For the last several years flu vaccinations have been made with dead virus strains that absolutely cannot make you sick, yet people continue to think they can get the flu from the vaccination. (I hope Tippy is ready for this next sentence) The people who get flu-like symptoms from taking a flu shot now are suffering from a psychosomatic illness. (That mean's it's all in their imagination, Tippy )

As for the dangers of vaccinations in general, I don't know. I guess there are good and bad ones. I usually take a flu shot if I think of it. It's not a big deal to me one way or the other.
Yes, you can get the flu from the shot! I've heard of it and seen it. The flu vacine not only contains nasty hemicals, but it is made from the Virus it'self, similar to the Chicken Pox Vacine!

And when I got the flu after the flu shot, others came down with it as well. Man, that's some POWERFUL pyschosomatic fallout if unvaccinated people can catch it!!!

Yes, there are several I'd consider, especially if visiting an area where the various diseases are endemic and frightening. But the roster of vaccines keeps growing and growing, and now the Canadian gov't wants to vaccinate EVERY schoolgirl below Gr 8 for a genital disease that is passed on by sexual adventuring. The chemical soup that passes for blood in kids is a scary indictment of the state of their health and the environment.
I am Psycho too now....I agree 110% with you

I recently got my mom a flu shot...but she is 83 yrs old with COPD and recently had a heart attack!. I won't have my daughter get the HPV vaccine...yet marketing being what it is she wants to be "one less". My children were all vaccinated. My 22 year old son is on the autism spectrum..but we're lucky. He has improved over the years!!

I was scheduled to get a flu shot at work yesterday, but I decided against it. I guess I signed up in a moment of weakness, remembering that I got the flu 2 years ago. I came to my senses just in time!

Thank you for your post..
It's wonderful of you to do this.

hey guys

Im a long time lurker but I think this is my first time posting.

I enjoy this website and been following the kimkins thing since May but I had to chime in about the anti-vaccine and flu shot thing.

With any medicine there does come a risk. However, the benefits for a series of vaccinations for your baby/toddler far outweigh the risks. The same goes for a flu shot. I cant believe so many people are so against the flu shot. The needle version contains a dead virus so if you got the full fledge flu right after a shot then it was just a coincidence that you got the shot during the same time you had already contracted the flu. All a dead virus does is build up your white blood cells to combat the already dead virus.

It doesn't necessarily mean you still will not get it because the strand of the flu may be different than expected, but 95% of the time I get the shot, I dont get the flu. Whenever I dont get the shot I ALWAYS get the flu.

The nasal flu vaccine will give you a cold or a very mild form of the flu since it does contains a weak live virus. Also, many of you guys talk about the nasty chemicals in a flu shot. Here are the chemicals:

Haemophilus influenza Type B,
polyribosylribitol phosphate ammonium sulfate,
formalin, and sucrose

There's more nasty chemicals in a bowl of generic ice cream than the flu shot!! Basically, if you're allerigic to eggs to get it.

But I still cannot understand why you wouldnt want to vaccinate your children against the measles, mumps, etc. Sure, there are some risks. Just like some of you taking birth control. The risks in birth control are FAR MORE deadlier than the vaccines. Read the warning label on a birth control pill.

BTW, thanks for listening!

People who are adamantly opposed to all vaccines scare me with their lack of knowledge on epidemiological issues. I'm not surprised, as they are so complex, but too little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

My sister in law is a dentist who does various fillings, including mercury amalgam. I've asked her about the mercury issue and she said there has been no evidence that they are dangerous. I know if she thought there was any issue whatsoever she would point us (her family) to other options. I have more fillings that anyone I know. Ever since I was a child, I've had the most horrible teeth. I just did a heavy metal test and was really expecting high mercury levels...I was surprised to find that that's not the case at all.

No offense, but I have to take eveything a chiro says with a grain of salt. Sort of like everything Tom Cruise says .
(for those that don't know, many many chiropracters are scientologists)

No offense to anyone....but you can't get the flu from a flu shot. Ask any doctor. You might get a small reaction that feels like the flu, but it is not the flu.

My dad fainted 3 times in one week after his last flu shot. He was taken to the ER and guess what they said? "Severe reaction to the flu shot" which was noted in his charts. My dad has never fainted prior to this. He said his elbow joints were so stiff that he couldnt bring a cup of coffee up to his lips. It almost seemed like an auto-immune response to me. There HAS GOT TO BE something to the claims that the flu shot can MAKE you sick, so many people talk about...I dont care what the ingredients are.

I'm sorry about your father. A lot of people have strong feelings against it or for it, lets hope everyone is well this winter.

Chateauguay? You're that much closer to Plattsburgh, and I've made my Passover order a few times at Price Chopper. I know a couple of Jewish people on the South Shore - if you go to the South Shore Jewish Community Centre/shul, you probably know them....

They never offer it to you - I taught in the PS for 10 years before I started homeschooling. But if you let me know where you're at, I can probably find for you how to get out of it - if #2 wants to PS in the future.

That said, there's a reason that I gave up a decent salary in a job that I love to stay home and pay to educate my own kids.
