Hello ,
Longtime Lurker here.I have been following this thread from the beginning, and finally I think I can help with something.
The patiochair in the picture is identical to ours. We bought our set last year in Home Depot.
argh I messed up the quote....
Do you think it is an old Home Depot ad? I know you say you got the furniture last year but the person appears to be dressed a decade prior....And I am thinking that it is not an ad the more I look at it close. The entire setting is not professional enough for an ad. Like someone mentioned the scrubs are not well kept and the ground would have perfect sod up to the patio and the chair would not be placed in front of the lamp pole like that I don't think.
I feel like it is someone from the eighties or early nineties dropped into a patio chair from the new millennium?!?!? But how is that possible unless it is a shot from a film that is supposed to be taking place during the 80's and the set prop person didn't think about changing the patio set to match?LOL

Do you think that photo could be photoshopped? I think it really could be an eighties person dropped into a newer chair... Think about it.

Wasn't Lesya's eyes photoshopped too? Why not this photo?

I tend to agree with you. The furniture is "now", the person is dressed a decade too old. I remember that type of blouse from the early 90's, I was a sales rep and had two or three of them in my wardrobe, not to mention similar scarves also. It seems that she is wearing a skirt, not pants, the hair is early 90's. I have to be honest and say that all the Russian Bride sites that I have gone through (seems like 100's!) all the woman seem up to date with clothing, not at all like "chair Kimmer". How Frustrating!

Not to step on anyones toes but MANY of the Russian/European photos show women dressed in 80s style clothing.

I think it was decided that Dr. Mark was in ST PETERSBURG,FL
and Tippy is in ZEPHYRHILLS, FL.
Dr. Mark may live in Zephyrhills now or maybe at one time, but his acupuncture license has him in St. Petersburg Florida currently.

The earrings and hair could be the 80's too.
I saw the pattern on the shirt---but when I downloaded it and enlarged it it looks like a necklace twisted right on the belly area---it's really hard to tell--maybe it is the shirt pattern after all

I took your lead and have been checking out some vintage clothing sites--even found one for vintage ads--Paper Pursuits---also found an 80s site that lists all the fashion trends and it mentioned banana republic---bennetton

I80s.com

Bennetton Benetton first hit around 1988 - a new clothing line, all about colors, animal prints, and jeans. Alot of denim matching ensembles. It was a had to have line, like Guess, Esprit and L.A. Gear.
Banana Republic Banana Republic, before they became the upscale Gap they are today, launched in 1987 or so with a safari theme. It was all khaki's and t-shirts with jungle animals on them, and, of course, bananas. Most of the stores were decorated in rattan wood, with fake trees and a jeep in the middle of the store.

that shirt definitely has a safari theme to it---maybe banana republic???

I know what you are saying and it does seem to vary depending on the site. Some photos are of better quality and some are well....bad.
But I think the dated ones may very well be that...dated as in an old photo or profile. I say this because other things will be dated looking as well.
So hmmmmmm.....is it a person on holiday from another country visiting someone with new patio furniture.
I am just really thinking out loud here.
It does remind me of when a lifetime movie or something is done and it is supposed to be set in the 80's but then someone will answer like a cordless phone that is clearly not from that decade.
Does anyone know of a photo site like where people in the industry, students or those who like photography submit photos for review or critique? Maybe this one could be submitted with the question of does this look familiar to anyone or is this professional or a personal photo.
Does anyone get what I mean? I need some chocolate.

Some claim we "protected" Kimmer when she was on LCF or at her new site. While she was here, she was an anonymous poster entitled to her opinion on dieting just like every one else. As long as the dieting debates remain respectful and within the Terms of Service, we allow discussions to take place even when there are disagreements or they contain non-standard views. If some discussions get overheated and admins notice it or are alerted to it, they will step in to remind people to be respectful to each other. We had no reason to ban Kimmer while she was posting here.

