I think some of those admin's don't get paid. They just like to help.
And if Heidi sold the business then she is no longer paying them. Someone paid her for the site. It is possible too that the company was split some how and she is not the official owner, but has some stock. The kimkins brand was trademarked, so the name alone has a value. |

Dr. Mark IS Dr. Mark T. Brinson
I just received this email in response to an inquiry I made yesterday:
Subject: It is me Well, I must say that I never expected such a quick and strange response to my postings on kimkins web site. I only know of Kimkins what I have read from the site itself, as of four days ago. It seems as though it is a carb restrictive plan that is meant to be temporary and allows for unlimited protein....therefore not restricting calories. Seems like a decent plan to me, especially for the morbidly obese. People 50 lbs or more overweight are in a serious, life threatening condition that should be treated with urgency. Is is what I give my patients, no. I do metabolic typing that is much more specific and personal. My role, as I see it, in the Kimkins site is not to defend the site or the diet. It is to help people along the path with questions they may have about side effects and implementing "life" into their new program. Again, I am not aware of the programs past, only the present things I "see" while online. I am in the profession to help as many people as possible and have always been known for that. I have seen Kimkins forum as another means of accomplishing this goal. I assure you, as with everything else in my career, I will look into the diet more extensively. I will look into the integrity of the organization. I will try to descern if "mistakes" have been made and they are moving forward........Basically, if their heart is in the right place (not talking about anatomically here). I appreciate your concerns. Please realize that I too, care for my patients, and the weight loss community with all my being. I just want to help people get the answers and results they deserve. We don't know where Ducky is either. Maybe he took a long needed vacation with his ducklings!!! I'm sure he will be back and raring to go soon..
Let's hope Dr. Mark does his homework...if not, he's not a very thorough dr... Last edited by CarolynF : 10-09-2007 at 10:19 AM. |

Over at the KimkinsDiet.Blogspot.Com site, I notice that they've taken an entire article from dlife.com for their entry.
In blogdom, as long as you link up, most folks are pretty cool about your copying/pasting their work. Attribution rules. However, would this freelance writer, Deanna Glick Freelance Writer and Editor want her work in toto on the blog of a diet that is embroiled in scandal? I do wonder. It's not like they quote part. It's the WHOLE essay from 2/2007 still at Diabetes, Type 1 Diabetes, Type 2 Diabetes - dLife.com dLife TV and calledFood Frugality If I were this writer, I definitely wouldn't want my work on THAT blog. And I'm pretty sure KK violated fair use limits of copyright. Maybe Tippy has been too busy to think of something original for the blog. The Princess![]()

Momentarily out of lurkdom...What I don't understand is why people are still there like nothing is going on. Hello?!? How many unnamed and uncredentialed "experts" does it take to support a fraudulent site anyways? ![]() I am so waiting for news of a KK bust or a broadcast about the continuing investigation. |

He doesn't even have to look into it EXTENSIVELY. He just needs to do a quick GOOGLE, for Pete's sake, and that should answer the question of whether he wants to be associated with a cesspool of bad dietetic advice.
And how does Gatorade fit into a naturopathic/herbalist/etc sort of counsel? Why not a cocktail of fresh vegetable and fruit juices to restore potassium and electrolytes and missing phytonutrients and such. Gatorade? I just can't picture some elderly Chinese sage bending over his patient and suggesting a big, ole cup of Gatorade to fix them right up. One would think. But, it sounds like if things are moving in a positive direction now that he is willing to stay, regardless of the issues of the past? Not very wise, IMHO.
Hopefully he'll see and understand what's been going on, and how it will effect the future of KK, and his own liability should he continue to be an adviser there. |

Contacting him through information posted at kk is not confirmation that he's involved. He needs to be contacted through outside sources.
I'm still waiting to hear if someone has done this? |

If it was from Dr. Mark, perhaps he should be sent links to Ducky's blog, or perhaps Christin's blog. If he is above board, and truly concerned for his patients, he owes it to them to read the controversies before having the "Kimkins" nightmare tarnish his career. Posters here are correct, all he truly needs to do is "Google" Kimkins and read......I am sure he will be embarrassed to be associated with such a scam.
