I wish I could agree !
That's what I think. She never really cared about the diet, the website, her employees or any of her followers. She cared about all the attention it got her and then she REALLY cared about all the money it made her. She's been caught with her pants down. Everyone knows that her diet was a sham and that she never lost the weight. She didn't even seem to care that she was busted.

They've had to revise the diet to something that's nothing close to the original Kimkins. They've had to spend lots of money sanitizing the site, talking to lawyers and hiring experts that will lend credibility to the new and improved Kimkins. And I think the glut of new memberships she got after the WW article was where the site made most of its money. And she really didn't have much overhead at all back then. Is she getting anywhere near that many new memberships nowadays? I doubt it, but she's got a lot more expenses. So, I don't think Kimkins is a money maker at all anymore. Since it's no longer about Kimmer and it's now costing money to run the site, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if she walked away and never looked back.

While everyone is pecking away at the shell that used to be Kimkins, Kimmer has moved onto her next scam. She's still got to deal with the lawsuit, but that's about it. Any negative press that comes out of the Kimkins camp now isn't going to be about her anymore - she's distanced herself from the whole business and they've distanced themselves from her and her plan. I think that's what she was planning all along.

The PT's told me the same thing. Stretches etc..
They said I weigh too much for the night brace to do any good and my doc says I should avoid shots at all cost ( me, not everyone)
I had a wedge to do stretches on, but it wasn't "all that" KWIM?

Personally I add extra vit C and also some supplements for my blood pressure etc.

Thanks again for your work and the wonderful fact that I can just come and ask questions!
Hahaha -- you can ask any questions you like as long as *she* likes the questions.

And why do so many of these "postings" sound like stooges -- as if Tippy and/or Kimmer are the ones doing the asking and the responding?

Kimkins is no longer sponsoring a Cruise. Sorry!

If they signed up they will probably be going or have cancelled.

(I really like Gary. He's just trying to help.Impressive fit day too. He keeps it low)
Hmmmn, now why would this cruise be cancelled? why would it up and disappear? Do you think she will ask?

Please note: actual posting times have been changed to protect the not so innocent (me)
I thought Regandy said that the cruise is still happenin! they just took the evil Kimkins word out and it's a lowcarb family and friends fun meetup type of thing. I bet they all have a blast, I thought I read they are going to have games and prizes (maybe a red dress is first prize ) I wish I could go, it sounds like good people and good fun!

Working on flexibility of the toes is very important. Massage (or running a tennis ball) in the arch area is great. But the best success I had with everyone I have treated with PF is to use ultrasound therapy, usually a higher frequency and pulsed, coupled with some topical hydrocortisone cream witht eh ultrasound gel. I've had great results with it and to date, knock wood, have yet to have anyone go on to need the injections or surgery.

I did a search with the words "500 calories boot camp"

cant remember if I put bootcamp as 1 word or two.

Re:Kimkins BootCamp?
Boot Camp wasn't that fancy. It's the Bare Bones menu with measured protein plus 30 minutes of some activity. She actually did extra activity on the weekends since she and her husband own a cabin in the hills. Bare Bones Diet B - Eggs 2-3, .5 cup cooke

I'm not an expert. At all. But I had this problem a few years back, and OUCH!

I never did have the brace, but I just stretched it A LOT. It did go away, but I probably had this problem for 6 to 9 months. My stretching was intuitive more than anything else. I figured that since it always hurt more at times that the tendons (?) contracted, like when I slept, and then felt better when I'd stretched it a bit, that that was the key. Again, not an expert. Just some anectdotal advice. Good luck with it, I know it hurts a lot. I'm sure Kimatc will have some good advice - she really seems to know her "medical stuff".

Kimatc? You're up!

Kim

I had the ultrasound in the beginning when there was a lot of scar tissue and the PT taught my DH to do the massage on the heel to keep it broken up, but the insurance won't pay for the ultrasound treatment in this state.
Since then even orthotics don't help.

Now This is interesting, this persons handle is (visitor) with posts being 0

Oprah's Monday Show. 1 Year, 3 Months ago
So, I generally don't watch Oprah, but sometimes something catches my eye, and last week, the news about Monday's show definitely caught my attention.

It must be a repeat, but the show is going to include a male teacher from Maine, who lost *500* lbs over a 3 year span. You can bet he's my new hero.

To lose it by diet and exercise *alone* always gains my respect. I'll be tuning in to find out if he shares any astounding secrets. From what I gathered on the website, he just restricted his caloric intake to about 2000 calories.

On that note, Oprah has a new boot camp (not sure how old it is) but anyway, There's info on her page called "How to Eat". you can find it here:

Oprah's Boot Camp

The first thing I noticed about this diet plan was: a) how similar it was to the GI diet I was quasi-following and b) how similar it really is to Kimkins diet. It's almost like a meshing of the most popular LC/low GI diets out there: atkins (with less fat), kimkins (plus 2 fruit), and GI (but with more focus on lean protein).

So, I guess my question is for Kimmer. When you look at this page, does this look similar to what your maintenance plan would be like?

I have to give Oprah some credit in her ability to just sit back a number of years before really talking about what works for her (besides having unlimited money resources for the finest cooks and personal trainers out there!) LOL

-Chris

And then a couple of people comment and Kimmer chimes in:

Re:Oprah's Monday Show. 1 Year, 3 Months ago
Chris, that is my maintenance diet! Lean protein, a ton of veggies, fruit and yogurt for breakfast.

Not terribly sexy but it works for me, and best of all, I don't have to think about it! Any plan that's automatic is the one for me.

We may be gone, but I'll set my VCR to tape her Monday show. Kudos to the guy for such success!

Boy, she wasn't kidding, she would have to eat "a ton of veggies, fruit and yogurt for breakfast." to maintain that flabby thing hanging on the back side

Thought you might find this quote from a fibro web site interesting. Sounds like, according to her, it is illegal to give specific treatment advice to people over the internet:

Please do not request opinions on specific diagnoses, including test interpretations. It is illegal to give specific treatment advice for individual patients over the Internet. Devin Starlanyl is not in medical practice. We are restricted by law to providing general information such as can be found in a medical text.
