In your moments of weakness or just before, what do you do to stop yourself from taking that first bite of doom???? I want this so much and i have a deadline of May next year to do this, i know that it doesnt seem to be alot to loose in such a large period of time but when your losing in the week and gaining at weekends week in and week out it feels like i am unable to ever get to that final point of success.

My Comment:
These KK posts are some of the ones that make me SO sad.
Makes me want to jump through my computer screen and shake them and say "wake up! Food is not the enemy" If these aren't eating disorder thoughts - I don't know what is. Why are they following this? Why can't they see what they are doing to themselves? Why doesn't their family see what they are doing to themselves? The first poster is only 140 lbs. Yet still talks of "the bite of doom"
I just don't get it. Why don't they understand that if they didn't DEPRIVE themselves constantly, if they weren't starving themselves, they would probably make better or healthier choices when they were faced with the need to eat something "off plan"
They are surely setting themselves up for complete failure and self hate by thinking this way.
Sorry for venting... it just makes me sad!
Snipped for length.

I know why they can't just stop. While on Kimkins, food becomes the enemy, no matter WHAT the admins/kimmer/FG/D-Mark say. Anything that isn't on the list is evil. As many suspect, they're going from one eating disorder to the next. And sure, the admins can say "well, we never told anyone food was evil." Yeah, but you endorsed a plan that encouraged people to gradually believe that.

Since all this started, I've been struggling to figure out what to do about my diet. I was on Kimkins until the beginning of October, when the sh*t hit the fan. When I realized what was going on, I thought to myself, "eh, I don't have much to lose, staying on Kimkins for another couple months won't hurt." REGARDLESS of what was revealed. The plan worked for me, I could lose weight and not feel sick.

In fact, I really haven't had any negative side effects from Kimkins, except when my calorie level for the day was around 450. That lasted ONE day. I was so weak, sickly, and "hungover" feeling that I vowed to never do that again (I'd had two turkey sausages for lunch, water all day, and I think a turkey burger for dinner...that's IT). I started researching healthy calorie amounts for one day and wanted to educate myself on the side effects that were occuring for people on Kimkins. I hadn't experienced any hair loss, but like an article said the other day, that doesn't happen until months AFTER changing your diet. So I'm hoping I didn't shock my body too much.

...anyway. Last week, I decided to do something more South Beach-esque. I wanted to add in whole grains and fruit to my diet. No junk food, no heavy carbs (grains or not). Just a slice or two of bread a day and a banana or something. But I realized...I was scared to do that. I had officially lost 20 lbs on Sunday from a mixture of Kimkins and my own dieting. I thought that the moment I ate a piece of bread, that would be it. My cravings would come back, the weight would come back, and everything I'd managed to lose would return. I'm not saying Kimkins did that to me, really, as any low carb program would probably give me the same feeling.

But that's their problem right now. They're addicted to losing weight. They like seeing the scale go down, even if they are starving themselves. I've caught myself multiple times thinking, "I'm going to weigh myself after I use the bathroom, I bet it'll be even lower!" I never got into using laxatives, but I know many people do. As soon as I started seeing signs of a new eating disorder and obsession with losing weight, I decided to stop Kimkins.

I was only on it for a month or so (truly, that is). My weight loss has significantly slowed, but honestly...I'm not in a hurry to lose anymore. I was, believe me, especially when I saw the challenges going on and results other people were having. I was part of the "Lose 30lbs by Halloween" challenge. That didn't happen, and that's okay. I wanted to have all my weight gone by 2008. That would have been wonderful. But now...I'm more concerned about getting my eating habits under control and eating the right things. I'm adding exercise into my day to accompany the new grain and fruit additions to my diet. I just want to eat the way people were meant to eat.

I'm scared I'm going to mess up somehow; scared I'm going to let myself say, "just one more piece, it won't kill me." I've been adding in a piece of whole grain bread a day to start off, and thus far, no change to the scale. I do miss the encouragement and friendship I had on Kimkins, as that was something I looked forward to...now I'm pretty much on my own.

Sorry for the lengthy post, I've been meaning to get that off my chest for a while. I figured I'd mix in my own personal feelings in conjunction with trying to explain why some of the Kimkins members are still holding tight to the diet. I just hope they come to the same realization that I did before it's too late. Losing weight as fast as you possibly can means you starve yourself. Plain and simple. You may damage your body permanently for quick weight loss results that will be 90% temporary. I made the mistake last year of thinking to myself, "I'll lose the weight, then maintain it myself." Wrong. It will never happen. I wish people could understand that and stop being in such a hurry.

