Im sorry, the mean part of my mind is coming out. Im picturing her Nov. 1st, jumping up and down, baby powdering her stomach, huffing and puffing trying to stuff everything into a TEENY TINY girdle while a brand new red dress lays out on her bed.

Now that would be a sight!!

If TT and SL do not want people to comment on "old" threads, then they should lock every thread at the end of the day!! People should ask their questions, hope they get an answer and then at the end of the day...if no one responds...oh well! lol I myself have gone through threads over there when i was there and some were not from the same day. You look at the topic and see which you think you can help with or comment on. Isn't this the purpose of the "subscribing" to a thread also? So if you asked a question you can be notified by e-mail when someone answers or to go back to a thread you found interesting and want to follow? So what if it was 3 weeks ago...maybe you were gone, maybe it was a topic of great interest to you and you just had to comment. I know being lurker now, there were several times I wanted to comment on something but knew I could not or I'd be booted again! lol I understand TT's comment is really trying to see if someone is trying to cause trouble by bringing up something that had been asked a while ago, but....too bad. Not everyone is evil and has ulterior motives...TT, get over it!! If you don't like it...lock the daily threads. Just my .02

I'm imagining the tear jerking, heart wrenching excuse she's going to have for not showing up.

Realistically speaking, if you were her, would you show up?

I think she is going to sweet talk some stupid lawyer into letting her be interviewed over the phone for her deposition.

Well, John's paperwork says in person so let's all prey she shows!! Would love to be there even if this isn't an open forum for it...fly on the wall? I'm sure John will give us all a lot of insight into what transpires (what he can tell us).

I am sure it would involve an imaginary foster kid and some type of crisis.

He is bound by certain laws of confidentiality; so I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't comment for 2 reasons. 1. Because he can't - he's part of the judicial system. 2. Because he can't - there's nothing to say. Heidi didn't show up. I don't know how Heidi reacts to the law, but based on some of her actions, I'd say contempt is part of it. After all, if she misses the deposition, what can they do to her that she doesn't already have coming? (It's that "What If" thinking of ours, Honeybee.) Although apparently her apartment is being watched, will she be there by the morning of Nov. 1st? Is she there even now? Since her new vehicle is apt to have been seized, what's to prevent her from ordering a good working used vehicle over the Web, having it delivered to a nearby address and paying with cash from her pillowcase, then driving away to a predetermined hiding place? (Hey, you listening , Heidi?) There are all sorts of scenarios we could imagine, but as Heidi doesn't do exactly as we expect (the sane and logical stuff), she might just show up in new black stretch pants and a flattering floral top, WITH a good list of excuses that will take weeks to sort through. Or not.

Yeah, I understand SMP...just wishful thinking on my part. If she does not show (which I really do not expect her to), would there be paperwork filed then stating she did not show? Because this is just a deposition, could they state she automatically loses the case or does that only happen if they went to trial? I have no clue about the law other than I do not want to break it! lol

I'm not a lawyer, nor do I play one on TV, Kat. And there are some big differences between American and Canadian laws. But I will assume that missing her date would cause an arrest warrant to be sworn out for her, and then she becomes a wanted fugitive. But after seeing how Interpol caught up to a notorious pedophile who trickily changed his face and Internet whereabouts, I'm more than ever aware that it's getting harder to hide. And just getting a new laptop and ISP won't keep her safe, since she is drawn to a scam like a moth to a candle. She'd show up again, sure as anything.

An optometrist (OD) is as much a doctor as a dentist (DDS/DMD) is. They had to complete a 4 year medical education. My sister in law is a dentist and I know she can prescribe meds. She had many courses similar to medical school, and had 4 years plus an extra 1 year residency at a hospital (including seeing patients in the ER).

Kat- From what I can tell the summons states that she has to report in 30 days, but I think because of this being a "fast track" case it defaults to the Nov. 1st date and it states if she does not comply she could lose the case by default.
Click on the screen shot that I took of the summons below with that statement.

And my old chiropractor was entitled to his doctor title (I asked him once!), having had at least 4 years of medical school and advanced training in muscles and skeletal misalignments. But unlike the current crop here in BC, he was also licenced to take x-rays, administer thermal heat treatments and various other little goodies. Too bad he's now retired - he kept hubby and myself walking properly for many years, and warded off my pneumonia several times. He couldn't prescribe, however. An opthamologist is a qualified eye doctor, prescribing meds and performing surgery, etc. He has all that regular doctors have, plus several years extra, in education. Therefore, he can have more initials after his name. But I trusted my old chiro more than most medical doctors, since his education was ongoing till he retired.

I don't think an arrest warrant would be the first step if she misses the deposition. Typically, plaintiffs will file a motion with the court stating that she failed to show and requesting an order to compel the deposition at a rescheduled date. Then if the court grants that it will issue an order to compel. If she fails to show again, they may go to sanctions, then probably contempt of court. But this will all take some time. I don't know the ins and outs of CA law but this would probably be the process.

ETA: This is a civil case, not a criminal one. So if she fails to participate, she will likely have a default judgment entered against her as the ultimate penalty.

Thanks, Julie. Come Nov 1st, I guess we'll find out. Only 4 more days! I wonder if Heidi is getting anxious yet?

I'm sure she's thinking up excuses for the judge as we speak. I wouldn't be surprised if she files something with the court in the next few days.
