My humble apologies to the Site Owner for my post last night. I am aware that a joke like that could incite a riot if taken the wrong way. Sometimes I post too quick! Back to catching up on reading!

But then I started to think (always dangerous ) - if you quoted Kimmer's original advice right back to them, would you feel any responsibility if they followed it and did themselves harm? We have been trying to get the word to the members about how dangerous the original Kimkins is. Would we not become hypocrites for relaying the exact same answers to questions asked in good faith by struggling dieters? Let's not lose sight of 1. our goal 2. the victims in our desire to score off Kimmer and Tippy. I call that a bad idea. I'd sure hate to be lumped in with Heidi in our utter callous disregard for people.

![]() Sorry, No post 2394 was a post to TIPPY is how it appeared on the boards there. Now Tippy did write this post I have added again below, but I'm sure you gathered that because it was typical CYA after reading the board here. Quote:

I looked around the FTC website to learn about what the federal government actually does about false advertising. They have a Bureau of Consumer Protection, and the Kimkins situation seems to fit the false advertising part to a T!
Since I was never a customer, it does not appear from the complaint form that I would be an appropriate person to file a formal complaint. For any of you who purchased Kimkins memberships, and who feel you did so based on false advertising by Kimkins, you can initiate a formal complaint with the FTC by completing THIS FORM. You will need to have handy the following information to complete the form: Business Name: Kimkins Address: 529 North McKinley Street 104-309, Corona, CA 92879 Primary Phone: (951) 258-3976 Primary Contact: Heidi Diaz, Owner Website: Kimkins - Home Just wanted to pass this along - I imagine the more complaints they get, the quicker they would move on an investigation. |

Actually, I think that everytime Tippy posts that those who went too low on calories did so on their own, someone should post a kimmer post telling people to go that low. This could actually start some of the newer members who were not around then, thinking about what is taking place on that site and making them wonder what they paid for.
Wonder when people are going to catch on that there is no "real" plan that anyone lost and maintained their loss on that site. Heidi (Kimmer) certainly did a good job of selling a dream. Quite honestly, if I hadn't of known of her from this site and had seen the WW article, I probably would have joined also. Let's face it, who wouldn't like to lose their weight quickly and effortlessly. Sheryl, who mostly lurks. |

I had my doubts Hour, Minutes ago
I had my doubts about whether or not I would stick with Kimkins after the scandal.... But I must admit that I love love love my body and the feeling is indescribable... Since starting kimkins I have lost over 65 pounds, grown out my hair more, wear better cuter clothes and generally enjoy everything I do more and more each day. Who and how this plan was founded is irrelvant to me... I truly waffled about my thoughts on the issue, but the bottom line is this - I got what I paid for - I LOST WEIGHT!!!!!!! Thank you Kimmer....PS - I am not an idiot, I do think for myself and don't eat ridiculously low amounts of food... Translation please, if there is nothing major to this forum please say nothing major....

Hi everyone! Another lurker here. I've never done kimkins, never signed up. I remember when she was on LCF and thought to myself that I would never be able to do something so restrictive. LOL. But the whole thing makes me so angry because I am trying my hardest to lose weight and live a healthy life. To see someone take advantage of people just like me is infuriating. I'm so appreciative of everyone's efforts in this- thanks for saving people like me from scam artists.
![]() Just introducing myself. ![]() I think that the friendly Atkins people might be interested in knowing that there is someone who is charging money and giving Atkins advice, hm? That's what it looks like is happening- Miss TT is sure dishing it out. Also, in Heidi's fitday, there is one entry that is the suggested calories for bootcamp- and it's a whopping 500 calories. I have a screen shot if needed. The bride sites make my brain hurt. ![]() Keep on truckin' everyone!!! Last edited by Freedom&Light : 10-12-2007 at 06:38 PM.
