Thanks, Honeybee. I wasn't suggesting that people SHOULD have been looking for posts from these "successes." I just wondered if it had occurred to anyone at the time - if it HAD occurred to anyone they might now be able to point to fabricated posts.

When I joined the site, there were no "successes" except what Kimmer claimed she did. I was looking at my Outlook Express deleted mail folder the other day. I still have the e-mail Kimmer sent me from her personal e-mail box to let me know that Kimkins was up and running. I joined that day, mainly out of curiosity.

Did anyone notice that KTLA has video screen shots of the KK site before they took the "brides" off? I loved that about Chip's #3 segment - that he showed the site the way it used to be before they sanitized it.

No, they don't have a CA address for me. They don't even know I ever lived there.

ETA: I wonder if one reason they answered me is because I made a point of telling them in the complaint that I was banned without reason ("TOS Violation") and without remedy. They banned me for things I said HERE, not there. My last post there was 9/24/06.

I am sorry if it sounded like I took offense to your question or if I implied that your post was suggesting that anyone should have noted the false stories, because I didn't take it that way at all.
I thought your post was a very valid question and on point. It just got me to thinking about that subject again and some inner turmoil with the entire Kimkins fraud.
I may have replied in a very passionate way, because I have asked myself the same question and had pondered my own reasoning as to why I didn't see it then, as if kicking myself.
Then when you asked the question about the bogus SS members, it hit me suddenly as to the reason why I hadn't questioned the fake success stories, and I wrote it out in my post as it was becoming clear to me and that was where the emotion was coming from, not directed at you for asking the question. It was more at realizing WHY I didn't think anything of it then, and realizing that I should not feel guilty about that, when in fact I had been inflicting some self guilt on that very subject. I bet others have too and I was letting that guilt go and that was where the emotion was coming from it was not meant negatively at all towards you or your post!

i don't think there were fabricated posts we can point to...

when the first batch of alleged success stories were launched in summer 2006, several prolific posters asked kimmer where those people were at and why didn't they post on the site anywhere? kimmer of course, said that since they had lost all their weight, that they had fabulous new lives and didn't have time to post on the site

so then...persistent people asked her to contact some of them and ask them to come ONE time to a public chat session and answer some questions, give tips/pointers, etc. kimmer said she would contact them and ask them to do that. she came back later and said that none of them would agree to do that, but that they would be willing to answer questions via email. of course, they didn't want their emails given out, so anyone interested in asking a question could email kimmer about it and SHE would be the liasion to get answers

this is why christin became such a big deal when she showed up! she was the first "big loser" success story who actually participated on the site and had done the kimkins plan "exactly" as written. when she appeared on the scene, heidi could not wait to latch onto her and make her the new "face of kimkins"....she was confident she could get christin to do all the public relation things she wouldn't do because of her "shyness"

Thanks Terry! I will contact them again just in case. I know the petition that we all signed goes to Federal Trade Commission, Better Business Bureau, California Attorney General and states the health risks, the fraud in her marketing, but I had contacted them by email as well.
Good point on the TOS violation. I stated I was banned without a refund.
Well, who knows but I will contact them again to be safe.

You are right how Ironic! Those damn google ads are everywhere again. Google Adwords has been contacted and they had removed the Kimkins ads but it appears a few days later they returned.

Maybe I am being too critical because I wanted to hear about his findings not the same old BS about dieting.

I was surprised at how much Dr. Oz and Dr. Weil agreed with Taubes. I figured Weil especially would dismiss the whole book as hogwash. Gillian would probably say Kimkins is fine, provided sufficient cario and weight training were added.

Dunno if Heidi has actually been served.
