Hi,

I am a newbie and found this website because of that morning show the other day. It piqued my curiosity so much, I googled about this diet and have been reading nonstop about this stuff for the past 2 days (instead of working at work, oops). It's like a soap opera....what a wacky story. It's almost too crazy to be true.

And the more I read about the actual diet plan, wow, it sounds really nutty and harmful.

Anyway...I am glad to have found this board because I need to lose weight myself...and because of insulin resistance I really need to be on a carb controlled diet (but something sensible)...so hopefully I will be able to find out what exactly sort of diet I should be on.

**Also how absolutely incredible that the members of this messageboard have uncovered this Kimkins diet scan. Such a weird and wacky, incredible story...I wouldn't be surprised if someone made a movie about this.

I can understand hiding one's identity on the internet and being ashamed to show your own pictures when you are so overweight...I've been there myself...but wow..I can't believe someone would commit fraud in the way that this woman apparently did..in such a brazen manner. Wow, just wow.

How sad is that? How would you like to wake up every morning knowing that the made up you was an internet hero and the real you just wasn't enough? Makes me feel a tad sorry for her.

Yes, it is really sad...when you get down to the heart of it. I think your post is very insightful.

I can personally understand/empathize with being ashamed of your weight to the degree of not wanting to reveal it to online aquaintances...I can even understand how things snowballed to some degree...but it's really hard to understand how she could allow herself to take other people's money under false pretenses.

I keep thinking if she was really just selling a good diet and a supportive community, maybe hiding her own appearance wouldn't be so bad, but from what I've read it seems as if she misrepresented a lot of other "success stories" and also her diet seems extremely unsafe to follow.

It's so weird. That's why I think it would make a great book or movie...if it could offer some sort of explanation for such behavior. I just can't imagine a morbidly obese woman offering advice to other people to basically starve themselves. Why did she make her diet so extreme, if she knew that even she couldn't follow it? That I really don't get.

Was it some sort of passive aggressive attack on people who were more successful in losing weight than she was/is? Or does she truly believe that it's safe to eat so few calories in a day?

Lola: Wow..Welcome..we are glad that you are here and found us.

Kimmer is on disability for mental illness and has been scamming people for years. So, this is just another con game to her. Many of us think that she enjoys watching people starve while she is eating sugar cookies from the front seat of her car. How sick is that?

We love low carbing here..the healthy way. The best way to get started is to find the induction thread and get going on Atkins. Buy the book..read the book..and find a group

It is a perfect time to start a diet since my birthday is coming up soon and so is the new year.

It is not incredible at all about the members of this board "uncovering" her scam, it STARTED ON THIS BOARD. She had so many people here telling her she should have her own website, she actually started one.

Well, you know in all actuality wasn't it Catherine who approached Kimmer/Heidi with the website idea? Shouldn't all the minions be praising Catherine for providing the website not KK/H.

"Dr." Mark is an acupuncturist, who likes to call himself "doctor" because he has a master's degree in oriental medicine from a school that lost its accreditation.

Currently, the State of Florida is investigating him.

I think that even TT knows that Mark is not a doctor and that it would be ludicrous to present him as their site "doctor" to anyone but the gullible kkettes.

So now after ALL this time and never posting once about all of it, I posted the day
of the tv show and now my membership was cancelled. I did request a refund, but it's cancelled with no refund! So I have written about it and we will see if I actually get one or not.

I requested a refund, they sent me an email which said it was ticketed. Then this morning they canceled my membership and as of now I have no refund. So.....

If you want to be part of the lawsuit, as I understand how things are supposed to work, you need to refuse or return any refund offered to you - assuming they even offer it.

The more people there are who join in on the lawsuit, the better. The Class Action won't get the site shut down all by itself, but the larger the class of plaintiffs is, the more likely this will attract the attention of the FTC, which does have the power to pull the plug on it.
