CJane, I understand throughly, considering I lost my Mother last month and this will be the first TG without her. Treasure every moment as we all know they do not live forever. Yummm...London Broil sounds good to me, or Prime Rib...not a big turkey fan either here, lol.

(((KAT))) I'm so sorry. I've experienced the loss of people very close to me, and I can relate to the holiday feelings (the feelings any time, really...but holidays can be especially hard). You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Mmm, Prime Rib! If I coulda afforded it, that's what I'd be having! Maybe next year, or...maybe for Christmas!! Yeah, I think I'll save my pennies. To heck with Christmas goose or ham...give me some big, fat cow meat!

OMG so glad it wasn't a stroke but yuck!!!! viral meningitis!!!??? Seriously bad! So happy she is on the road to recovery and can come spend TG with you! Puts life into perspective, right? Have a great day and love on her a bunch.

Kateinsac - and thank you for your well wishes! So sorry to hear about the loss of your mom, sweetie. There is never a "good" time for this but it somehow is so much worse to lose them around the holidays. (We lost my dad 14 years ago on Nov. 13th. It really is always with me still at this time of year.) and make today a celebration in her memory!!!

Re:Kimmer's Back on Track Challenge! Hours, Minutes ago

Remember about carb "regain". When we severely restrict carbs we force our liver to give up glycogen. Takes about 3-5 days depending on how carbed up you are. Once that happens, we have the "water whoosh". As long as we keep carbs very low the water stays away.

However, once we start adding carbs back (or have a binge/treat), the water zooms back on. The water will come back at some time ... suddenly or gradually if we gradually add back carbs. But it's coming back. Aiming for 5'ish pounds below goal is probably a good idea so we end up at our original goal idea.

xxxxxxxx - I agree 100%. Support is everything and in my humble opinion, our support is the best hand down. I've got my Kimkins bracelet on and it's going to remind me to circle the table. What's even more effective maybe, is standing back and letting everyone else go first. Psychologically that's very hard for me. Why? I'm not pro, but I think it goes back to growing up poor. We always had food, but it never seemed a sure thing. Then there was the time when I was 17 (long story, I'll save it ).

So today I'm going to circle. My family will think I'm nuts ... then again they probably already do. Becky, you've got to jump back in. Do your best today. If you absolutely positively cannot say "no" to a food, make it a small taste. Personally I think the "point" of a piece of pie is the best. If I break down to one half-forkful (no crust), I figure that's way better than a slice. Or maybe I'm rationalizing ahead of time. I'm the food excuse queen.

xxxxxxx - It's scary posting online at first. You aren't sure how things work, what happens, what you should do next. I know. It's the same for me. There are functions on this website I don't know how to use. I tried to go to Chat the other day and locked myself out! My signature box is empty becuase I don't know "how" to do anything. "Computer illiterate" would be an improvement for me, LOL. I can type and save. That's about it.

But I'll tell you what. The more you post and the more you experiment, the better you'll get ... and faster. You'll find the other members will be very generous with their help. We were all new once. We were all computer dummies once. (Well, I think infants are now born with computer knowledge ). Get back on track and do this with me! I need support just like everyone else. I know how to lose ... that's a cinch. It's staying on track, not letting "life" get in the way ... and figuring out maintenance where I stumble. I'll help you. You help me. Deal?

xxxxxxxxxxx - Hey you! Loved those photos of your pup! Yorkies are such smart dogs. I enjoy watching them in the Toy class at the Westminster or Eukanuba shows on TV. You're a camera pro? Maybe you can help me. For my front page photo my son took my photo front the front. Then it's uploaded to the computer (click & the photo displays on the monitor). I look plenty big on the monitor, but when we upload to the front page I look thinner. Why? I did a side photo to show more realistically but it doesn't look like the 4x6" photo I'm looking at either? Someone sent me a success photo the other day and she looked "shorter". Is it me?

I think Heidi is trying to cover any and all issues that we bring up on this thread. Of course she is reading it all.

