I am personally a Kimkins success story. I began my weight loss journey at 263 lbs. I am a female of 5' 7". I began losing weight with the Atkins diet (also quite con-traversal) and did well on it for about a year. I lost approximately 50 lbs on Atkins and then it stopped working. For the next 6 months I lost no further weight or inches. A dear friend told me about the Kimkins diet and I decided to give it a try. The weight came off just as promised! EXACTLY as promised! I made a personal choice to begin alternating Kimkins diet with Atkins.
I just read this rebuttal from Tippy Toes on dietsinreview.com. She REALLY has to learn how to spell. One would think that a PAID PR Director would at least bother to use the spell checker in Word......gee whiz.....Con-traversal.

Why couldn't he just say if you are not feeling great? I don't understand why he is throwing all the medical terms around to then just have to explain them?
That really isn't a medical term it's just a word that some people may not know.
At least he spelled it correctly which makes me think he probably used a dictionary!

Are the people at kimkins still advertising a very rapid weight loss? I mean I wonder if cycling kimkins with something else is going to bring the results they promise.

I suggested several moons ago that since the money was supposed to go to young ADULTS who had aged out of the system, that there was nothing illegal about Tippy's fundraising. Has Heidi had foster kids in the last several years? Apparently yes. Legally? We don't know, but her son's ex said she had fosters last summer or spring. Whether or not Heidi spent the money on the kids is a moot point, according to Tippy. (I think Heidi prefers Captain Morgan to butter cakes.)

The front page used to say ~ "There's no faster diet! None!"

It looks like they have taken that mention off the front page, but there is still information about losing fast included on the Thinking About Kimkins page:

Kimkins - Thinking About Kimkins?

Kimkins is low carb, low calorie with no fiber or sugar alcohol subtraction to quickly shed excess pounds!

How fast will I lose?

Suffice to say you will lose faster with Kimkins than with any other plan.

How quickly depends on age, sex, current weight and activity level, but many members drop 5% or more of their total body weight in the first 10 days! Please look over our Member Comments for first hand reports of fantastic weight loss!

This is what the front page looked like back in July:

Kimkins - Home

Big difference, eh?

I can understand your concern by the information you have from the link you emailed me. Although I understand your concern, I at this time do not agree with the artical you linked to as it has many facts wrong! Both my husband and I have lost wieght on this plan and we have NEVER gone below 1200 callories aday. I can see how someone could take any diet to the extream and it would hurt thier health, but that can be said of almost anything not just this diet plan. That being said, I have decided to take down the auction, until I can look into the issue and see if it is valid or not. If after some research I find information you sent me is true, then I of coarse will not relist the add, but if I find that the information you sent is false, then I will of re-list the item. I do that all the time. There are medical terms I am familiar with, and use. Then I think perhaps the persons being addressed might want to do further research IF they knew what the terms meant; so I also throw in an explanation. Either Dr. Mark is polishing his credentials, or else he's trying to educate people. There is nothing sinister about him using medical terms. In fact, I expect it, and I'm just plain folks.

I bet the US Postal Inspector would have something to say about the use of the US Mail to raise funds for a fraudulent charitable purpose.

Among the laws enforced by the USPS Inspector:
Electronic Crimes (18 USC 1029, 1030, 1037, 1343, 2701)
Inspectors protect postal customers from fraud schemes and other crimes that may occur online and involve the misuse of the mail or of the Postal Service. This includes using or selling stolen or counterfeit access devices, such as credit card numbers; using protected computers without proper authority or exceeding authorized access; using computer communications in a scheme to defraud; using a false identity when sending commercial e-mails to mislead or deceive recipients, as with spam; and unauthorized access to communications that are stored electronically via a communications service.
Generally speaking...
U.S. Postal Inspectors investigate any crime in which the U.S. Mail is used to further a scheme--whether it originated in the mail, by telephone, or on the Internet. The use of the U.S. Mail is what makes it mail fraud.

If evidence of a postal violation exists, Postal Inspectors may seek prosecutive or administrative action against the violator. However, if money is lost through a fraudulent scheme conducted via the mail, Inspectors lack the authority to ensure you receive a refund and can't require that products, services, or advertisements--on the Internet or elsewhere--be altered.

Postal Inspectors base investigations of mail fraud on the number, pattern, and substance of complaints received from the public. The Postal Inspection Service will carefully review the information you provide. We may share the information with other agencies when there is a possible violation within their jurisdiction.

If you feel you've been victimized in a fraud scheme that involves the U.S. Mail, submit a Mail Fraud Complaint Form to the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
In addition to the foster kid bogus charity fundraising, the use of the US Mail to collect Kimkins membership fees would, I believe, constitute mail fraud, subject to prosection by the USPS Inspector.

She also doesn't know the difference between "coarse" and "course".

However "coarse" does seem to suit her:

Quote:
coarse
Pronunciation[kawrs, kohrs] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–adjective, coars·er, coars·est.
1. composed of relatively large parts or particles: The beach had rough, coarse sand.
2. lacking in fineness or delicacy of texture, structure, etc.: The stiff, coarse fabric irritated her skin.
3. harsh; grating.
4. lacking delicacy, taste, or refinement; unpolished: He had coarse manners but an absolutely first-rate mind.
5. of inferior or faulty quality; common; base.
6. vulgar; obscene; crude: His coarse language angered us.

It's impossible to know what the truth was as to whether or not these foster kids existed or whether or not the fundraiser was illegal. Given the extent of Heidi's lies, we will never know whether one word she ever uttered was true or not. My post was simply stating what we were told on the KK site with regard to the fundraiser and what would supposedly be done with the funds. From my understanding, the money would not go to the kids, it would go to Heidi and she would purchase the items to get them started in their apartments.

As for the butter cake, mmmmmmmm good when soaked in Captain Morgan! What could be a better combo than sugar AND spirits?

From the KK camp. I wonder if this woman has any idea how close she is to an eating disorder......

4 Days, 6 Hours ago
I just wanted to chime in on the fasting. I do a water fast every Monday just to start the week out right. I read on it and have started this practice 3 weeks ago. I have lost another 3lbs by doing this. I do not feel hungry, I do not have sugar lows, I am alert and energetic on these days and use them to j
