Rer. Mark - About Constipation 13 Hours, 18 Minutes ago
Running out the door this early am but let me get you started with a thought.

Of the food that you eat less than 20% makes up your stool (poop). The rest is composed of healthy bacteria and what they produce.

Reduced volume in = reduced volume out
Reduced sugars and simple carbs = reduced volume out

I reduction in stool size could be normal

That being said, it is important to have a bowel movement at least once a day if you are eating every day.

This is a big topic, that has multiple causes that are different for different genders.
I will continue with this thread later today.

Dr. Mark

No come on! Who eats everyday?

I don't think the Fitness Guru and the Doc are the same person. FG hasn't made any spelling errors that I can see -- in 2 whole posts.

Re: Does anyone else have ADD/ADHD? 1 Hour, 16 Minutes ago
Supplements here, like with anything else, should be used on KISS method (keep it simple silly)

Start with the basics I mentioned and give it two weeks. Note how things have changed and what needs more attention.

The difficulty in doing things the natural way is that it takes longer (between 1 day and 2 weeks) to see results.

The positive is that the results grow with time as your body becomes more nourished.

The problem with meds is that they will all, eventually, create side effects. These side effects are typically treated with another medication and on and on and on.

RX medications have their place. Most as temporary patches while you identify and fix whatever the problem in your life is that is causing the primary dis - ease.

Yes, I said problem in your life. Don't always look to nutrition. Make sure that the stresses in your life are not so great that they are causing the trouble.

Dr. Mark

Artificial Sweeteners really are not the best things in the world for you but you sometimes have to take into account dose.

Most things are dose related whether you are talking about a medication, poison or a food additive (some call them poisons!)

If you are having one dose per day along with lots of water and healthy food, you may not have a problem.
If you are having multiple doses, have compromised health, or are a child, this could lead to all sorts of "dis - ease"

If you want to try a natural sweetener Stevia is a good substitute...beware though, the stuff is really, really, sweet...50 to 100 times that of sugar.
Using natural fruit juices to flavor (especially tea) or even fructose (crystal fruit sugar) are good sources as well.

Remember what I said about the kiddies though. Get them eating as close to nature as possible.

Dr. Mark

I'm gonna get me some fructose and fruit juice. This diet is GREAT!!!

I know some of you already posted this.. but usually doctors dont misspell words like 'article' (spelled as artical).. but someone we know does.

also typing the word "strick" rather than the correct word "strict" is something I have seen southerners do.. not meant to be offensive in saying that! it's just something i've noticed.. but it's not correct and a doctor would know that, I believe. also the word is "adhere".. also, it's "absorption" with a p not a b.

you know.. it's OK to be less than stellar in spelling and grammar.. Im not picking on people for that.. but something is wrong here.

ETA; has anyone tried to google the phrases in his posts to see if they were posted elsewhere on the internet?

Um what?!?! I've had ADD my whole life and have tried many things and guess what Dr, Marky mark....the RX meds help the best. Sorry if this isn't the general idea of most, but for me, the ONLY way I can focus on one thing at a time is if I'm on my meds. If I am not on my meds, I will ATTEMPT to do 1000000 things at once and not one thing gets done. SO you think if I just limit sugar (guess what I've never liked sweets until recently um...now what) and rest, I'll get over this pesky ADD? Wow where were you years ago?!:!?! Ugh! I hope to god no one takes his advice. I mean ADD won't bother you at all if you have a job that you don't have to focus on but you try doing 8 mortgage loans at a time and see how far you'll get by limiting your sugar. Meh!

First, he is not a real doctor. Secondly, I don't think 4 years in a school run by Chinese improves your English writing skills much. But I agree, the only one I have seen typing "artical" is Tippy.

A quick suggestion that members post each question as a separate thread with the "subject" then other members can look up answers quickly for themselves, too!

Oh, so I see, post them separately so other members look it up, give answers, and maybe there will be less work for FG

FG has not yet posted his online schedule. On top of that I think the Doctor is getting a whole bunch more attention.

I wonder if FG is male or female? I would kill to see the pic of the F lady as fitness guru's avitar

Hello everyone. Thank you for all the warm welcomes.

Weight....That is a good question.

My highschool years filled with dozens of triathlons and other competitive sports saw me with too little weight. - 6'3 165lbs.

Not a pretty sight.

Years in the Army and Bodybuilding (strickly for fun and to correct postural problems) led me to 220lbs. - Lookin good..

The past 10 years have been interesting.

I have stayed between 190 and 200 lbs but WHAT A DIFFERENCE BODYFAT MAKES.

A few years back, during a bad relationship I was 200lbs, Bodyfat in the high 20%'s and looked AWFUL. If I can resurrect a pic I will post it.

For the past two years I have stayed active. Adheared to a not so strick high protein diet, and dropped bodyfat steadily. Only core exercises at home.

Basically, I feel I have to walk the walk to talk the talk. I stay fit, take my supplements, balance my life, and try to fill it with love.

Today 6'3 200lbs Probably around 14-16% bodyfat.

Here is what I will do. I will take a few before pictures. Measure and Weigh. Get Bodyfat %. And Set a goal.

You guys are working and so will I !

I am going to shoot for around 11% bodyfat and specific girth increases or decreases.

I want you to take something from this story though.....This is a journey AND a destination. I have kept my body goals in site through my entire life. Life comes at you really fast sometimes and it is all you can do to keep up. It isn't all or nothing, it is a process. Enjoy it along the way and know the day will come when you have arrived at that goal. You will be no different the day after that. Surround yourself with the people and experiences that matter today and everyday.

Dr. Mark
Uhmm if he is planning on doing Kimkins, can someone remind him to get some lean muscle tissue measurements taken to, just for posterity, he may want to look back at what he lost one day.
