OT: BTW, gang, for those of you so inclined to do so, please say a prayer for my mother. She was admitted to the hospital yesterday morning as she's possibly had a stroke. I've been at the hospital for most of the afternoon/early evening, and will be back there tomorrow.
Very sorry to hear about your mom, Cjane!

Amen. My avatar shows my progression after WLS - over TWO YEARS, from 350 to 175. It's definitely faster at first - 90 in the first 6 months for me. She didn't have WLS or go on a diet. As several here have pointed out, the pictures have been altered to fake weight loss. Gosh, I am SO SURPRISED. What was that about a lying liar who lies? Gah.

As I noted in another post, it appears that Heidi actually had WLS already several years ago. If this is true, Heidi's not alone with her regain. It's unfortunate, but not unusual - some statistics say that 50-80% of WLS post-ops regain most or all of their lost weight by 5 yrs. out. I knew this going in, and hope & pray to be one of the 20-50% who keep it off.

Edited to add: Before anyone jumps on me for saying this, please note that I am NOT defending the woman or what she did.
I'm just saying that losing 23 pounds is a significant chunk of fat and I say this from my own experience from back in 1997 when I lost 26 pounds in a month doing Deal A Meal....and I was close to 300 pounds when I started that diet.
After that weight loss even my own sister noticed that I looked quite lot slimmer from the waist down (where I tend to store a LOT of my excess weight)
That is totally awesome for you!
To see the loss that was posted in the pictures -- well it would take more then 23 lbs to see that ---- even for a sister ( grin ) relatives are funny that way..

Keep up the good work!

23 lbs the first two week at her size would likely be mostly water weight. If I did that I would be very close to goal -- it is all relative
Lets see how she does.. I am sure she will post a quality picture like she did in the red dress this time..

btw I just bought a 23 lb turkey tonight.

This story headlined my Yahoo news this morning. Maybe HeidiK should enter the competition next year. Bet she would win!

LONDON (AFP) - The "world's biggest liar" has been crowned, after telling a tale about a German World War II submarine invading Britain to capture digital television decoders.

John "Johnny Liar" Graham won the annual competition of tall tales, which is held at the Bridge Inn in Santon Bridge, in the heart of Britain's Lake District national park.

The 69-year-old claimed he stumbled across the U-boat as it prepared a raid on the nearby town of Whitehaven, which has become the first in Britain to switch from analogue to digital television.

Graham, who has won the title five times before, also said he caught a cod that was nine-foot (2.7-metres) long.

"It was a true story," Graham insisted to BBC radio Friday.

The event, which now draws tourists and competitors from around the world, is a homage to a local pub owner called Will Ritson, who regaled his regulars with shaggy dog stories in the 19th century.

Among his claims were that turnips grown in the region were so big people could live in them.

Recent winners have included one competitor who claimed the mountainous Lake District was formed not by ice or volcanic action but by large moles and eels. Another claimed to have discovered the existence of mermaid farms.

Competitors have five minutes to tell the biggest fib without the aid of props. Politicians and lawyers are barred from entering as they are judged to be too skilled at telling porkies.

CJane, my prayers and best thoughts for your mom and your family. Take care of yourself during all that's going on, too. A 5-minute walk around the hospital or comforting cup of tea can be a great pick-me-up. Tell your mom that the Duck Squad is rooting for her!!

Note the front edge of the shirt. In the front-on picture the whole bottom edge of the shirt is in line with the green bracelet. However, in the side view picture, the bottom of the shirt (at the front) only extends down to a point about half way between elbow and bracelet.

There's just no explanation for that other than alteration!!!

Dax.
I have some button front blouses that slide up in front for some reason. If I've just tugged it down, it looks fine, but if I've forgotten it, the front hem can be much higher than the back. Not attractive, it makes me so mad! The things you don't notice in the dressing room! Anyway, when it rides up that way, you can definitely see that there's too much fabric on my upper back. I don't see that in her side photos, though.

If I were posting for photos online, for sure I'd tug that hem down, and for sure I wouldn't post one like that.

Long story short - the riding up hem can happen, but I still agree with you that's not what happened.

----------------------------

Side note, unrelated to the post I am responding to... I think there is merit in sifting out fake and altered photos, but can we not comment on how 'awful' her body looks? I'm sure there are people here who have been or are heavier than even the worst photos of Kimmer. I get that these people didn't sell a $60 diet plan based on fraud, but still it may be hurtful to them. I have had perfectly happy days wrecked by people who are much thinner than I am talking about how disgustingly fat they are. I can see how something similar could happen here.

Hi gals..Lots of posts this morning. CJane, sending prayers up for your mom and hugs to you and your family.

Yes, Kimmer did have WLS and it didn't work longterm..Nothing worked longterm for her. Kimkins will definitely not work longterm for her because she hasn't learned to eat in a maintenance style. She is either fasting/starving or gorging...Now, who in their right mind would take weight loss advice from someone like that..NOW that they know..

Loved the Dilbert toon..It's perfect.

I also just saw Deni's success story on the home page ... those must cycle through some sort of rotation.Tempts me to pay the 60 just to see what other garbage is on there ... but, alas, I won't. I DO have a life and other things to do. I think I'll go wash my shoelaces ....

It's so hard to tell, since he goes from sitting to standing - that can really change weight distribution. Her posts are at such different distances that it's hard to tell, too. I'm sure our photo wizards could do some investigation. In fact, I bet they will!

I'm looking closer - are before/after Brian the same guy??? The seated guy doesn't look like he'd be as tall as the standing guy is.
