BTW...you guys all amaze me by all of the stuff you have found out. Too bad we weren't ivestigating Kimmer years ago when she was spewing her lies all over LCF. So many people could have been saved from her craziness.

I have not not been able to catch up so I skimmed to update. So what the heck is up with "the Tipper"???

So I decided to search to see when else it came up with that wrong spelling, because you just never know what a search can turn up.
Well this person on Ebay misspelled it too by spelling it as "artical".
A member had posted about her experience with an ebayer that was selling kimkins on ebay if you read the ebayers reply they misspelled article the same way too. Also note the spelling of their with thier.

The posted ebay members response below(bolding is mine)

Just noting and filing away is all. You never know when those little searched bits of information will come in handy.
You are good!

For anyone who may have sent $ for kimmers kids, I don't know if you guys have already seen this link.

TIPS ON AVOIDING FRAUDULENT CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTION SCHEMES

Throughout the year events will occur which may prompt individuals with criminal intent to solicit for contributions for a charitable organization and/or a good cause. When donating, consumers should consider the following:

* Do not respond to unsolicited (SPAM) e-mail.
* Be skeptical of individuals representing themselves as officials soliciting via e-mail for donations.
* Do not click on links contained within an unsolicited e-mail.
* Be cautious of e-mail claiming to contain pictures in attached files, as the files may contain viruses. Only open attachments from known senders.
* To ensure contributions are received and used for intended purposes, make contributions directly to recognized organizations rather than relying on others to make the donation on your behalf.
* Validate the legitimacy of the organization by directly accessing the recognized charity or aid organization's website rather than following an alleged link to the site.
* Attempt to verify the legitimacy of the non-profit status of the organization by using various Internet-based resources, which also may assist in confirming the actual existence of the organization.
* Do not provide personal or financial information to anyone who solicits contributions: providing such information may compromise your identity and open you to identity theft.

To obtain more information on charitable contribution schemes and other types of online schemes, visit Looks Too Good To Be True. If you are a victim of an online scheme, you may file a complaint with the IC3 at www.ic3.gov.

I wonder if the russian brides should be alerted to identity theft??? I think they should file a complaint, as well as the owner of the russian brides site that their photos were stolen and used for fraud.

Hey, I'm just under 280, and I've always carried my weight well--people never believed I was AS BIG as the scale said (though, after a certain point, huge is just huge). I carry like Heidi (in the pics she has), ie, I have a waist and hourglass figure. Her bosom is somewhat larger than mine, though.

HOwever, that is not 280 in that pic. At 280, you definitely have more in the belly and chin region. And it SHOWS at that height (I'm only an inch taller than Heidi's stats). If I were 5'11", sure, I'd carry even better. But we're not that tall, we both have hourglass type figures, we both have belly-fat issues.

And she is NOWHERE near 280 in that blue-shirt/dress shot. Bull. She's probably in the neighborhood of 195-215--could be less, even--230 tops.

If you look at the blog here with all the links to what's been searched/found, what's scam/real etc. (sorry I don't have links handy) you will see that the folks coordinating these efforts have asked that the Russian bride sites NOT be contacted at this time so that everything there will stay "as is" while the various investigations are conducted.

I think the Russian bride site isn't totally on the "up and up" either..Think Russia..Mafia, etc..Some of these gals are models and signed releases to use
their pictures for "things" and the Russian bride site might have used their pictures without them knowing it. And, just like KIMMER, you can't tell who you are emailing, etc..It could be a bunch of guys in jail who are answering the emails..

Some of these gals are very attractive and probably think they will be offered modelling jobs.

It probably is SCAM, too..

Has anyone thought about submitting an article (artical..ha) to Dr. Mercola's site warning people about Kimkins? He has a HUGE following and it may be a good way to get the word out.

Yup, that's what I think, too. She just looked way too small all over (even carrying her weight well) to be 280 - 300+ pounds.

Ya know, if she just would have shared her opinions without trying to sound like such a "know it all" and pretending she was tiny and maintaining, she could have been helpful. All of us have little hints and things that we know that work even if we don't always follow them. People share those tidbits all of the time without coming off nasty and condescending like Kimmer always did.

I'm sure that she (and almost everybody else on this board) truly have good things to share...

BUT...

there is/was no need for a huge scam that endangered the health of others and stole their money!!!

GRRRRRR....

Here's his site. He likes to put his "stamp of approval" or "warnings" about anything health related. He sends out newsletters to all the time to his members.

posted yesterday:

haven't been feeling well the last month or so, so I have been off-diet, just maintaining instead of losing. I usually stuck to K/E and bootcamp before. When I was on diet before I was losing a lot of hair. I cut a lot off last week (told the hairdresser to cut off as much as necessary to leave just the healthy hair), and I am still continuing to loose a significant amount of hair everyday.
The bootcamp menu I was following most days was:

Bkft: 2 medium eggs cooked with 2 slices extra lean deli ham and 1/2 cup List 1 or 2 veggies

Lunch: 2 cups (loosely packed) spinach with 4 oz tuna and 3 sprays Hellman's Zesty Italian Salad Spritzer

Dinner: 2 cups (loosely packed) spinach with 4 oz chicken breast and 3 sprays Hellman's Zesty Italian Salad Spritzer

I'm also drinking 2L/day water, and 1-2 diet sodas.

