Should I email the link to Kimmer?

Memory lane. I grew up on a farm in Iowa in the 50's & 60's. We had chickens & a few ducks too. Dad brought home some duck eggs and let the chicken hens hatch them. Man did the momma chicken pitch a fit when the ducklings would hop into the water/ drinking pan! Some of the boy ducks (we called them drakes) could be a little testy. But there were a few that were almost like lap dogs.

Maid, you are right. She did mention the fundraiser on LCF:

And DH got back to 203 easy as can be after his 3 lb pizza gain...grrrrrr

Anyways, although I prefer to wait for day 2 of TOM I am not going to be able to this time cause I have committed myself to a 30 day challenge/benefit fundraiser starting July1 for the entire month. This should be interesting! I should have committed myself elsewhere--like a mental institution, lol!

Even though I adore my Atkins ways, I have noticed I am making little efforts to cut fats where ever I can. Hmmm. I have been programmed... For example, I adore thick blue cheese dressing on my salads. But lately I mix one tablespoon with 1 tbsp of Walden Farms blue cheese and 2 tbsp of Walden Farms creamy bacon. Doing this actually cut out at least 300 calories per salad if not more. And it tastes great! But, starting July 1st back to just Waldon Farms.

Went back to exercise today too. 45 min done. Back holding out well.

Luv all you Babes!

Dawn, I need my Duffy report and a big ole sloppy doggie kiss!

If anyone is interested or has any information regarding the Kimmer's Foster Kid Fundraiser please read the following:
A reporter by the name of Michelle Kay, at Bay News 9 in Tampa, Florida, is interested in doing an expose' of the Kimkins.com fundraising scam.
Please note the wording "interested in" ... not "committed to" this is due to the fact that she needs some PROOF before she can commit to doing the story.
She's looking for:
1. victims of the scam (meaning, people who were kind-hearted enough to actually donate money) who are willing to be interviewed on camera

2. screen shots (not copy/pastes) of actual posts, pm's, and/or emails written by Jeannie S. Baitinger a.k.a. "Tippy Toes" which prove that:
a) Jeannie was in charge of the "Kimmer's Kids" fundraiser
b) Jeannie is still in charge of fundraising activities ("for charity") at Kimkins.com

We had attempted to keep this quiet and work behind the scenes, but with a week passing by and no one coming forward there seemed to be no other way to get information then to post a request here on the board.

Perhaps too much time has passed already, and if so, there's no sense in trying to interest the media in this aspect of the whole Kimmer/Kimkins thing. If that is the case we will not continue to engage the interest of this reporter nor make the efforts to bring this issue to the media's attention.
However, I do think this is a worthwhile story and would hope that anyone with information would make the effort to contact the reporter. The more media we have involved with the Kimkins.com scandal in general, the more the dangers of kimkins can be exposed.

Please remember when speaking of this matter, stick to the facts only, those being:

The California State Ombundsman's Office says there weren't any foster children at the time of the fundraisers -- and the Community Care Licensing office (Virna Wright, contact person) says it's illegal for anyone to take donations for foster children, real OR fake, by actively raising those funds and/or accepting those funds. Jeannie S. Baitinger of Zephyrhills Florida ("TippyToes" or "Tippy") spearheaded the Kimmer's Kids fundraisers, and the money was sent to Heidi K. Diaz of Corona California ("Kimmer"). These are the facts. They are not allegations and they are not libel.

We hope for an official investigation into this matter, and if crimes have been committed, we hope for justice to be done.

Who to contact:

I haven't been here in a long time and I quit following the thread because I just couldn't keep up! I signed up at Kimkins immediately following the WW article. I did this without researching the plan at all....so unlike me, but the article was that powerful to me. But I was among the first to get banned from her website for posting about the blatantly obviously doctored photos. The next day she changed her terms of service to justify my banning.

Anyway...I haven't joined the class action lawsuit. Has anyone here joined it? How much trouble will it be to be a part of it?

I know, but time was running out as far as feeling as that the reporter was not going to be interested if no one responded. The thought was that it would be better to alert the wrong people and get the story done, then to not say anything and have the story not being done at all.

Hi Kimmer. I love this thread. It's where I start when I come to this board.

I started trying to do the M/E fast on Monday, when my weight was up to 205.5. Tuesday I was 201.5, yesterday 198.5, and this morning 197.5. Pretty cool....8 lbs in 3 days is very motivating.

Couple of Questions: When will I be able to tell that it's fat that's coming off, and not just water? and Will my body get used to this lower calorie, low fat, low carb WOE, accept it as normal, and stop losing? That looks stupid written down, but I still want to know.

I'm a 50 yo female with a sedentary job. My only form of exercise right now is gardening, house cleaning and walking my dog. In the morning I have 2 cups of coffee with half & half. (I've never been a breakfast person. Makes me feel yucky) For lunch I've been having a chicken breast - boneless, skinless, about 6 oz. In the evening, a couple of hardboiled eggs and a diet soda satisfies me. I drink anywhere from 99 to 132 oz of water. I'm under 600 calories and at 6 carbs.

I'm worried that if the scale slows down to only a lb or 2 per week that I'll get discouraged and binge again. That looks stupid too, but there it is!
---------------------------------------------
Kimmer responds:
Water weight? That was the first 5 pounds, everything else is melted body fat!

If I hear about a body "getting used to low calories" one more time I'm going to scream. Quietly, but still. Your metabolism drops when you lower calories, but returns when you add more calories -- like an equilibrium thing.

Your metabolism comes to a stand still while you sleep, but you don't set your alarm for 2 am to eat, right? Hopefully not.

Metabolism isn't a "thing" that can be broken. It's your body process and it ebbs and flows all during the day (body clock).

Now, of course the amount of food you're able to eat without gaining will be considerable less at 130 lbs than at 230 or 330 lbs. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. People who are "quantity" eaters may need to find some long term "low cal high quantity" foods ... like veggies.

If you return to what you used to eat, you'll return to what you used to weigh and that's true for everyone.

I'll be 48 in a week and my sedentary life is identical to yours. I also don't eat breakfast (just not hungry) and usually grab a yogurt around 10-11 (on maintenance, not during weight loss). Basically, I eat twice a day and maintain very easily.

Please don't buy into the "minimum calorie" thing. You're just making your life harder if you do.
If you check my Fitday link on post #1, you can see my calorie level during my weight loss phase. You're right on target. Keep busy, enjoy your hobbies (isn't gardening the best?) and watch your scale drop, drop, drop.

PS - The scale will not drop to 1-2 lbs a week at 600 calories until you're 5-10 pounds from goal. Don't even worry about that.