Welcome to LCF's..we are glad you are here..We have many loving groups that would love to have you. Many of your old KKers are probably at other sites, but KKins-free and doing healthier plans. Honestly, if you haven't read Dr. Atkin's books or Dr. Barry Grove's book Natural Health and Weight Loss, you need to keep a good lowcarb book or two or three in your library for reference.

As to adding the grain in the a.m., that CAN be a problem for people. It's not so much the weight gain, but it can make it hard to keep on plan. Grains are the last things to add in Dr. A.'s opinion.

I'm so glad that you posted..Do your research and read the posts here and hopefully, you can find a life-long healthy plan..

Welcome bluefunnybunny! You are right - there were some great gals on the site and I too miss them. I never did KK's WOE - but just enjoyed the women.

I'm so glad you decided to stop the low calorie diet before you were fully entrenched in an eating disorder.

There is a thread listed under the Kimmer Thread for people that are no longer doing Heidi's plan with a ton of suggestions on how to get back to healthy eating. If you haven't already - check it out.

You are not alone here .... we are all here for you. I appreciate you taking the time to post your story and again It's nice to meet you.

Are you saying the segment on dieting fraud will be aired this coming Friday? Gosh that was fast. They must have found someone that was willing to be interviewed.

Well, this is the "word" about town. They want the show to air Friday. I'm sure there will be other diets on this segment, but we all know that the Kimkins saga could be its own mini-series!!!

Yes, Cheryl. I went to the Fox 35 webpage and clicked on the listing for the show. Diet scams is one of the segments mentioned. They do not mention Kimkins by name, just diet scams. That's all it says -- very little information.

I think that anyone who has a weight problem deals with a dysfunctional relationship with food to one degree or another. We are all trying to figure out how to co-exist with this thing we need called nourishment without going overboard with it. In my case, Kimkins set me up for failure. After being on it for a month or so, the sheer deprivation took its toll on me and when I went off of it, I went out of control. I hope this poster fares better than I did.

I think they have absolutely no conscience about stealing other people's work. It's what they do.

I SO relate to the weighing before and after using the toilet! You do get addicted to seeing that lower number on the scale. I think at one point in time, I would have cut something off just to see the scale change. It's a sickness!

No, you're not on your own now. We're glad you're here.

The "hurry up and lose" mentality is part and parcel of the Kimkins plan. Kimmer made it sound like you were doing something wrong if you didn't lose at least a pound every day, and three or four days without a loss was a "stall". SHE is responsible for instilling into people's minds that this is some sort of a race, and if you lost slowly you were a failure. When I see people still posting like this, I just so badly wish there were some way to hold her criminally liable, but it will never happen. It just goes to show you that you have to be really careful who you look up to, and that it's not wise to let people influence your thinking when you don't know who they are.

Yes, an admin posted a large number of holiday recipes and they were followed by this post:

Gary you and are on the same wavelength. I was looking at the LowCarb Luxury site just last night and looked at all the recipes you posted for Thanksgiving. LOL its so funny how Kimkins members think along the same lines.

Nobody said it was all plagiarized. What we are saying is that there definitely is material on that website that has been bastardized from other sites or other sources, and lots of it! However, much of the original stuff has been removed because the authors have departed and asked for it to be removed, as you well know.

I received this in an email. Now this could get very interesting! Apparently it was posted by TT.

The Mike and Juliet TV Show
It appears that Singinglass and I are going to NYC this Friday for a taping of the show! They are looking for diet scams and we have been reported as such by our opposing forces. Now WE know better and have a chance to show the world once and for all of just how much Kimkins means to us.

I need YOUR success stories to take with me. Post them here! Add your before and after pics too if possible. And anyone who has lab works to share, include them.

We are very excited for having this wonderful opportunity!

And anyone who can get to NYC and would like to be on the show can PM me.

OK, Kimkinettes! I leave it to you. Please post the stories ASAP right here.

I'm sorry but this HAS to be a joke ! She would never have the nerve to go on tv about KK.

I really think she has read this thread and is pulling a joke. Of course she WILL have an excuse why they couldn't make the show.
NO WAY !!!