My average daily totals are: Cals - 300-500 Fat - 5-19g Carbs- 5-15g Protein- 65-80g

I have been taking a multi-vitamin, fish oil supplements, and fibre pills with non-digestible carbohydrates in it. I have also added echinacea, a high-potency B-complex vitamin, zinc, calcium and vitamin D.

Any suggestions for my plan?

Dr Mark's Response:

When experiencing any symptoms that are exaggerated (lots of this or that) plus general malaise (not feeling great) it may be time to see your primary physician.

Remember folks to listen to your body. If you follow the advise that the people on the forum give it is just a general guideline.

Listen to your body.... Especially really significant amounts of pain.

Minor changes in skin, hair, bowel movements, etc experienced with dietary changes or detoxification are normal...

Extra Extra or Bad Bad symptoms are not.

TT's Response:

try to slowly bring the calories up. You can't stay so low forever and if you end up stalling you'll have nothing left to cut back on. I like bootcamp myself and I do well with it but I have at least 800 calories.

And the FAMOUS Admin's response: (Kimmer?)

Mara, welcome back. Here is information posted on another thread about hair loss. Of course see your doctor if you're concerned.

These are links to other sites about hair loss and dieting. It seems to occur with all diets from Atkins to Jenny Craig, but no one has a solid answer. We strongly suggest you see your doctor to determine if there's an underlying medical or hormonal imbalance. Often it seems prior use of birth control pills may be a factor due to excess estrogen storage in body fat.

Go to this thread and there are links to read: http://www.kimkins.com/component/option,com_fireboard/Itemid,101/func,view/id,399199/catid,11/ limit,10/limitstart,10/#404313

The values for the menu you submitted above are 508 calories and 73 grams of protein. How much weight did you lose following this menu for a month? What did your doctor say when you told him you were doing Kimkins?

Ok, they have made more changes to their website...when you C&P it pasts "who you are and how many posts your had over there". So when you put it here, be sure to delete the bottom of the message or they will see your user name over there.

Hey, Maybe this is Heidi's new diet scam....

Quote from mercola.com "Wackiest Fad Diets in America"

have a modest proposal...THE AIR DIET, calorie, fat, sugar, protein, fiber, carb, liquid, alcohol, caffeine, drug, and/or hassle free.

We guarantee on this diet you will lose weight, with NO EXERCISE!

Yes, that is correct, on the AIR DIET, THERE ARE NO DVD'S, BOOKS, PLANS, OR MEMBERSHIP FEES!

Dial: 1-800-AIR-HEAD in the next 5 minutes, and have your high limit credit card ready!

Why with the AIR DIET, we will throw in a free burial (within 3 days of purchase) if you are not completely satisfied with the weight loss results!!!

That's AIR DIET, because all you have to do is suck.

Interesting info from Craigslist:

Avoiding scams and fraud craigslist help forum

You can sidestep would-be scammers by following these common-sense rules:
DEAL LOCALLY WITH FOLKS YOU CAN MEET IN PERSON - follow this one simple rule and you will avoid 99% of the scam attempts on craigslist.

NEVER WIRE FUNDS VIA WESTERN UNION, MONEYGRAM or any other wire service - anyone who asks you to do so is a scammer.

FAKE CASHIER CHECKS & MONEY ORDERS ARE COMMON, and BANKS WILL CASH THEM AND THEN HOLD YOU RESPONSIBLE when the fake is discovered weeks later.

CRAIGSLIST IS NOT INVOLVED IN ANY TRANSACTION, and does not handle payments, guarantee transactions, provide escrow services, or offer "buyer protection" or "seller certification"

NEVER GIVE OUT FINANCIAL INFORMATION (bank account number, social security number, eBay/PayPal info, etc.)

AVOID DEALS INVOLVING SHIPPING OR ESCROW SERVICES and know that ONLY A SCAMMER WILL "GUARANTEE" YOUR TRANSACTION.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Who should I notify about fraud or scam attempts?
FTC toll free hotline: 877-FTC-HELP (877-382-4357)
FTC online complaint form (Federal Trade Commission - Home)
Canadian PhoneBusters hotline: 888-495-8501
Internet Fraud Complaint Center (www.ic3.gov/)
Non-emergency number for your local police department.
If you suspect that an item posted for sale on craigslist may be part of a scam, please email the details to "abuse@craigslist.org". Be sure to include the post ID number in your message.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Recognizing scams
Most scams involve one or more of the following:

inquiry from someone far away, often in another country
Western Union, Money Gram, cashier's check, money order, shipping, escrow service, or a "guarantee"
inability or refusal to meet face-to-face before consumating transaction

Notice what I hightlighted with bolding. Interesting, eh?

I wonder if you post an ad for a job with a scam website, if they'd like to hear about that too?

At the very least, we could write to him and inquire about his take on Kimkins, and perhaps get him to research it a bit and expose it independently.

Kat: That post is really scarey. The idiot doctor didn't tell her to up her calories, but he did tell her to go to the doctor if her symptoms were EXTRA EXTRA OR BAD BAD (now that is an interesting medical term).

When people start eating more calories, they stop losing their hair. This may take a while, but with proper vitamins, etc, they will start growing new hair. It is not about birth control pills, because these peeps didn't start losing hair until they started the
Baldkins diet.

Hopefully, this gal got some help..and not from anyone at Kimkins..geewhiz!!
