I took your lead and have been checking out some vintage clothing sites--even found one for vintage ads--Paper Pursuits---also found an 80s site that lists all the fashion trends and it mentioned banana republic---bennetton

I80s.com

Bennetton Benetton first hit around 1988 - a new clothing line, all about colors, animal prints, and jeans. Alot of denim matching ensembles. It was a had to have line, like Guess, Esprit and L.A. Gear.
Banana Republic Banana Republic, before they became the upscale Gap they are today, launched in 1987 or so with a safari theme. It was all khaki's and t-shirts with jungle animals on them, and, of course, bananas. Most of the stores were decorated in rattan wood, with fake trees and a jeep in the middle of the store.

that shirt definitely has a safari theme to it---maybe banana republic???
I checked out the links! WOW...IT is like going back into a fashion time capsule. I had forgot about the Esprit line. I loved their clothes in junior high.

We don't KNOW they didn't pay to use it; but if you DID paid for it, why would you cut off the artist's name?

Either way, I believe that Mr. Glasbergen would prefer to see his name on his work, don't you?

I don't see that it would hurt to let him know.

Yup, I wrote to dLife after they posted the first dLife article, and again when the second article posted. Glad to hear you wrote to the author too.

Some of the other articles appear to be borrowed as well, I just haven't found their original sources yet. The cholesterol one, the statin one, the chocolate craving one, sodium one. If anyone can find out where they originated, please let us know.

And I wonder how Tyler Florence feels about lending HIS name to the Kimkins Scam?

Why would they go to all the trouble to photoshop this picture when all the others are just obviously lifted from other sites?

This may turn out to be a wild goose chase because it may end up just being someone she knows, but it IS better quality than a family snap shot, and not quite good enough to be professional quality... so maybe the dating sites are still a good possibility?

Schwarzengger To Rule On 'Rubber Ducky' Bill
Have others seen this story? I guess we are not the only ones using the duck as a sign for change.
"SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- California activists are using "rubber duckies" to encourage Gov. Schwarzenegger to sign a bill designed to prevent toxic toys, NBC11's Mike Luery reported Thursday
Environmentalists sent 1,000 yellow toy rubber ducks to Sacramento, to plead with the governor not to "duck out" on the toxic toy bill, Luery said."

Hello ,
Longtime Lurker here.I have been following this thread from the beginning, and finally I think I can help with something.
The patiochair in the picture is identical to ours. We bought our set last year in Home Depot.

Question: Is the Kimmer Patio picture an important piece to the puzzle to find?- since 90% of what she posted on her site is already known to be outright lies, (and proven) does it really matter one way or the other if it is found, or is it just a thorn in our sides? I really doubt that Kimmer delved this deep into Russian Bride sites. My head is spinning even without the Jack Daniels! The patio picture is probably an ad from Sears or Home Depot. Is the quietness of Ducky's blog, The Truth blog , Janessa, Missis, Cutie and all the others a cue for us to stop beating a dead horse? Is it time to let things happen behind the scenes quietly so that when Heidi hears the knock on the door it will be unexpected?

I still shake my head in disbelief that Heidi wood stoop to such a crazy fantasy life of Russian brides to make her site work and scam the masses.

Honey,
YES -I have searched this entire site "Rosebride" (ages 18-35) and did not find the "patio picture"
I believe it's safe to take it off the list.
Thanks
I'm back at the bluesapphires site, looking at the applicants that registered between 1997 and 2003.

Yeah, that pic is an ad picture right? Because the bush does look the same. I wonder if that Kimmer pic was lifted from an ad, but she cropped just a small portion of the ad?

I don't believe it's the same patio set. Look carefully at the "Heidi patio" pic, the way the chair's support is styled and the curvature of the backrest. Then look at the Olympia set's support and curvature.

The hair and shirt do look retro (late 80's/early 90's). But the hair can also be considered a classic style, so one can have it even later. I get the feel that it may be N.A. and not Russian, but who knows? The others have been Russian.... The pose and relaxed look seem more catalog (as we talked about a few threads back), but whether it's a retro catalog or a more recent one with folks wearing less trendy clothes..::shrug::

I still don't think it's that Olympia set, though.
