I've seen MCD lady's pics and I think it's really her. She has many pics of before, during, and after and none of them are vague side shots or grainy/subjective to visual interpretation. I think she's the real deal, and she most likely sincerely feels she is helping people as well as helping herself.

However, I do think consumers should be aware that she is promoting not only a variant of a known diet scam, but a fancy form of rabbit starvation. While I am a firm believer in free speech/enterprise, but I also think it goes both ways and critics should be given equal audience to at least inform people about what they might be buying into. Also, seventy dollars is a lot of money to risk for most people on limited budgets. I can't stand the thought of someone poor but desperate to lose weight who chooses to fork over seventy dollars to the new messiah of low carbing instead of buying themselves much needed food or shoes.

Yes, there are thousands of diet plans across the Internet and we can't possibly police them all, but if we know something that others should be aware of we should speak out about and say something. JMHO, though.

I had a bunch of posts I was going to respond to, but I had to go live my "real" life for awhile. Yes, even I, disabled and homebound, have a real life I live away from the computer.

Personally, what people post here doesn't bother me at all, even when they come in and call us names or tell us to shut up. I mostly lurk, but I've been following this thread since about #3. I'm impressed with the massive amount of work done by the members here. The responses I've seen (or at least, the way I've interpreted them) to people who drop in to point out that the thread is losing focus on its original objective, yadda, yadda, yadda, almost always contain factual information in rebuttal of whatever the accusation has been. That's right and proper, IMO. And no lawsuit is ever pursued without chasing down "rabbit trails" that seem, on the surface, to be irrelevant. (I just wish I had the Duck Squad to assist me in the lawsuit I've recently brought against a scammer!)

I happen to hate scammers and con-artists with a passion. That's why I will fight the good fight against Heidi Diaz! She never harmed me in any way, but I was married to a man who was exactly like her, and who abused me emotionally and belittled me verbally for 7 years. We owned a very successful business, and he kept trying to figure out a way to turn it into a scam! I couldn't believe it! So, yeah ... I have a "thing" about scammers and con-artists. I'll fight 'em every chance I get.

My problem with the MCD is not just that it's an unhealthy plan. There are a million or more of those on the Internet. I have to wonder, though, how it is that all the people defending it so vehemently know with such certainty that the woman is on the up-and-up and being totally honest. Why on earth would anyone want to clone the site of a plan that's under such intense scrutiny as Kimkins is? It would have been simpler, and probably much cheaper, just to have the freelancer create a new, completely different site for her. She wouldn't have been noticed by the Ducks at all if she had done that. If all she wanted was a "private" site, there are plenty of places where very private groups can be convened. I belong to 2, myself, that are so private you can't even find them by searching for them. These groups won't accept anyone unless an existing member has met them in person, face-to-face, and is willing to vouch for the new member. If the other members vote to accept the new member, then the "newbie" receives the URL by e-mail. Oh, and there was no charge to set up either site! The "clone" thing was unnecessary and is weird, no two ways about it.

Okay. I've vented!

Now, I'll shut up and return to "Lurk Mode."

Hi everyone! I didn't want you to think I was neglecting this site. Been really busy behind the scenes and with home life.

I am so sorry we all have to feel the pressure of letting the public in. But here is the deal. If they are really ugly we will remove them from Camp. If they want to pay $20 to come back and be ugly again, we will repeat this process. We don't have to put up with the badgering nor will we. Eventually they will give up and leave us in peace. Or they can go broke trying to get the last jabs in.

I know it feels like a battleground. Here we are, armed and ready and KNOWING the opposing forces are closer... We will win. Please, please don't worry. It won't take long at all. And I appreciate that so many of you are concerned for me. I'll be OK. The way I see it is this: The best present LCF ever gave me was the ban button. Just look at where that has led us all! Right here to Camp where people are actually NICE, CARING and have COMPASSION for one another. No place I would rather be.

I personally do not understand this mentality. It's weird. Sometimes you just cannot pin down any logic in a situation which has no logic to find. Rather than us all becoming ragged trying to make sense of it all perhaps we should just ignore them. So, once we are public I hope you will all watch out for this "cult mentality" and if you see abuse report it to any admin right away. It may be a process to weed through but I can promise you all it will be OK in the long run.
