I edited in my quote above but on the original post it was incorrect. However the toll free number is correct as well as all the other contact information.
Bay news 9 is owned by Brighthouse the Cable Company and only Cable customers see it. They repeat the Stories all Day so a lot of chances for it to be seen if she does the story. I was never on the plan or joined so I cannot help I almost wish I had since the Studios are only a few miles from me LOL

Hey LoCarb4me why did that poster say Tippy and AmyB keep up the good work?
I mean what did AmyB do or is she now an Admin?
That comment just threw me off and I was not sure of the context of the thread.
Do you know more about that thread?

AmyB and Tippy are big losers that was the keep up the good work. it was in reply to that lady earlier who was busting AmyB's chops for asking questions of Tippy and Dr MArk.

I finished the blue saphire 18-22 yr olds with no new pics found. I've also been bumping the criteria to 160 to 300+ pounds on every site looking for those larger ladies but haven't found then yet either.

Oh, wow! I just found a previous post of mine up on Medusa's blog! Just some searching around trying to kill time and I popped my name into Google just for fun. Isn't a problem at all, as I poured my soul here for any and everyone. I was just surprised is all!

P.S Thanks Medusa! It is reassuring to know my feelings didn't go unnoticed. I hope my post influences someone out there even if it is just a tiny snippet of what I and many others have gone/are going through!

P.S.S. None of the other faithm's on google are about me at all! Just had to say...

Namaste Cafe - Kimkins

I received a very nice email from Serenity this evening, thanking me for letting her know about all this. She and her daughter have been both on the Kimkins Diet. Serenity has lost 50 lbs. in 90 days, but she hasn't been losing for the last three weeks. Her daughter had been skipping lunch altogether. Both have been losing hair and having some of the symptoms that Christin mentioned in her video. Serenity says she will call her doctor on Monday. She's also taken the Kimkins information off her site.

Thank you everyone for your help with this. Hopefully, we got to Serenity in time and there won't be any permanent damage done.

Happy Healthy Low Carbing!

I read that thread AFTER I just got back from grocery shopping, dangit, and I don't have enough cream cheese to even make half a batch. From the sounds of all the rave reviews, that might be just as well because those things sound delish! I'm trying to re-learn not to indulge my head every time it thinks it wants or needs something sweet. If I really gotta have something sweet I have to drive into town to get it, which is 20 miles one way. I don't keep sweet stuff in the house, so that strategy is working well so far.

But that recipe sounds perfect to remember for holidays and special occasions! Maybe pumpkin pie spice instead of cinnamon for Thanksgiving?

Here is another sad story. It was posted within the last two hours and she got two replies, both advised her to see her doctor. AmyB was one of the respondents. She was also advised to not hide her diet from her DH. No admins responded yet. It is dead over there so admins might be sleeping.

What did do wrong? 0 Hour, 0 Minutes ago
I am on my 4th day K/E. This morning when I got up I felt awful. I figured it was ketosis. I felt really crummy my second day, but nothing compared to this. I welcomed it as a sign of good things to come. I was going downstairs to switch some laundry and completely lost my balance, tumbled down the steps and felt like I was going to pass out. It was scary!! My husband convinced me to eat a bowl of cereal and a glass of OJ. I have been drinking at least 6 tall glasses of water each day (more then I ever have a day) and taking multi vitamins twice a day. It's not as if I hadn't been eating. I've ate more during the day then I usually do. I felt great within a half hour of having a bowl of cereal. I know I took a big step backwards by eating that I skipped lunch and had a hamburger for dinner with some pickles. My diet has consisted of chic, pork chops, egg salad and scrambled eggs. I haven't used fitday yet so I have no idea what my calorie was each day. Should I up my calories? I know I should see my doctor, but I feel fine now. I'm a carb addict. Could I have been going through some serious withdrawals? I would like to stay on plan, but I'm going to have to hide it from my husband.
Please note, although no boardcode and smiley buttons are shown, they are still useable

Very interesting to look up the DNS/Whois info. Dr. Mark's bio says he has been in business for 18 years, but the site was created very recently. This is from network-tools:

Domain Name.......... naturalseminars.com
Creation Date........ 2007-08-14
Registration Date.... 2007-08-14
Expiry Date.......... 2008-08-14

Looks like "his" site just went up in August.

