Wow! I've totally caught up... just in time to go to bed. Now I'll have to start all over tomorrow.

As for "Dr. Mark," I was also willing (hoping) to believe he was duped, but with Easypeas' information, it appears I'm sadly mistaken.

As for the migraine TJ of 12 hours ago, I also have basically daily headaches, and migraines several times per week. It totally sucks. I tried Topomax, and it made me psychotic (only a slight exaggeration; I was quickly cycling through manic and depressive phases and couldn't/didn't sleep for several days straight), tried several other meds, and now I'm on my last chance before Botox. I take Zanaflex, which was supposed to prevent the migraines, but it actually helped cut down on the tension headaches, so that they aren't a constant anymore. That's a great benefit, but I still get the migraines 2-4 times per week. I can kind of function with the headaches, but not with the migraines, so it's not the solution I was hoping for.

I'm at my wit's end, so I'm going to discuss the options mentioned here that I haven't tried with my neuro at my next appointment. Thanks.

to the newbies! I look forward to getting to know you, in and out of these Kimmer threads. We have a whole big site, so wander around and settle in.

You need to at least give the man the time to reply to the voicemails and emails before you crucify him.

If it ends up they are using his name, then you've ruined his reputation before he can even start legal action against kimkins.

I know you all mean well and I'd be angry too if he really is handing out "drink gatorade" as a reaction to a medical question. But if it's the admins, then give the man at least the courtesy of a day to reply.

Sorry, you know I'm 100% behind you guys, it just seems you need to pull back a little in this case.
Ditto. If someone is using his identity, then the PM asking him the specific question would have gone to the person using his identity and been answered by the person using his identity. Again, we don't KNOW that it is this Dr. Mark that is posting over there.

He/or someone posted a response this morning to the constipation question:

here it is:

Running out the door this early am but let me get you started with a thought.Of the food that you eat less than 20% makes up your stool (poop). The rest is composed of healthy bacteria and what they produce.Reduced volume in = reduced volume outReduced sugars and simple carbs = reduced volume outI reduction in stool size could be normalThat being said, it is important to have a bowel movement at least once a day if you are eating every day. This is a big topic, that has multiple causes that are different for different genders.I will continue with this thread later today.Dr. Mark

So...where IS Ducky?!!! Do they really not know about the Leysa picture? Is anyone in contact with them? I just think it's a bummer that someone who's always been SO on top of this saga wasn't around last weekend.

Also, What the Flippin-a is it going to take? Wouldn't you think that PI footage, Russian brides for success stories AND The Kimmer's own after picture would do the trick? Not to mention a Class action lawsuit and local news stories in The Kimmer's neighborhood. And, as a side note: I bet SOMEONE in her apt building saw that KTLA story and recognized her! Wouldn't you love to see a neighbor ask her about it? Makes me giggle.

Just a few thoughts I'm having this morning. Which reminds me - I reallllly need to get a life!

Happy day, all!

Kim

Good morning all!! Dang you guys were busy last night!

Several pages back, someone asked about the original Kimkins Diet and someone else posted this:

KIMKINS DIET
The original Kimkins Diet

As much lean protein as desired from the Kimkins Food List
0-20 total carbs per day(no fiber or sugar alcohol subtraction)
0-3 cups List 1 veggies per day OR
0-2 cups List 1 veggies + 0-1 cup List 2 veggies per day
Use minimal fat to make your menu work (careful, calories count!)
No alcohol or low carb products (sugar free candy, energy bars, ice cream, frozen meals)
Your appetite will reduce naturally after 3-5 days
Take a complete multivitamin each day plus other desired supplements

That IS NOT the original Kimkins diet. When she left here and started her own site, the diet was limited to 1 cup of salad type veggies and a .25 cup(as in the size of a jello cup) of cooked veggies. There was no list one or list two of veggies.

When she revamped the site in anticipation of the WW article, the diet changed to include the list someone posted earlier. I noticed it right off the bat but assumed it was to not alert WW as to how drastic the diet really was. If WW had seen the original version, they would have never run that article.

Boogie and the others suffering from migraines, I understand your pain. I, too, have suffered tremendously from migraines, starting at age 16. Mine would often last for 3 days and be very intense. It was horrible. Fortunately, I was not usually nauseated with them. It eventually got to the point that they would switch sides. The ones on the left were the most intense, the ones on the right came with nausea. Then, it got to the point that I had them almost daily, though they were usually very mild. The intense ones came at about the same rate as previously, once or twice a month.

I was finally diagnosed by a neurologist. Mine didn't fit the typical pattern, but they were migraines, nonetheless. He put me on Inderal. It was wonderful in the beginning. I had a migraine right after starting it. It was kind of a weird sensation. I could feel the migraine. I could tell it was really intense, yet it was like most of the pain was blocked. I don't know how else to describe it.

This sounds similar to the Inderal. I was on a long acting type that I took once a day. Unfortunately, it gave me diarrhea. I tried taking it at a different time. My doctor reduced the dose. Didn't help and it wasn't enough to stop the pain. He put me on the regular Inderal spread throughout the day. That worked for a while, but eventually, the migraines returned. You do have to wean yourself off of Inderal, btw.

I also took Imitrex when I actually did get a migraine. A friend told me about feverfew. She told me about a relative that had completely eliminated his migraines by taking it daily. Feverfew is an herb, widely available. I decided to try it. You do have to be careful to make sure it is standardized. One time, I apparently got a bad batch and it was like I wasn't even taking it.

Later, my SIL told me about Vitamin B-2. Now, I was still having the migraines with the feverfew, just not as bad. I started taking the B-2 and that was even better. I finally quit taking the feverfew and now I don't take the B-2, either, just a B-complex with 100mg and a multi that has another 75mg. There is no recommended dosage for the feverfew. On the B-2, the therapeutic dose is 400mg/day.

