OK I have gotten Wikipedia to send me a copy of the article as it was at the time of deletion. It was not changed that much from the original expansion. I'm just glad to have a copy of it given the time that went into making it Wiki-worthy, and I have learned my lesson! I will save my own copies from now on!

Anyway I am going thru the Wikipedia procedure to get the article back out there, which begins with a discussion with the admin who removed it. Having gotten the article copy tonight, I have just initiated that discussion.

In order to avoid these hair-trigger deletions in the future, and to address some valid concerns raised by the removing admin, I am going to totally rewrite the article to mirror articles on other diets which are currently active on Wikipedia (Atkins, Nutrisystem, Weight Watchers, etc.). The title will also be changed.

In the interest of full disclosure, I earlier said the problems with the article were "technical" things about link locations and formatting, more than related to content. In fact, the removing admin (who was not listed in the log and I cannot tell you the ridiculousness I had to go thru to identify and contact the removing admin...) had issues with the content. Her concern was that the article was written in the style of an expose' as opposed to a more neutral treatment. She is correct on this, and her feedback is well-taken. She was also concerned about the lack of primary sources - there were some, but not many, about the controversy, which was the main focus of the article.

The way to fix that is to do the rewrite - there are plenty of primary sources out there on the Kimkins Diet. And I anticipate that by the time I complete the rewrite in a few days, there will also be plenty of primary sources on the "controversy" or scam aspect as well!

Just wanted to give a bit of an update.

While I'm here, heartfelt condolences to Kat & anybody else who's grieving the loss of a loved one tonight. I have been to several funerals in the past 2 months, an aunt, and a friend's father. It just hits me like a sucker punch - I am 46, my parents are in their late 70's, so I know the day will come, but it just breaks my heart to think about it.

OK - life calls! Back to it! Can we turn off the lights at some point so there's not so much catching up to do in the morning?

Two, grown-ups and adults don't need to be shielded. Quite the contrary, one sign of a mature mind and spirit is that when confronted with contrarian positions, one can ignore or one can consider or one can debate, but one doesn't need the special chip to protect one from the unpleasantnesses.

This person is, totally in opposition to what is being said, actually ASKING to be protected like a child. Like the V-chips. Only this is the N-chip, nothing negative to Kimmer or Kimkins.

The person is asking to be treated like a minor while claiming to be so grown-up.

And, THREE, of course, he or she totally misses the point that members who differ with him or her have just as equally PAID to be on the website; and, therefore, those with questions and concerns have a right to use the website, even if they don't post according to this particular individual's desires for Kimmer-love conformity. It's like having a tantrum in a sandbox: "Play like I say or go away. You make me feel booboo bad. MY SANDBOX!" Only I doubt the TOS said you couldn't ask questions or vent concerns and had to only play Stepford Dieters in programmed lockstep to the Kimmer and her lackeys.

I believe, though, that we are called to the truth. A tainted tree yields tainted fruit. (I said that at kimkins, and it disappeared very quickly.) Nothing good can come from a venture that originates in deception and greed. Scripture is clear that we are to avoid even the appearance of evil. For me ~ the idea of staying on that board and not posting the truth was, in fact, participating in something evil. Remaining silent while others are being mislead and abused is not the answer. But it may be that those who still remain on the board simply don't know the full extent of everything that has happened.

FMW - I was lurking "over there" and saw your post and the snarky attack on you. It's funny that you were banned, and the vicious attackers are still there. You would think that kind of behavior would be discouraged. They explain it away by saying that, of course, they are just naturally suspicious......My goodness- how does anyone over there manage to stay focused on losing weight? Not the kind of environment I want to be in.

Did you read the line where Becky and Kimmer are discussing Becky's paycheck etc...Here is an excerpt from Becky's blog-

Limping, yes! I was so behind. Don't anyone change the little thing under my picture because I'm sure it'll be true by the end of the day again, but I did the dishes. AND I washed floors, dusted, vacuumed, did laundry, AND washed windows yesterday. I'm still not done. lol
Today is full of chores, in and out of the house. Ugh. I know I'll be 342 pages behind by the time I get to truly sit down and do some reading here.
