Ok y'all look at the information and weigh-in on things.
It may be that something is missing or that there is more to this than we have found yet?? Not sure, but there is a connection somehow between Coconut Grove Fitness Togehter and Fitness Guru Nick Clark if they are not one in the same. But I have to go to any appointment so I will have to check back later. ![]() |

So are Nick Clark and Andy Clark (under "Trainers") the same person? Co-owners? It says Andy is manager/owner. But press release says "Nick" is the manager/owner.

Don't know....I noticed that too. Maybe the same person but it was odd to have in the press release Nick Clark as the name of the manager but then use Andy Clark on the website if that is the only manager?

Why didn't I think of that?Quote:
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia This article is about the logical fallacy. For other uses, see Straw man (disambiguation). A straw man argument is an informal fallacy based on misrepresentation of an opponent's position.[1] To "set up a straw man" or "set up a straw man argument" is to create a position that is easy to refute, then attribute that position to the opponent. Often, the straw man is set up to deliberately overstate the opponent's position.[1] A straw man argument can be a successful rhetorical technique (that is, it may succeed in persuading people) but it is in fact a misleading fallacy, because the opponent's actual argument has not been refuted.[2] Its name is derived from the practice of using straw men in combat training. In such training, a scarecrow is made in the image of the enemy with the single intent of attacking it.[3] It is occasionally called a straw dog fallacy, scarecrow argument, or wooden dummy argument. Setup A straw man argument can be set up in the following ways, by: 1. Presenting a misrepresentation of the opponent's position, refute it, and pretend that the opponent's actual position has been refuted.[1] 2. Quoting an opponent's words out of context -- i.e., choose quotations that are not representative of the opponent's actual intentions (see contextomy).[2] 3. Presenting someone who defends a position poorly as the defender, refute that person's arguments, and pretend that every upholder of that position, and thus the position itself, has been defeated.[1] 4. Inventing a fictitious persona with actions or beliefs that are criticized, and pretend that the person represents a group of whom the speaker is critical. 5. Oversimplifying a person's argument into a simple analogy, which can then be attacked. However, carefully presenting and refuting a weakened form of an opponent's argument is not always itself a fallacy. Instead, it restricts the scope of the opponent's argument, either to where the argument is no longer relevant or as a step of a proof by exhaustion. [edit] Examples An example of a straw man fallacy: Person A: I don't think children should play on busy streets. Person B: I think that it would be foolish to lock children up all day. By insinuating that Person A's argument is far more dramatic than it is, Person B has side-stepped the issue. The straw man person B has set up is the premise that "The only way to stop children running into the busy streets is to keep them inside all day", which is not person A's position. Another example: Person A: We should legalize marijuana. Person B: No! Any society with unrestricted access to drugs loses its work ethic. The proposal was to legalize marijuana. Person B has exaggerated this to a position harder to defend: "unrestricted access to drugs".[1] |

Here's the link to the press release with a photo of Nick Clark. I think he's FG. Andy looks like his brother, maybe.

I haven't gotten to the end of this yet... but wanted to jump in and say that I connected "Nick Clark" to Coconut Grove the first day he arrived at KK. But, Honeybee I think the guy to the right (in the group photo) of the one you have the picture of looks more like the other pictures I've seen of him (Fitness Guru). Hope that makes sense. Anyway, the first night we started talking about this guy I did a search because I live in Florida and was interested in the fact that his name came up for both Sarasota and Coconut Grove and if I remember it right, he had just moved their recently. Don't know if this helps at all but... I thought I'd put it out their for you guys. I did have both sites up that night and don't know if I have the info on the computer... but I'll see. OK - carry on. |

[quote=HoneyBee2;9427829]Fitness Guru in Coconut Grove-
I think this is the new Fitness Guru site and it has the group pic that I posted for anyone to comment on as to whether it is Nick Clark (FG) or not. but maybe the picture to the right on his website is a better one to view....Doesn't that look like the guy (fit Guru) that was pictured in the old website that used to be linked on the kimkins site? FG site? Here is the picture I am referring to... I think the guy, second from the right, looks more like him. Maybe Andy's brother? ![]() |

MJR...I think they guy second from the right looks like the "dark" picture and the big one on the far right looks like the second picture. So maybe they are the same. The group pic does not look like the guy has a gap in his teeth. I don't know. Does it matter now that he left the bad site?

This is a link to another news story. The picture is of Nick Clark. I would bet that Andy is his brother and Nicole (see the link in my post above) is Nick's wife.