I don't get headaches all that often these days, though I do have one now. Right side, no nausea. Not that bad. Haven't taken anything. I haven't taken an Imitrex in years. I can take a prescription dose of ibuprofen (a doctor told me to do it, but with OTC stuff) and get rid of them. That was never an option in the past. It didn't faze it. Messes with my stomach big time, though, so I avoid it if at all possible.

Now, I know there are some who are probably wondering just how I got these quotes from the last thread, right? OK. Pay attention now. Go ahead and multi-quote like you normally would, but don't click on the quote button. I purposely waited for the thread to end before doing this so as not to lose them, though I could have said what I did without quoting. Go to the new thread and hit the reply button. At the bottom of the screen where you type your message, you will see a note that you have quotes selected and it will ask if you want to include those in this reply. Tell it yes and voila! Oh, and if you ignore it, they hang around for a while. Not sure how long, but it looks like you can respond to something unrelated, then quote those later.

Honey, I know your special day is coming to a close, but still would like to wish you Hope it's been a good one.

Since I am obviously not going to catch up any time soon, I need to quit procrastinating and go do the CE course that I need or I will not be selling real estate after next month!
I have received GREAT information from so many here and via PM - THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I put it into the Word translator, so the translation was extremely broken English, but the gist of it was not bad, just that there was not much info included in the announcement of site ownership and that she hoped things wouldn't change much, but if they did she shared her personal email addy. Other than that, she said stuff about the dieting going well and hoping she could continue that way for a long time...

I just ran it through Bablefish, and this is what it came up with:

I am at your service, my friends of way. A kiss to all. Nilda "
Probably not particularly accurate (sounds sorta borat-ish ) Anyone here speak spanish and able to give an accurate translation?

Is that part about 10 years saying what I think it says? That Nilda has been doing Kimkins for 10 years? Or does that refer to something else? Because as far as I know, Kimkins hasn't been around quite that long.

Re:what does it take???? 22 Hours, 49 Minutes ago
I got an e-mail update from Kimmer 10/4, which says she is no longer an owner of Kimkins-did you get that, too? Her picture is no longer on the login page, either. I also would like an explanation....

Re:what does it take???? 22 Hours, 40 Minutes ago
I PM'd kimmer twice, emailed once to an admin directly and to another email address I had from a previous kimkins related correspondence and not even a courtesy email back to me to let me know I'm contacting the wrong person or who to contact. It is just frustrating since in our membership we are supposed to have access to the creator of kimkins so i mean, in all reality, if kimmer sold kimkins all our memberships are quite honestly void I'd think. I hope I don't end up banned now. lol. I can only laugh at this point.

Re:what does it take???? 21 Hours, 39 Minutes ago
Hi
Whats the question, maybe someone here can answer it or help with it. I'm sure some long-timers have answers or can help with things. Everyone has always been able to help me - reach out to us and someone will come a running with the answers or can direct you where to go.

Re:what does it take???? 21 Hours, 38 Minutes ago
ArmywifeNC
i am not an admin, but thought I would chime in.... If your needs are diet related as opposed to the business/site related - I'd be glad to help ot encourage you. I have been here longer than the admins (well most) and have almost 70 pounds. I feel I have some knowledge to share if that's the area you need help in. However if it';s kimmer or admin only then I cannot help... Just didn't wancha to feel all alone with your needs.

Re:what does it take???? 21 Hours, 33 Minutes ago
thanks Lori and Tea - it is related to my account though or I surely would have asked. Thank you!

Re:what does it take???? 21 Hours, 28 Minutes ago
You might try tech support. I know that with things as crazy as they have been lately - you may have to give them a couple of days. I have sent PM's and depending on when I sent it (weekend) it took a few days. Hang in there - someone WILL answer. Hey, but if you ever have a question about otherwise - just throw it out there.

have a great day

Re:what does it take???? 18 Hours, 25 Minutes ago
Armywife, I sent you a PM.

That last reply was from Tippy....
So...you pay for advise from Kimmer and have to get the advice from other members? Pay me 59.95 and I'll start giving out advice. It may not be right but it couldn 't be worse than kimmer and that admins have given...and let's not forget Dr Mark.

Wow, just catching up.

ACUPUNCTURE has saved my life and given me back much of what I've missed in the last year - energy, pain-free - everything and it is just disgusting what Kimkin (Heidi) is attempting now.

Nos mantenemos informadas. Por si pasara algo con el site, quiero que tengan mi email personal. his e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
Tengo esa dirección hace como diez años y estoy muy satisfecha con el servicio que me dan, así que espero estar muchos más años con esta dirección. Estoy a la orden, mis amigas de camino.
Un beso a todas.
Nilda"
In a nutshell:

She's happy with the Kimkins program and has done well using it and is thanking her friends for their support.

She is acknowledging she received an email about the change of ownership but it didn't have a lot of information on it.

She'll keep them updated.

This is still on the thinking about kimkins page. Now a confirmed lie:

I'm hypothyroid. Will Kimkins work for me?

You bet! Kimmer created the diet and is severly hypothyroid. In fact, she says if she stops taking her thyroid medication, her TSH level shoots to 128! She lost 198 lbs in 11 months.

She more like gained 198lbs over night.

These new owners need to clean up the mess quickly. They are false advertising.

It's one thing to take over a site and try to fix the problems. It's another to leave advertisements up they know are false. They were sure quick to update the TOS

I speak a bit of Spanish (enough to get the gist of the post). Jeanessa's translation was close enough and that the poster has been "following" the woe for about 10 years and looking forward to more years following kimkins. Mentioned the change of ownership email.
