VERY expensive but worth every penny to get my life back.

Initial consultation $250.00 (they spent over 2 hours with me about every detail of my health though) and I got that for free since I was referred.

Each treatment is $75.00 and each re-evaluation (once every 8 treatments) is $85.00.

I had to have surgery on my colon, because of two very bad bouts. It will be one year Nov 13th sense my surgery. I've been on this diet sense Sept 8th and I'm starting to have issues with very hard bowel movements. It is really starting the scare me, because I surely don't want to go through the surgery again. The Surgery was awful!!! But then being hospitalized and on IV's for 5 days when I had my first bouts was awful too! So Yes, I'm waiting to hear Dr. Mark's response on this.........

Re:First 20/20 weight loss challenge 13 Hours, 31 Minutes ago
SIDE EFFECTS OF A VERY LOW CALORIE DIET
“The risk of gallbladder disease is greatly increased for individuals following a VLCD. [2]A slowing of one's __meta__bolism can occur as your body adapts so the brain and central nervous system, as well as other bodily systems, will cease to work efficiently. The body will break down fat, but it will also break down muscle and other lean body tissue which can be very dangerous. An imbalance in minerals and electrolytes can occur. Osteoporosis can be another danger, especially for women as can anaemia (a lack of iron in the blood). If taken to extremes, women can find that menstruation (periods) becomes irregular or stops altogether. A lack of serotonin in the brain can lead to clinical depression. The lack of essential nutrients on a very low calorie diet leads to a deterioration in the condition of hair and nails.Another potential side effect is constipation (depends on the fibre content of the diet).[3]”

I quoted this from a post this evening so that I could capture it, and let us see what is being dropped in on us and what I have to say about the content.

I know there has been stuff going on, and I don't take the time to go searching for trouble, but I have some things to point out........"

Re:First 20/20 weight loss challenge 12 Hours, 55 Minutes ago
Point 1...gallbladder disease
Even nutrisystem has been accused of causing gallbladder disease. It isn't just low carb diets that cause gallbladder disease and in nutrisystem's case, I've read (and was there through it at the time) that it wasn't the actual diet, it was the returning to unhealthy eating, or binging during, the diet that made the gallbladder try to excrete more bile after not needing very much, that caused gallstones to try to excrete along with the bile. I always learnred that gallstones aren't a problem until they try to come through the bile duct....so ladies.... think about that one when you are pondering that whole cherry pie with a quart of ice cream. Diets are blamed all the time for things that are a person's own responsibility.

Point 2...people need to eat enough...BUT what is enough?! there is a lot of research coming out about the benefits of eating low calorie diets, and my idea is...if you feel like crap, eat something!

Point 3...If you are eating protein throughout the day, eating veggies, and taking vitamins, how can you be breaking down muscle? this is a genuine question! i want to know! So the person eating only meat and potatoes is causing what to happen....well...besides getting fat, I mean....

Point 4...vitamin and mineral definciencies and resulting conditions: that's what your vitamin and supplements are for...and doctor checkups.....and some common sense!...if you feel like crap, eat something (NOT that @#%@!! cupcake!!!!)

Point 5...my hair and nails are going great guns, thank you very much! I have never trimmed them so often!

Point 6...constipation......eat your veggies....eat your veggies...drink some water.....take a walk (or have some sex)......presto

Point 7..."Kimmer" fraud or not ... I have to admit that I paid my money in good faith because of publicity about KK in a popular magazine. I took my chances , understanding the risks of doing business on the internet, and found a great group of ladies. I will repeat that this is not a way of life for everyone, I truly believe it, but I am one that reduced carbs benefits. I do not intend to be carbless forever. But I will not go back to a hostess twinkie way of life!
Any one of the above points 1-6 can occur for anyone, with any diet. I've read that one of the most malnourished groups on earth are fat people! I hate to sound like a broken record, but IF YOU FEEL LIKE CRAP, EAT SOMETHING! NOT that bowl of sugar pops! jeez!
As for loyalty to "kimmer" or whoever, well, I think that I am quite indifferent to "kimmer" but if any of you need me for anything, you know where to email me!
And PLEASE!!!!!!.....

I guess I am confused on way the ratio of protein % to fat % should be. according to fitday day 1 I had 48% protein and 47 % fat and on day 2 I had 30% protein and 63% fat. I guess I would like to know what I am supposed to aim for."

¡Saludos Chicas!

¡SEGUIREMOS UNIDAS!"

Are we losing our focus here? Originally we were trying to stop Heidi and Kimkins. I think we've done both, although we're still awaiting final proof. Heidi is gone, and Kimkins is a gutted shell of her diet, with only the name remaining. It probably will change as well in the near future.
I know the chase was exciting and ...ok, fascinating. It swallowed up my summer and is devouring my autumn. But I'm really concerned that we might become known as the LCF Vigilantes, who will go after and hunt down ex-mates (not friends, Serenity!) in order to milk them for juicy details that often have little to do with the problem at hand. I say leave Mark's and Tippy's ex's alone. In her favor, Tippy HAS lost a massive amount of weight, she has appeared as her fatter self and her slimmer self in public. She has bragged up and down the boards with verifiable weight loss, no matter what plans she used. I have learned to dislike Tippy through her own snarky words, but at least she's not a fraud. Liar maybe, she definitely has a poor memory and poor spelling skills. So I congratulate you girls on your bloodhound instincts and the common cause that brought us all together in united sisterhood. We learned so much, laughed and were stunned by so many posts. But I think it's time to call a halt on the searching for new dragons to slay, because innocent people can get hurt. That's just how I feel.

