.

So, to the walkers--not just talkers--like Jeanessa and Honeybee and host of you others here and out there, thank you. Keep walking and talking. It's for the ultimate good. Strategies may differ, and zeal may go overboard, but I've seen uproars here before, and it eventually calms and self-reflection follows, and apologies are often offered and accepted, and what is profitable for the overall cause is kept at it, despite scoffers. That's a sign of a good-hearted group, imo. In a democratic system, you can offer your opinion, but no one needs to bother to heed it, care about it, or applaud it. In fact, democracy allows for repudiation of an opinion. The marketplace of ideas is a quarrelsome, loud place. Always has been.

So, offer your opinion, but don't expect everyone to bow to it and say, "Oh, that's wonderful, let's do that." Some may say it's dumbass and scoff and blow you off. .And that includes any ideas or opinions of mine. That's not mob mentality. That's just how it is when everyone gets a say or climbs a soapbox. The American way....freedom to agree, disagree, and be told you're an idiot or a genius.

That was the year I saw them in concert in Miami. Fall of '79. Third row seats. A date. He won the tickets from a radio promo. Great seats. Unfortunately, it rained, so I was soaked (after taking so long to dress for my date, new silk blouse, etc). But I still danced and had fun, even if I looked like a drowned puppy.

And he was pretty hot back then, even with too-tight pants and that falsetto (that I never liked. His natural voice is soooo nice.)

Gosh, I suddenly feel ancient.

To call someone who has been an active member here for years a "troll" is offensive. Especially when some of the most aggressive name callers have only been here for a few MONTHS, as opposed to many of us who have had LCF as our home for YEARS. Shame on you, have some respect.

Discussion and even disention can be conducted with dignity and respect. If this doesn't apply to you, if you personally have been respectful to others despite having a forceful opinion, then obviously this isn't addressed to you. However, many of us who feel we've been pushed in the background by the agrressive posters, who persecute not only in public on this forum (and I've been really shocked by some of the things that have been allowed to stay posted) but also follow you in private and send you nasty PMs need to take a step back and get a grip.

I will not let my home make me feel unwelcome by newcomers belittling me or questioning my motives when I was here for the whole show.
Kattbelly,

I am one of the so-called newcomers. I don't feel like I came in to this thread with any hidden agenda, nor that being a 'newcomer' should prevent me from feeling free to post. I have spent many, many hours trying to help behind the scenes and if I have ever caused anyone to feel persecuted, it certainly was not my intention. I have tried to be clear about what I believed and felt was true. I know things tend to get a little raucous from time to time, but that is to be expected. This is not like any other thread here. And people do get stressed, exhausted, and disillusioned.

Wishing you a wonderful holiday.

Can the Heidi Diaz deposition be found online anywhere?

Sorry to be late to the controversy but I have just come back to this site after a long time away. I was posting here back when Kimmer was a frequently posting member. I did not even know she started her own diet plan. (Yes, I have been off low carb for too long! I am restarting now)
