I agree that the "information leak" is suspicious, to put it mildly. There's too much info that got into the hands of Emo Boy - I mean Dr. Mark - to be sloughed off. Actually, his reply was very much in character with what he's presented so far - he's anxious to be perceived as a "good guy" and a nice, helpful person, and I honestly don't think he has a malicious bone in his body. OTOH, I don't think he's gifted with street smarts. If so, his response would be much different. He's not used to being put on the defensive, that much is clear, and he uses his niceness as a shield.

If he's interested, I could give him a lesson in how to handle complaints, based on my 17 years in hospital administration. I'll give him a discount on my usual fee of $59.99!

You might ought to make the phone call first to let him know you will be forwarding the letter from Dr. Mark. If you only send it (or a copy of it), you have no way of knowing that it will get into the right person's hands. Things like these are easily mis-handled. I deal with the Department of Professional Regulations, The Board of Cosmetology and The Board of Health for the Sate of Florida and I know all too well that that these types of mistakes happen all the time. Trust me, been there done that. Things like this happen everyday. JMHO

And if he is "practicing" within the realm of what he is quaified to do, licensed appropriately, etc. then you cannot "ruin his life" by raising questions.

Firstly, I find the guy a little too defensive.

Secondly, I too would have thought that this type of complaint would be anonymously as well and that the place where you complained to should have explaining to do because now this person has your address. Not that I would think in a minute that he would do anything other than write a letter, but still. "Complaintents" identities and addresses aren't normally given out. How odd.

I agree with all...something isn't right here. In my opnion, even if the Board told him who complained, I doubt they would have given your address, just your name. I tend to agree that after he complained and had your name that the rest came from the Kimpound (bow wow), lol.

Hey All,
Thanks for the GREAT advice. I did call the investigator and he seems like a great guy who is doing a very through investigation (which is NOT over yet). He was faxed a copy of the letter, which he very much wanted. I can't go into too much detail here, but he is very interested in any information about dr. Mark that anyone has -- screen shots, etc. I remember back on thread 7 or 8 someone said they were a student at a school where he taught and where he was let go from -- the investigator is very interested in any and all information. I don't feel comfortable posting his information for public viewing, but if you have any information you want to share with his ongoing investigation, please pm me and I will give you his contact information, or I can forward the information to him if anyone does not want to get too involved.

The investigator had to release the complaint because the board decided to do an investigation. On the complaint it has my name and address. The investigators secretary said I could have filed as 'anonymous, but the form did not say that I had that option (kind of upset about that). In any case, I'm not sorry I filed, I just hope he and those he knows aren't psychotic, having my mailing address and all. Oh well, such is life.

The letter was not sent on official paper and was postmarked from 33781, which seems to be Pinellas Park, Fl. I hope it wasn't someone else besides him sending the letter, because they certainly did him no favors.

Can't help but wonder if he's really so stupid/unprofessional to write a letter like that~ but then again, he is associated with KK/TT

ETA~ but there were family pictures enclosed, right? Sort of makes it seem authentic~

well sending you the letter wasn't one of his most brightest moments...sounds like it is only going to hurt him more. when Honeybee comes back, I think she has a lot more info you could use to send on to the investigator. better keep an eye on the KK site and see what he is up to and how long he lasts!

Oh gosh am I relieved you sent that letter! The Irish in me is leaking out my pores! Nothing drives me more nuts than someone being a lippy snot and not being able to say anything back. But you came out on top by faxing his tirade to show his true character.

I’m thinking of writing him back, although he did not put a return address on his letter. . . hmmmmm.
Oh well dr. Mark, this will sound callous to such an upstanding and moral citizen, but I don’t care a rat’s behind about your personal life – I DO care about the lives of people you may be harming with your vast medical background and ability to practice across multiple specialties that normally take years of formal training and licensure by reputable boards, but you can practice without censure because you’re an acupuncturist. I’m still waiting for the Division of Medical Quality Assurance to get back to me on their findings. If Florida allows this kind broad scope of ‘medical’ practice without proper licensure I would warn everyone in that State to do a through investigation of their own health care providers. Oh, and I have no “hate” inside, just a healthy dose of fear and skepticism. . . as I said before, I’m not attacking anyone. . . an individual with proper licensure practicing within the guidelines of their specialty has nothing to fear; individuals check on real doctor’s and lawyers credentials all the time, but how many of those doctors and lawyers send off letters to the one inquiring spewing personal info, photos and the claim that someone is trying ’to ruin his life?’

Suggestions- Keep the envelope in which the letter came.
Do not contact him in response to the letter.
You have already sent the letter to the investigator so that was the correct thing to do.
How very odd for "Dr." Mark to try to divert the topic from one of facts to one of emotion. He must have taken debating 101 from Kimmer at Kimkins Institute