Sorry fellas, don't get all bent out of shape. I know you've popped in as well, but overwhelmingly this has been a girl Friday effort.

Well it seems that stress has again caused me to gain weight.

I have been working for the past 2 weeks at getting hired by a company for their service/support manager, but the stress of waiting to hear and trying to figure out if I am good enough for the job has made me eat a bit more. Needless to say I have put on 13 lbs since last week.

CW - 409.0

So I suppose my earlier comment/statement that I would never see the high side of 400 again was a bit exagerated. Oh well all I can do is try to press on."

Ok, I know this diet has been under a lot of critisiam latley.
But I started on june 4th at 244.(was 257 but used another program to 244).I keep my calories at 900-1200.
I stuck to the kimkins plan with the veggies and cheese and low carb yougurt. If I plateau then I went off the diet for 3 days and ate some HEALTHY carbs.I took a vitimin EVERYDAY plus added fish oil pills and extra folic acid and a and b6 and b12..vit c and zinc and iron and magnisum and calcium. It is alot of vitimins and I take them thur the day and not all at once so they will absorb better. Just want to say if you keep it healthy and dont starve and pay attention to your vitimins this program will work for you.

Also I have a friend who did a plateu for 1 month so her doctor gave her phentermine for 1 month only and she broke it and is losing fast as ever.Just please dont listen to the nut cases who eat under 500 calories... You know that is not healthy so please use your head and you will not get sick... also do your research on your vegtables and the foods. Some foods are better than others.Pick ones with iron and potasium .

Hope this helps guys.

Also keep your own pace..its not a race. some lose faster than others, some slower. Do what your body allows you to do.Dont do anything unhealthy.

Whoa! Does she think she's doing kimkins?
Can someone ask this member how can she classify 500 calories a day as a "nut case", thus not blaming the diet because it promotes this calorie intake? Example: Vegetarian plan, boot camp and shake option. All of those are close to 500 calories a day.

seems somebody forgot that it is the total amount of protein not just eating protein that matters when we low carb our body needs glucose from somewhere to make up for the glucose not gotten from carbs since they are only eating proteins they got to have normal protein amounts plus the needed for blood sugar for the body parts without mitochondrias that can never use fats like red blood cells.

I really can't imagine a reputable school hiring an unlicensed mt (I'd be willing to wager most schools there require the license even if it isn't the law yet). . . if I was a student I'd be asking for a refund.
I actually had to register so that I could add my 2Cents ...
I can understand the FL MT association not requiring FL licensure to teach. That is relatively common, as many professional programs will draw in instructors or seminars from other states. Usually the instructor needs to be licensed somewhere though, I have never heard of a completely unlic. person being able to teach a seminar that qualifies for continuing education credits.

That said, this Mark Brinson is violating a whole heap of laws. This is on his website:
Licensed as an Acupuncture Physician by the Florida Department of Health.
Dr. Brinson is considered as a Primary Care Physcian. His license covers a broad range of
therapies and testing. Included are all Manual Medicine and Physical Medicine modalities from
Osteopathy, Chiropractic, Physical Therapy, and Massage therapy. Additionally, all testing and
imaging (xray, mri, ct scan, bloodwork etc), injections, nutrition and addiction counseling as well as
the recomendation of over the counter medications is included.

.

For one thing, he is most certainly not a primary care physician. The US Dept. of Labor and/or the US Dept. of Education only recognize 3 types of providers as primary care physicians: MD's, DO's, and DC's. The fact that Dr MarkyMark claims on his website that he uses chiropractic and osteopathic manipulation, is a direct violation of state law, in fact, if he were reported to the medical board, he could be charged with practicing medicine and practicing chiropratic without a license. He could also be charged with performing physical therapy without a license. As a chiropractor, I am unaware that his license allows him to perform radiographic studies, ct scans, mri's, perform injections, etc.

Either this guy is a complete wackjob, or someone has highjacked his identity to continue the KK hoax.

If I advertised half of the things that this fellow has written on his website, I'd lose my license by the end the the day.

I thought gallbladder disease was caused primarily by lack of dietary fat (causing the gallbladder to go 'dormant' for lack of a better term)?

Gibster, thank-you for mentioning hypothyroidism as a possibility whenever cold intolerance is being discussed, especially in patients who have been following a restricted diet for some time. Easy enough to have checked out.
Kind regards, WL

Another key symptom is bulging of the eyes......the list can go on and on.

One important thing to tell your physician when you get any lab work done is that you are on a restrictive diet.
Once you have lost the weight and get on a maintanence program you body will have a little "settling out" to do. Remember, for some of you, you were carrying and extra PERSON around almost. All of your organs had to work twice as hard. Now they are learning to adjust to the new you.
Hopefully you can all find a physician that has an open mind and can work with you to achieve you goal of HEALTH, WELLNESS and weight!
Dr.Mark
Well, I guess the Doc knows best, huh? As long as you only have one symptom...........

Wasn't she driving some sort of dark sedan in the KTLA video? I can't load it on this computer, but can anyone make out what kind of car she is driving now?

I have to agree with you, this whole kimkins experience has swallowed up to much of my time. I also believe that the hunt is over for Kimmer; the duckies have done their job and got the dirt on Kimmer. Hopefully people who are looking into a LC woe will do their research first before choosing any diet/WOE and make a sound decision.

I do thank everyone for helping me because when I started Kimkins it was on this site that I found it and the fascination thread had just started. I did not do Kimkins for very long thankfully!

Hey guys! I need a screen shot of the previous "Meet the Team" that had Vanessa on it. Does anyone have this? Also a screen shot of the front page w/ the red dress would be great. Need it as soon as possible. If you've got this could you please send me a PM? Thanks!!!
