I know that the fat face thing for me has gotten better with thyroid treatment. I always used to skip meals....sometimes ALL day without eating until the evening.

First of all, your loss to date has been great!


Body fat % can be determined in a few ways, some easy, some cheap, some expensive and some in between.

Easiest - Get a scale that measures bodyfat electrically. You calibrate it to your body type and height, it sends a current through your body that you cannot feel, and comes up with a percentage _base_d on resistance. Not the most accurate but pretty good. $34.99 at target!
That is probably the best method if you are over 200lbs.

Once you get down in weight - Skin caliper measurements. You can find a kit for around $10 that includes all you need to take the readings on your own...except a friend....for those hard to reach places. Very accurate. They also do this at health clubs.


Most accurate and expensive - hydrostatic testing. The weigh you under water and above, mostly neked, with all air out of the lungs to determine almost exact %. If you aren't trying out for the olympic team it really isn't necessary.


Bodyfat is really a much better determiner than pure weight.

Muscle takes up much less space than fat pound for pound. As you get close to target listen to what the clothes or bodyfat say and not the scales.

However, given the recent events and his direct involvement then I think he has moved from innocent victim to one who deserves to be scrutinized and he has made himself a target- we didn’t.

Regarding Dr. Mark's personal information, I think the information that was gathered from Kimmer's family was done in a way that was respectful and to my knowledge no one has attempted to make those members of her family in any way responsible for Kimmer's actions. There have been some questions about her son's involvement but Kimmer did that herself because she used him on the domain registry and on the BBB report. I bring this up only to note that, although the information about Kimmer's family was shared, I felt it was not abused and I don't think anyone was saying that they would do any differently with Dr. Mark's personal information, that is publicly available.

I completely agree with you.

I will also add that when Heidi/Kimmer's ex-relatives were contacted they were not only treated with respect, they were not "hounded"; there were only a very few people in contact with them. They were not pushed or nagged or bullied for information, and their wish for limits was respected.

He gained 11# the week after pushing the car, and the doctors went insane. Now he has to weigh once a week and report anything over 3lbs.

Ok the Park like I posted before they sell new Homes in there but it is a lot of resales of older Homes and no rentals everyone owns It is just an average park they do have a Pool, Clubhouse and Tennis Courts. They use to have a security guard at the gate at Night not sure if they still do. I was last in there about 2 months ago when we were driving by and My Mother wanted to stop at a Yard Sale. There are about 400 or so Homes there I think.
The Neighborhood is in a nice safe area I use to live in the next Park over and I walked My Dogs at 3am every night.

TT lives about 50 miles away from here so I am not sure about the name that was found near her. It could be a relative.

Could this be why after my tri where I had gatorade for the first time ever, I was so puffy and bloated for a whole week, I almost went to the Dr. It was really scarey....the bones/tendons etc. completely disappeared on top of my feet ankles, knees and on my hands....just round puffy painful balls.

Since I am the Queen of fast fluid build up with My Lymphedema I can address the fast gains. I have been documented and charted with losing and gaining 40 pounds in a Day.
I can take a water pill right now especially since TOM is here and I can be down over 20 pounds in a couple of hours.
So yes it is possible to go up that much I do it all the time and go down just as fast and that is why I never trust the scale really and only inches LOL

ummmmm.....In relation to kimkins and the things going on over there, what difference does it make if the man lives in a shack or a mansion. Does either one make his advice credible? I realize that now it is just a drive by to see what it looks like, but again what difference in the big picture of kimins does this make?

First of all, congrats on your Tri! That is awesome!! you should be very very very proud of you! I sure am!

yes, you could have had a reaction like that to the drink due to the sugar and sodium content.

I often liken it to saline people get in the hospital - usually causes a lot of bloating in people - I find these types of drinks to be very similar - with a tonne of added sugar to boot!
