Here's the short version of my story:

Atkins-like eating got me from 122 to 104 in three months last year.

Kimkins-like eating then got me from 104-98.

I only began with binge-eating issues after eating such low calories.
(PB being my very favorite binge food).

I now maintain at 102, which seems a healthy weight for me, as I am quite small boned.

I still struggle with PB issues.

The reason I'm leaving the maintenance forum is because I feel that too mainy "maintainers" cannot accept healthy fats or carbs.
*And that is exactly the mentality that I am trying to free myself from.

Thanks to those of you who have supported me here!
Rebecca, you look great!

Your dad sounds like my FIL. Every time I tell him I want to go fishing with him, the first thing he says is that I'll have to get up at 4:00. All I can figure out is that it's his way of discouraging me from going.

KK sent me on a binge. I just don't deal well with deprivation. Did fine on an Atkins/Protein Power type approach for over a year, but after Kimkins, doing horrible! Thanks Kimmer!

At 5'2" she should at least weight 106-110# IMHO.
The "lollipop body" is a sure fire sign of being underweight. It's not right for your head to look out of proportion to the rest of you. IMO, Rebecca looks great. She posted in this thread, and I think her avatar tells the story.

She's lying when she says she never told people to use laxitives. There are STILL pictures on the internet of the red dress Russian bride that say she's Kimmer. She's taken people's money and banned them for no good reason. She's been followed and photographed by a private detective. She's had her lies exposed on the news and now on a talk show. There are blogs and web sites all over the internet dedicated to taking her down. She's being sued. She claims she sold her site to someone else, and then she disappeared from the face of the earth for a few weeks while SL and TT did all her dirty work. Now she's back. And she's acting like there's nothing wrong. Nothing at all.

There is something seriously wrong with Kimmer. Any normal human being would have slinked off into oblivion after being busted this badly. Not Kimmer. She's back, big as day, carrying on as if things are peachy, and she's just part of the big, happy Kimkins weight loss team - except now she's an active participant instead of the almighty Kimmer-weightloss-guru. Is that supposed to be what people paid for? To show HER how to lose weight? Can a person really be that delusional? I guess they can. Even more delusional are the people who continue to support her.

Lou

I am way behind on reading but this is IT in a nutshell!!! You know what, go ahead tweak your plan, but charge people for it??????????? WTH Yes delusional is the appropiate word here. I wonder how long TT would hang around if she wasn't getting paid. However she has backed herself in a corner now and is banned from here so she doesn't have a lot of places to go that don't know her and her reputation.

Was it in the comments found in the TRUTH in the month of October?

Actually, the Kimmer I know "knows it all" about everything! It must be wonderful to be her!

She would hang out until the earth came to a stand still......she isn't in it for the money....she is in it for the 'atta girl. She craves attention and recognition to the point of having addiction issues with it. She wants to be the center of attention and for things to all be about her.......geeze has she not seen my avitar? It is all about ME

As for the other part, "There is none so blind as he who will not see."

Heidi is still playing people the ballad of her alternate reality.

Cookies do cause water weight gain because they are carbs. When you first start low carb it takes a few days to exhaust your glycogen stores. When it does happen, you get the water weight loss "whoosh". Now, when you add carbs back (especially if suddenly), the water weight gain comes back quickly ... maybe even overnight.

It's tough. I'd say keep the cookies out of the house, but that's hard when you have kids. What does your challenge group say? Lots of successful people (and smart) are bound to have good ideas for you.
Please note, although no boardcode and smiley buttons are shown, they are still useable
Well, I see Heidi and Captain Morgan are still on speaking terms. Just as we suspected.

Avi is the correct short version for it... IINM (I don't know if that is a acronym yet or not for- If I'm not mistaken- but it is for me. LOL)

If you used Ava it looks like a person's name, well it can be a person's name.

Like email addy...for email address- add would look like a math problem.

That may have been because:

...it had been pointed out that the "Lady in Red" photos were being used in the newsletters.

...some of the articles in the newsletters were "borrowed" just like some of the after pictures and people wanted their information removed.

...various bits of incriminating evidence were included in previous newsletters.

...project "clean sweep" required sweeping lots of information under the rug.

...they don't realize that most of this stuff is still available via the wayback machine.

I think it is like an addict defending an addiction.

Dr. Kathleen DesMaisons has an interesting theory, backed by good research. She says many of us who were overweight had naturally-low levels of certain neuro-transmitters, like serotonin and endorphins. We overate to supply those brain chemicals.

Endorphins are natural opiodes, the body's natural pain relievers. So, the theory would be that there is a kind of chemical 'high', a euphoria, that people who are seriously not eating enough get. It is the body releasing endorphins to mediate the 'pain' of starvation ---- sort of like the famous 'runner's high'. Since we were hurting ourselves, our bodies medicated us with a brain chemical that can be highly addictive.

Eating carbs gives us endorphins. Those of us who are sugar sensitive often used carbs to medicate ourselves. Kimkins trades one addiction (carb-induced endorphin rush) for another (starvation-induced endorphin rush), kind of like a heroin addict switching to methadone. The addict is still addicted, just to a different substance.

It is harder to break an addiction than it is to simply switch the substance. I think that is why many find Kimkins easier than normal Atkins dieting, and why they 'protect' it so much. On Kimkins, we were not giving up those endorphin spikes; we were just getting them another way, which is easier that trying to adjust to normal or even low endorphin production.

There are things we can do to improve endorphin production, but it is not good to live in that spiked addictive state.

If we don't break the addiction to the endorphin spikes, we may eventually trade the VLCD spikes for the original spikes of carbs, alcohol, risky behaviors, or whatever.

Only, if we do, our brain has upregulated its opiode receptors to be even MORE sensitive than before, and our metabolisms have dialed down to be MORE sluggish than before. Double whammy.

So, we end up even bigger and more miserable than before, almost fated to bounce from one extreme to the other,

According to this explanation, Heidi K. Diaz is actually the perfect poster child for Kimkins, the epitome of exactly what can be expected from that diet.