Heidi is still a dollar short and a day late. It's not us she's trying to convince, but her KK'ers and the courts. She's already established her computer literacy and shot herself in the foot when she said above-" The more you post and the more you experiment, the better you'll get ... and faster. " Her fast typing skills and the hours she's spent at the keyboard are legendary here. And we have the P.I.'s testimony of the many hours he watched her typing at her upstairs window. She can now try to establish her dunce factor at the keyboard, but her ex-partner Catherine, Becky, and others have already testified in these threads and elsewhere about the flood of new subscribers and the long hours necessary for them to cope both while setting up Kimkins, and after the WW article surfaced. Dunces who don't learn any computer skills after 12-18 hour days fall by the wayside. Heidi has been at this for YEARS, and navigates effortlessly around the Web. Truly, I'm envious of her skills. But she works harder at laying false trails than any other excuse-maker I know. And the reason her signature box is empty is because she never knows whom she needs to be that night. Typing in "Heidi" would give her away when she wants anonymity the most.

She only mentions those things that have been brought up outside. Funny how the pic was a problem only after the photoshopping was mentioned.

Has ANYBODY heard anything in the last day or two from Tippy or SingingLass? Can anybody check and see who the PR director is, or whether that has been updated as well? I'm getting concerned about TT. She was counting, I'm sure, on the money she was going to have to spend and possibly she was cut off before she got her new car, increased salary, and whatever else she was promised. In which case, all the people here who easily predicted the handwriting on the wall for TT's sweeping changes and national tv gaffe's can take pride in their predictive powers.
And if TT is still there, wonder how she likes wearing a muzzle and short leash?

Heidi is a real piece of work.....

I just wish there was some way to join the lawsuit for me......

If it wasn't putting money in her pocket--I would join just to go on the site and raise some of these peoples awareness ---since they aren't as slap happy with the ban button anymore

I suppose I'll just have to make do with causing here grief with my blogging.....

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday with your family...

CJane---hope your mother enjoyed hers as well, you had alot to be thankful for..

pooticus----my thoughts will be with you as you go into surgery--hoping the powers that be will watch over you

Just wanted to say...I have read EVERY SINGLE WORD in all 10 threads. My, my but you ladies are busy!! You all ROCK!!!! It is about time this charlatan was brought to justice. I read her posts for years and the simple act of reading them put me into a state of "SNATT"...I can't imagine how incredibly painful (emotionally and physically) actually doing any of what she wrote must have been. My hat (if I wore one) is definitely off to all of you!!!

Pooticus, I am thinking good thoughts about your surgery. Hang in there!

Cjane, so happy to hear your mother did not have another stroke. I lost my dear mom in 2001, in July, a couple of months before Sept. 11. It took me an entire year before I could go to sleep without crying.

Katinsac--My heart is with you for losing your mother. I believe it is one of the most catastrophic events in a person's life. I know it is the hardest thing I have ever gone through.

I am worried about my own health. A CT abdominal scan just revealed a nodule (beinign) on one of my adrenal glands, and an abdominal aortic aneurism. I am seeing a vascular specialist next week on Wednesday and will see what she has to say. I have never had surgery before and am scared to death, but we will see.

I just came from an awful few months with my husband getting triple bypass surgery. He went into a coma for 3 days after the surgery and we thought we were going to lose him. He came home, but then, after 4 days, the chest started oozing and he was rushed back into the doctor's office, who scoped the wound and immediately ordered him to be admitted again. While we waited in the admission office for only a minute or two, his T-shirt all of a sudden was covered with blood. They rushed him into emergency and re-admitted him from there. They had to go in again and open him up a second time, with a plastic reconstructive surgeon working with the cardiac surgeon. They had to insert titanium plates because the bones and wires had moved. It was very very scary. But I certainly had things to be thankful for this Holiday.

Love and good thoughts to all of you who are going through rough times.

But you people here are strong and can do anything!

Of the two, the aneurysm is the more dangerous and will cause the least trouble. But many aneurysms get walled off and never cause any trouble. Surgery may be in your future, Barb, but it doesn't have to be a reason for fear. I hope she'll give you reassurance, but for sure, remember your cheering squad can be found at this site.

Ack! You had to get graphic. First, let me say I'm very happy you both came through this nasty experience. And bypass has been suggested to me by the specialist I saw last month. I still need to follow up with my own doc. So I'm about where you were a few months ago.
