And this bears repeating, my daughter in law works for PayPal and she forwarded the KTLA news reports to the PayPal fraud department. Anyone defrauding people out of $ and using PayPal can get into serious poo poo. She said we may not hear immediately the outcome but at least they have a heads up as to the Kimkin shenanigans.

I did wonder about that because I can't imagine who would want to take her on as a client. There is not enough money in the world for me to represent her.

I don't know much about TV stations/news media but don't stations have "sister" stations in other states? If so - wouldn't it be great to have to this all spread to different states? Does anyone have knowledge about how that works?

You've got that right! Most attorneys are friends outside the court room .... and you'd be surprised if you heard what they talk about behind the enemy lines (plaintiffs/defendants)..... They do consult one another.

and receiving all of those personal checks -- not too many banks will allow you to go in and cash them (for cash, not deposit) without having an account at that bank. Most banks will not allow a withdrawl for 3 or 5 or 7 days, depending on their policy. She's gotta have accounts somewhere.

Which makes me wonder -- if Heidi had, say, $1,000,000 in her paypal account, how would she receive it without drawing attention to herself via the Patriot Act? Either way, it would take her 100 days to withdraw that much money. If she started in June, she could be home free by now. That is where the forensic accountants earn their keep.

But what about the Student Loan court case? Wouldn't they be first in line for the money owed? That's only a small percentage, though. What was the total - something like $30,000 out of the suspected 1,000,000 she has in Paypal?

At this point, normally I would make a joke about the fires possibly burning the mattress with the money, but the fires are so horrendous and heartbreaking that nothing is funny about it.