There were calls by other members for her to post her pictures. I believe this controversy and Kimmer's LCF presence existed years before I was involved with LCF so I don't really know the history on that without going back and reading lots of old posts. However, repeated calls for her pictures began to be seen as rude since no one is obligated to post their picture here regardless of their dieting ideas.

Once Kimmer left LCF to create a service which she was selling, there were many Kimkins followers that were attempting to recruit new customers for Kimmer by posting links to kimkins.com and various other ways of promoting the service in posts. Since it violates this site's Terms of Service to solicit, many of those posts were deleted by admins. Could there have been posts deleted by admins that were not intended to promote the Kimkins service even though they discussed the site? Sure, that's possible.

I can understand when people get upset when their posts are deleted, but it was certainly not done with the intention of stopping people from investigating her as has been implied. The admins here are human and are often asked to make judgment calls when moderating posts based on the Terms of Service. They graciously volunteer their time to help make LCF a great place. Due to the large volume of posts, we are not able to read even 2% of all the posts on this site, so we ask your understanding if we are not able to keep abreast of everything that is discussed here. Admins are often accused of showing preferential treatment to some members or arbitrary enforcement of the rules, when the fact is that we are simply not aware of some violations that occur unless we are alerted to them by other members.

I've read suggestions by some that LCF may have been financially benefiting from some relationship with Kimkins. No, that is not true at all. LCF has never received money from Kimmer or Kimkins.

As to why we are now allowing these "Fascination with Kimmer" threads, it really is due to the great member interest in talking about the various pictures that were claimed to be Kimmer so we made an exception to allow the discussion even with links to kimkins.com. The topic quickly snowballed from there and we were as surprised as everyone else to learn some of the things that surfaced.

OK, I just wanted to comment on some of the things I have read. We are aware that there are people saying we are to "blame" as much as Kimmer for what she has created, but I really think it is unfair and wrong. Whether we are to blame for anything, you can judge. It pains me to hear when an admin from here is in tears about things that have been said about this site - which we all put so much effort into - and the individuals that administrate it.

I know there is a lot of anger about this Kimmer topic and people are lashing out in various ways. For our part, I'll try to do a better job of communicating facts instead of letting speculation run wild in regards to how this website operates.
Thanks, Tom. I just want to say that I really appreciate that this thread is allowed to continue. It has been a real life saver for me. I was a kimkins member and I've learned so much on these threads. I can't even tell you how much. Thank you.

NO luck. I had thought if we found the designer maybe we could then narrow down the search.
I searched that one picture link earlier and couldn't find anything.

Then of course the signed petition goes to the Attorney General too.
I signed the petition and sent a bunch of email complaints. I hope I got them all.

On his website, you can purchase his cartoons for use on your site. I wonder if Kimmer did that?

I looked up this, wow! Those Bride sites appear to be scams...maybe that is why Heidi gravitated to those sites! My husband worked with a guy in Chicago, who married a Russian gal. AFTER he sent $$ to her family in Russia who "were in need", paid for her ticket here, etc, nearly drove him nuts/ was terribly spoiled. He came home from work one day to an empty bank account and no vehicle.

I still vote for photochopped. I'm thinking maybe Brandon could be in on that. Kids these days know ALOT more about this stuff than I ever did. Course then again, I know some 50-60 year olds that can build whole Sim worlds using photoshop... I think it is worth a thought or two.

When my hubby retired, he took a 2nd job at Lowes to keep busy. I just asked him and he says that there are some Home Depots in China but does not think in Western Europe yet. He added that photo might be from Canada, they have Home Depots, Lowes and Sears there.

The only problem that I am finding that in all the thousands of Russian Brides I have looked at, I really have not seen one pair of large earrings. It seems more "Americanized" of a picture to me

I am on this site, there seems to be the type of pictures we are looking for, more natural backgrounds I am only in the 200's, it goes to about 1000

On the websites TO search list I rated the ones that had the most fake pics, but the one that has proven to be Heidi's favorite http://www.bluesapphires.net/cgi-bin...&action=searc
These were also some of her other favs!
