Why the fascination with Kimmer? #11

I was just online reading news, when I had a thought. You all may have already done this, but I thought I'd throw it out there anyway. Have any of you, particularly those in bigger cities, contacted your local news stations through their tip lines, or tip emails and informed them about the Kimkins scam? It seems a little odd to me that it has been in the mainstream news, though on a limited basis, yet the story hasn't been picked up by other TV stations yet. Most TV stations have a consumer news tip hotline and/or Email address. Have you thought about contacting them?

The urgency now, it seems, is to prevent others from joining and using their credit card. Heidi's scam has so many angles that mainstream news organizations seem to salivate over, so I'm just wondering . . . .

Also, what has been the response from Woman's World when they learned of the scam? Sorry, I'm just not up to date on the media goings on.

No white stretch pants, thank goodness. Sooo, I think I'll keep my fake orange crocs because I love them. Took my Irish inlaws camping in Yellowstone last summer, and my MIL wore them the whole time. I just sent her a pair for Christmas and she hasn't taken them off since.

(of course, they may not even be aware that they are supporting it, since Kimkins does have a history of using information without getting permission first. Which is why all those nice articles from dLife disappeared from the Kimkins site when dLife was notified.)

So, any money that Kimkins brings in, via checks, money orders or credit cards, belongs with the courts for the attachment. It was my concern that the checks and money order would be untraceable. I, for one, am excited about the credit card thing because it is, in fact, completely traceable. John is very aware of what is going on and is knowledgeable on the laws that are being broken if the additional money is not turned over to the courts.

At this point, Heidi should be attempting to do anything in her power to cooperate with the courts, but if she chooses not to, its just fuel being added to the fire. She would be not only showing the courts that she is unreliable and uncooperative (which I'm totally okay with because it just means we win faster) but she is also providing the authorities with further inclination to pursue criminal charges against her.

If Heidi doesn't understand by now that she is under a microscope (make that hundreds of microscopes) then the next question is *Is Heidi stupid (read arrogant) enough to commit credit card fraud on top of everything else?* Because at least with the CC's new members have a recourse when they join and then find out that KK is a starvation (crash) plan with no clinical proof that it's safe.

I was curious about the CC thing so tried to sign up---no did not go through with it---but you were routed through CC Bil.com for payment---but I did check out the new TOS you have to click ok before you sign up

I am way behind as usual but does anyone know who she is billing through? I assume she doesnt have her own merchant account and is using another third party processor, probably an offshore one but we can make them aware.

OK she is using ccbil that is interesting. They take a higher fee than paypal I believe. Shall the duckies warn ccbil that they are dealing with a hot potato? They also are quick to freeze your account on a whiff of financial wrongdoing.

I suspect Heidi is trying to run the kimpire as usual to show she was trying to keep her livlihood going otherwise it is an admission of guilt.

She needs to be brought to justice. Sorry to see baller4life was another to fall prey.

Yes, Chouter, we definitely want to continue to contact the local news media to attempt to get more coverage for the Kimkins Diet Scam. We also want to be sure to get the local news to pick up on the search for the woman in the Lawnchair Picture.

Do You Know This Woman Kimkins Scam

So please, folks, take a few minutes and visit the websites of your local news affiliates of the major networks and any other other local news shows in your area.

Look for the "contact us" page or see if they have a "news tip" or "story suggestion" link. Give them some brief info on the scam, perhaps giving them a link to the about.com Kimkins Diet Scam Update and/or maybe Christin, Deni and Becky's blogs. Also, be sure to ask them to include information about the Kimkinslawsuit’s Weblog, to help reach out to anyone else who hasn't heard about the scam and the opportunity to become a part of the lawsuit.

If we all work together on this, we'll definitely stand a better chance of getting the prime time national exposure this story needs and get the warning of the dangers of Kimkins poses out to everyone.

So far, the only response from Woman's World has pretty much been a non-response.

Carolyn, I got that one too. I didnt save any of my travel expenses so just opted for the $25. I was in Bosnia in '96. I flew over there earlier too but they had the cut off at 1995 didnt they?