I along with Jeanessa and a few others got a "Why is everyone attacking me" email. I didn't attack him. I just asked what he personally thought of Kimkins and if he thought it was really safe.

Course they changed the site as we have all been told, so he has no clue what has been going on. Has anyone attempted to send him links to the KTLA newscast, the Jimmy Moore podcast of any of the other numerous links that are out there? I think he should be informed, as he truely does believe that the diet Kimkins suggests (as it is NOW) is right on and with what he suggests, but now they are touting 1,000 calories or so I have heard.

One thing I know, its going to be difficult to get himself out of that trap if he doesn't bother to do the appropriate research, as he suggested he was "going to" in his email. One thing for sure, its NOT Tippy or Kimmer using the doc... He is real.

I put together a very carefully worded email in response to the letter that several of us received. I wanted him to realize that we do care about the innocent people there, and that we aren't "haters" as we have been presented to him by the folks at Kimkins. He did respond to that email yesterday and thanked me for taking the time and care to write a response to him.

He said that he had never heard about Kimkins prior to last week. He simply responded to an ad for a fitness/wellness expert. He has promised to read through the information that I sent him and look at the links when he can, but he was in the middle of a week of seminars.

I hope that he will realize what he is getting into and be able to find a way to get out of it gracefully, for his sake.

I'll keep you all posted if I hear any more from him.

Let's wait for all the facts to fall out. He may not even be aware that Kimmer is using his name. After all, she used Lesya's photographs and that poor girl had no idea she was being used. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out in the end, I think. It's almost like watching a soap opera except I feel responsible to get the word out so people don't get hurt. This isn't a fantasy.

The capacity of people to blind themselves is astonishing. She feels like crap. She loses balance. She eats food and, voila, feels good again. But then she goes back to eating the way that made her sick. And then she says she's gonna HIDE stuff from her husband. Why? Cause, clearly, he objects to her damaging her health. (sigh)

This woman has walked right into Eating Disorder Territory. Unfortunately, she's put those blinders on real tight so that she can avoid reading the signs posted everywhere. That whole "secret diet" thing should be a honking, red alarm tip-off that something's whack, even beyond the physical symptoms.

I hope she listens and goes to her doc. However, I suspect if she'd lie to her husband, then she'll lie even more easily to her doctor about how much--or rather how little--she's consuming.

Oh, and regarding Kimmer's brilliant comment (from a c/p in a previous LCF post):

Quote:
Your metabolism comes to a stand still while you sleep, but you don't set your alarm for 2 am to eat, right? Hopefully not.
Metabolism coming to a standstill? Isn't that equivalent to being DEAD? Well, looky there. We didn't know we died every night and resurrected every morning. We're ZOMBIES!

Warning: If you are allergic to sarcasm, this post requires you immediately take some of your medication.

Honeybee keeps posting the links which is awesome. If anyone is new, please check them out.

Someone asked about the lawsuit. It is very quick and easy to join. For those on the fence, please join. This is all that is required of you! (from Kimkinslawsuit’s Weblog)

Do you want your money back?
September 20th, 2007 by kimkinslawsuit
The last six weeks have revealed a myriad of problems with the diet plan found on the Kimkins.com website. There are health issues, identity issues and even the issue of general plan information being free elsewhere on the web.

The history of these findings can be accessed all over the web.

If you are a member of Kimkins.com or were a member of Kimkins.com, you are eligible to participate in a class action lawsuit that is being organized by John E. Tiedt of Riverside California Business Litigation & Personal Injury Attorneys - The Law Offices of John E. Tiedt.

There is strength in numbers and every voice counts!!!

If you would like to be a representative in the Kimkims.com Class Action Lawsuit, please send the following to kimkinslawsuit@yahoo.com:

1.) Your legal name and mailing address

2.) A telephone number where you can be reached between the hours of 11am-8pm EST

3.) The amount you paid Kimkins.com

4.) The approximate date that you joined Kimkins.com as a paid member

You will not have to appear in court or pay a dime.

I think Tippy did create the fundraiser in good faith at the time. Her actions after however have since made me lose all respect for her.

Does anybody have the screenshots for the jewelry fundraiser someone else organized. That would be pretty useful.

The California State Ombundsman's Office says there weren't any foster children at the time of the fundraisers -- and the Community Care Licensing office (Virna Wright, contact person) says it's illegal for anyone to take donations for foster children, real OR fake, by actively raising those funds and/or accepting those funds.
