My goodness, that's a horrific story.

Since con artists look for ways to manipulate strengths and weaknesses they will either paint a picture of wealth and ease, or increase your darkest fears, or a combination of both.

In order to do this, a con artist will play on your sympathies, instill in you a sense of security in dealing with him or her, and distract you from what is really going on using lies laced with enough truth to make the patter believable. Their goal is to make you completely dependent on them.

Part of instilling complete dependency is to make you feel that your world may not be safe without their guidance. Once you realize that none of the promises are forthcoming as you expected, the con artist uses that dependency as a threat. He or she will yank the leash they have wrapped around your survival instincts, using either subtle scare tactics or outright threats.

The first step is for the con artist to determine your personality profile and identify your needs. He or she might zero in on your pride, your ego, your fears, your dreams, visions of riches, religious conviction, an illness, or your desire to get a special deal, or a combination of several traits. Whatever works best for the given situation.

The next step is to make himself or herself appear to be the only person on whom you can rely for the fulfillment of your wishes, desires, and/or personal safety. Keep in mind that in order for the scam to work, the scam artist will gain your complete and unquestioning trust, and they are very, very skillful at doing this.

The final step is the move on your money. The move may be so fast and skillful that your reaction time is delayed. If the scam is long and involved, you will be instilled with a fear of contacting the authorities. To accomplish this, the scam artist will use whatever fear is uppermost in your emotional catalog. In your mind, you will feel that to take any action will either make you look foolish, and/or you will fear retribution from the con artist, and/or you will fear even the authorities themselves. If the scam has gone on long enough, you have been brainwashed, quite literally, into believing the scam artist more than the authorities and those close to you.

I know it is horrible and the fact that she was allowing others to donate their vacation time or sick leave so she could continue the charade makes it even more bizarre I think.
I can't remember if my friend Lisa was at Moses Cone or UNC Hospital when she encountered this woman who faked cancer. I think they asked him and it wasn't her. According to her family, she never lost the weight, so to me, she might have been thin when she was younger, but she gained weight after that. This woman looks like she is around 35 or so..and is very thin. Look at her waist and her hair is not a wig..Her nose is different, too. This MIGHT have been a patio furniture ad someone mentioned.. This patio furniture is pretty up to date..within the last few years, I believe. To me, it is not her.

I've been spending too much time thinking about Kimmer.

I dreamed last night that I moved into an apartment next door to her JUST so I could spy on her! And then she came out of her apartment as I was bringing in some stuff and I got all tongue-tied trying to be the one to break the ice and talk to her.

Then I started feeling sorry for her a little bit. Like, what her world must be like and all that. And I was going to try to be friends with her....



then the nightmare ended and I woke up thank goodness.

That was a FREAKISH dream, I tell ya.

Wow Sandspurs! I don't miss those. We had them in NC where I grew up and they will take you out if you are running across the yard without shoes on...you know the funny walk trying to not put any pressure on the foot that has one stuck in it? Then the worst is when you have to get back across the yard so you can sit down and pull the thing out. It is like walking around a mine field.

The amazing part about it to me is that within a year of releasing the horse-print blouse pic, she passed off the red dress pic. Lesya looks NOTHING like the woman in that chair! The first thing I thought when I saw Lesya was "PUH-LEZE!" Not for a moment did I believe that Lesya was the same person as the woman in patio pic.

Yes, Kimmer's real name is Heidi Kimberly Diaz. Kimmer, however, pretends like she is not Heidi and we like to pull her leg and joke like we are buying that bull. So you may see us referring to Heidi as if she is not Kimmer but that is just the humor talking. Whereas when Kimmer becomes Heidi or really Wonder Woman that will be the Captain Morgan talking for her. If you missed that you have to do a search on Wonder Woman to pull up that thread...Wow that was beyond extreme.
