Does anyone here still follow the Kimmer diet?

I have been away from the boards for a long while and have just been reading up on all of the controversy. I can't beleive it, isnt that crazy. I was reading some of the posts defending her and was just wondering if anyone would possibly still put themselves through her diet seeing the news shows talking about her. SOrry if this topic has been so overdone, just its new news to me and quite shocking. How dare she? I hope she goes to jail for a long long time.

Hop over to the Kimmer threads under "other plans" if you have 48 straight hours to read you can find out all about it in the "What's the fascination with Kimmer?" saga.

Now you are doomed to change that adorable cat avatar for a duck that looks like
millions of other ducks.

On a more serious note there is a whole forum devoted to the fascination of Kimmer
if you want to catch up.

I just came back also and I am COMPLETELY lost over the Kimmer thing too. I don't know where to start and none of it makes sense to me. Only thing I figured out was, she started her own site and charges money?!?!?

I used to think she had good ideas, back in the day-but I can't figure out what happened. And I was also wondering about all the "ducks" everywhere, lol.

You know I don't have any idea what the controversy is all about but I do know that when she used to post here I gave her plan a try and it really did work for me. Yes I would do it again. If I remember correctly it is just a REALLY BASIC Strick atkins type plan...LF meat veggies no processed meats ect...

Kimmer aka Heidi Diaz is a fraud- she is a morbidly obese woman, who practically lives on her computer- having made up all of the ppl helping her except Catherine who had the good sense to leave.

Her diet is the unhealthiest diet- definitely setting up for further health problems down the line- even Christin who was featured on Woman's world jumped ship, and many who have done her diet have found their hair falling out, and other problems- any time that someone goes below 1200 calories, they are jeopardizing their health- even if weight is lost- gonna eat that way for the rest of your life? Think about it- check out slamboard.com for pics of the real kimmer... then decide if you want to end up looking like her!

yep! almost all of her pics on her site were taken/stolen from Russian Bride sites. She is NOT the woman in the red dress nor did she ever lose the weight she claims she did.

I too had the curiosity of the Kimmer diet plan or Kimkins. If you want to lose weight stick to Atkins or something like it. The Kimmer plan has done alot of harm to others....sure they lost weight and fast but the consequences were and are severe. If Atkins or like plans are not appealing then talk to your doctor about healthy weight loss.

Most of the Kimkins dieters have been forced underground ... or to other sites.

Most concise synopsis of the whole Kimkins scam:

3 Fat Chicks on a Diet Official Website for Weight Loss Support - Kimkins: Anatomy of a Diet Scam

Sort of a play-by-play of what's happened:

Kimkins Exposed

The kimkins exposed site has a plethora of links on the left side of the blog - Don't miss the KTLA expose news stories, and the PI surveilance tapes. Be sure to read the blogs by Deni, Christin, and Becky too.

The Open Bench

The Journey

Winning Weight Loss

The blogs have been a little quiet lately... but the class action lawsuit has been filed, so things are moving right along.

I'm confused as to why a couple of ex-members are still pictured on her site like Christen and Deni?

Yeah that was basically my question if any of the kimkins folks still followed her diet still. I did do the meat and egg diet, but never really followed her advice... i never restricted my calories and I ate veggies........ I guess you could say I just did a lower carb version of atkins....

I just noticed the kimkin group threads were gone and was just wondering since some of those posts i read through( didnt read them all too long) were defending her saying she helped so many people on here. I mean really what a whopper of a scam... did you ever go in and read her fit day's she went all out on that scam. Well I tell you one thing- she definitely still looks like the first "before" picture from the news shows.....

The kimkins diet is really nothing new.
It was Stillmans with very low calorie limits,
plus she advocated fasting- which she did using diet coke!

So unhealthy!

But now, knowing what the most of us do know... it is highly likely that she
never did the diet at all- or had one hell of a rebound weight gain!

We have sent multiple Cease and Desist e-mails and she has been ignoring them. I too was banned and she continued using my pictures and story. I think she finally removed the pictures but changed my name to something totally different in my posts...

No problem ... I know it's hard to keep up with the latest news. Now all is quiet because of the lawsuit. Plus many gals have been fainting, losing their hard and experience heart palpitations and ended up in the emergency department. It's not pretty! Plus after seeing those PI pictures - Heidi/aka Kimmer weighs over 300# in my honest opinion. It truly is sad.

By the way congrats on your weight loss. You look fantastic. How long did it take you to shed those pounds?

i wanted to ask, is the 3-day meat/egg fast still a good idea as far as a jumpstart into atkins?

When I am very strict I basically eat eggs/meat/salads/cheese - and as much as I want. I just don't stick to meat/eggs and I don't count calories. It still works - without hair loss and fainting not to mention heart palpitations.

thanks i gotta do something here to get myself into the right frame of mind, i've been steadily gaining since straying from low-carb! meat/eggs has worked for me in the past, i just thought with all the hullabaloo that her plans weren't worth the risk anymore.

They aren't worth the risk.
As Cheryl pointed out, do the M&E but don't go below 1200 calories.
Do Fitday and keep an eye on your totals, it's not worth it to lose weight and mess up your body.
Go do some reading in the 'fascination' thread if you have time, there are plenty people there that did go very low (500 calories) and are feeling the effects.
I never went below that point but I did follow her advice for awhile.

And I lost hair, stamina and quite possibly can attribute my Hashimoto's (lowthyroid) to eating like this.
Not pretty.

Good luck!

KQT..I would suggest you go find a copy of the original Atkins book ( 1972 version) It has a very diffrent "induction" then any of the other versions done after this one. His original version was much more strict then what "atkins" is today.

I had known ( or so I thought) Kimmer for many many years from this site. We had e-mailed and talked ( mostly debated) many of her ideas man many times. I think when I watched her take Atkins and Stillman's..combine them and call it Kimmers ( or her followers did according to her) I knew it was not going to end well. Total power corupts totally.

It's totally mind-boggling to me that she had never lost the weight she had claimed..and led soo many astray.

Many of these people lost more then just their money by following her..they lost their health. Some may even end up in jail.

The whole thing is just mind-boggling for someone who knew her before "Kimkins"
