Good points Becky. I made some of those points in a post to them tonight. So far nobody has responded and I haven't been banned. What I love is how they are constantly calling US haters, but yet some of their posts to us are the most hateful and vile I've ever seen. It just boggles my mind at their "logic".

Ummmm, they choose to stay even though they've been lied to and know it because the "plan works". Yeah, starving always does. It's like trying to tell your best friend to watch out for the guy who has beaten his last 10 girlfriends only to have them come back and say "but he hasn't done it to ME!". People who think like that are everywhere.

Great find there, Darlene! And what's so amazing is that several of us have scoured both of those sites more than once and didn't find her! Just a warning though ... searching for fakes can be addicting!

Speaking of which, did anyone ever "re"-find the younger version of Marisol? I even looked on a Jessica Alba fan site to see if it was one of her younger "modeling" day pics. Addicting, I tell ya!

Oh, and btw, Darlene ~ WELCOME!

Thank you for the welcome.
I am addicted to searching for the those pictures!
I had to explain to my husband that I wasn't trying to buy a bride.
No, I didn't find any younger versions of Marisol.

Well, I am a strong believer; maybe I can answer this question. I learned about all of this just about a week or two ago when I returned to Kimkins after being gone for a couple months, and I stayed on until I was banned.

When I first logged back into Kimkins, I was immediately attacked by Vandy J because my avitar was a duck (little did I know . . .)

After being pm'ed (I think by Kim) I started reading outside posts and learned as much as I could. I began to post questions ~ resulting in my eventual banishment.

I think that there are believers who value peace and relationship as the highest of virtues and so may be willing to overlook the problems in their pursuit of those virtues. I don't disparage that at all. I did read some of the Christian thread while I was there ~ and those women have developed such close ties; I am sure that the thought of losing those relationships is very painful. I am guessing that they plan to try to protect their small community at kimkins and ride out the storm.

I believe, though, that we are called to the truth. A tainted tree yields tainted fruit. (I said that at kimkins, and it disappeared very quickly.) Nothing good can come from a venture that originates in deception and greed. Scripture is clear that we are to avoid even the appearance of evil. For me ~ the idea of staying on that board and not posting the truth was, in fact, participating in something evil. Remaining silent while others are being mislead and abused is not the answer. But it may be that those who still remain on the board simply don't know the full extent of everything that has happened.

I'm not saying this to scare anyone, but to remind them about the gravity of what can occur. I am also urging anyone who's been on Kimkins and who's had any of the symptoms described by anyone on this thread to see their doctor, document what has happened, and join the class action suit. Don't forget to save the receipts from any co-pays, doctors' fees, prescriptions, parking, income lost as a result of illness, etc. as this should be part of your settlement.
Now you've scared me!!! I developed diverticulitis (the inflamed stage) after a few months on Atkins. Previously, I had had a heavy grain intake and was mostly, well ...loose. (Sorry, TMI). After I cut out the grains, I found I was celiac ... and constipated. To this day I have to keep my magnesium levels up, since I'm intolerant of certain high-fibre supplements. My first attack almost landed me in hospital. I have to watch both magnesium and dairy intake, because dairy also does a number on me. Just thought I'd mention it as not being strictly a Kimkins issue.

Regarding the Wikipedia article

Contrary to what one of the Kimmer-fans posted here yesterday, the deletion of the Kimkins Controversy article from Wikipedia was over technical issues and had nothing to do with the content, which had, in fact, passed review and cleared all the hoops. Being brand new to Wikipedia I was in over my head and unfamiliar with some of their conventions having to do with placement and coding of internal and external links. Their admins are very picky over there, which I totally understand, since they attempt to provide a dynamic, well-researched web encyclopedia that can be edited at any time.

ANYWAY, I hope to have some good news in the next day or so. The content will be restored at least for my access (since I authored the original article and since I have requested the access) and I will have an opportunity to save it and take some time to work on it to meet Wikipedias demanding standards :-)

At last check something was going on with it and things were being moved around internally - I hope to be back soon with good news.

Thanks Mclurky! I ignored that portion of the poster's comment because they appeared to have known everything so how could "little ole me" cast any light on any subject.
But I am glad you are trying your hand at it again.

This is a fabulous post and exactly how I understand it. I've known people who stay in churches even though the pastor was doing drugs, etc..They "liked" the community too much.

My sister nearly died from diverticulitis in 2005. It was SO scary. Her bowel/colon (I'm not sure) ruptured and filled her body cavity with the poisons and waste. She was in the hospital for over 2 weeks while they tried to clean up and rid her body of the infection. Then a month or two later when she was strong enough, she was in the hospital for another week I think it was, while they did surgery for a colon restructuring. It was incredibly scary and the doctor said we came REALLY close to losing her. This is not something to mess with.

I do wish that all of the success stories were true or at least that whoever came up with them was a bit smarter than getting them from a site that was still active (the russian bride thing???). That was pretty dumb, huh? LOL. When I saw the photos at first I thought WOW these people sure are pretty and sure do have GREAT photographers....and it did seem a bit, FAKE. I look at photos with different eyes than most because I was in an industry where people used fake photos for profit A LOT. Anyway...what is not fake is ME ME ME losing 75 pounds and counting....my buddies over in the Christmas Club 100 getting closer and closer to thier goals....and everyone else on here that is getting closer....and all of the people I know in real life that have lost.

Side note: I wonder how many of these pretty Russian Brides are really available for marriage? I wonder how many are fake pics even for THAT site. LOL."
That has Kimmer's writing style ALL over it!

If no one else beats me to it - this is the first bit of truth we can verify. Remember those white stretch pants? Well, between the P.I. photos and the KTLA expose, she expanded her wardrobe. Obviously she felt she needed to. And I also believe her about winning the lottery - because she won't waste her money on tickets and therefore doesn't have to cough up.

Popping in out of lurkdom again to say I just read Becky's point-by-point and Kimmer's response to her. Wow. Just wow.

That woman is just amazing. First of all, the way she writes so you actually believe she HAS foster children. Her knowledge and ability to put up that facade is really unbelievable. Secondly, even if you believe her "I'm not a public person" charade, you'd have to believe that she is totally paranoid!

Wow. Just wow.

I have asked the same question as Regandy of..."Why" do they stay?
It does puzzle those of us who have left Kimkins exactly what is it going to take for the members to decide to leave. But your post was very well said and it does help to understand some of the mindset of those who continue to stay.
If you think that some of the delay in other's leaving is the fact that they are not aware of everything that has happened do you think it benefits then for other members to post information in the forum to get the word out?
I ask because it is met with such hostility one would think it not to be beneficial in many cases and it is frustrating to try to help those who are not willing to be helped in many cases.
Thanks for sharing your viewpoint
