Yep,
No MD.

In 1995 I reached a point in my career where I needed more license and credentials to treat patients the way I wanted and write to the audience I was attracting.
My first choice was D.O. - Doctor of Osteopathy. I found, to my dismay, all of the D.O. shools in the U.S. basically mirror MD programs. In the early 70's the AMA found the D.O. License was as powerful as the MD. They approached all US schools and basically said "change your curriculum or lose your accreditation". Most changed or closed.

MD - Thought about it but did not want to be indoctrinated into the "Drugs and Surgery" model of medicine. Can you blame the MD though? The do internships and residencies in emergency room settings. If I have a knife sticking out of me the last thing I want is some herbs or acupuncture.

DC- Chiropractor - seemed a little too limiting in scope for me.

What I decided upon was Doctor of Oriental Medicine with a License as Acupuncture Physician.
As a primary care physician, my license covers everything except pre_script_ion drugs and surgery. Including, but not limited to, all physical medicine, rehabilitation, internal medicine, acupuncture, imaging and labs, injection of natural substances, nutrition and life_style_ counseling, additionology, herbology and medicinal meal (1000 hours) etc. etc. etc.....

Only problem was I was petrified of needles!! Got over it soon though and love what I do.

In Short
I am not an MD but know both sides of the fence.
My education covered every internal medical category from both eastern and western perspectives.

I hope everyone will take advantage of my 19 years of experience and excellent research skills. I am here for you.

Dr. Mark"
How do you do acupuncture treatment with online patients? Seriously. Not being snarky. I don't get it.

I don't think so. Unless Heidi was way prettier and had different teeth and a helluva lot of hair when she was 20+. The gal in that pic's face and her teeth don't seem to go with the before of Heidis that I've seen.

But then, maybe she just aged really badly.

You misunderstood.. this is the original question, and she asks about the "zebra shirt" not the white one.

OK, colour me , but WAY, WAY back in these threads, didn't someone post that that was an actual pix of Heidi back when she was in her 20's? I thought her son's ex or Hector sort of confirmed it, but the only way for it to be true was that she had just dieted it all off, and this was the 30 seconds before she started gaining it back. Anybody else remember something like this?

Anybody?

Rats.I prolly forgot to take my anti-Kimmer meds again!

Issues I responded to, hmmm, I tried to help those who needed to get into ketosis just to get there, and suggested atkins ONLY TO START. I did have a brief period of snatt, which left on it's own. It seemed to occur when I first engaged in bootcamp, which when others displayed those symptoms, I mentioned to them it should pass. So if it didn't pass for them then they weren't listening.

As far as me telling others the plan was unhealthy, meat and veggies is not unhealthy. Everyone needs to listen to their own body no matter what diet they are on.

I was in and out of there in what seems now like a flash of light. Goes so fast... Moderation is key... definitely would not recommend for long periods of time. Really depends on how much you have to lose.

With proper supplements, I think this diet is better than fasting. I have never fasted myself (I like food too much)
These are the questions I asked:

Quote:
1. Are you aware that it was written that if you tweak the plan at all, you are not doing Kimkins?

2. Did you ever respond to other members who were having issues to tell them that following the plan as written was unhealthy? ex. hair loss, dizziness, extremely low calories, extremely low fat, etc.

3. If not, why?
But in reading your responses you didn't really answer them. Oh you danced around the questions, but you did NOT answer them.

Question 1 was were you aware that KIMMER said if you tweak it's not Kimkins. It doesn't matter what you or I think that you were doing. This is very important because people doing Kimkins with no LC experience took her at her word and did exactly what she said. She said no tweaking and so they didn't tweak, they did the plan as written.

Question 2 had to do with the fact that YOU didn't follow the plan as written because it wasn't right for you (unhealthy, tweaked, listened to your body, whatever you prefer) so when other members had issues, did you share what you were doing? Did you try to help them with supplements, calories, fat, etc?

Question three if you didn't share your knowledge about nutrition with other members, WHY didn't you?

I have a real problem with KKers (and I was one) who feel it is their duty to come to this thread to tell us how they lost all their weight on Kimkins but then say that they really didn't follow the plan exactly because they needed more calories or fat or whatever BUT they will not say so on the KK site. We don't need the info the KK members do!

Yes, meat and vegetables are healthy if eaten correctly. However, EGG WHITES and PAM are not. Do you really and truely know what was going on at that site? I don't think so.

As for your statement that with proper supplements KK is better than fasting, that has been scientifically proven to be WRONG. In fact water fasting is healthier than a VLCD that is not done under the strict supervision of a qualified doctor. A water fast will not produce the ammonia build up that causes so much damage to the body during a VLCD. The study was posted earlier on this very thread and should be easy for you to find if you are interested in fact and not just feelings.

If you want a do over on the questions, feel free. All I ask is that you answer them and not just shovel chit!

I had to have 1200 hours and a State Exam written and practical when I got a manicurist license. 800 online hours to dole out medical advise seems a little slim to me.

honeybee2, thank you for the welcome.

The concern I have is that Kimkins is no longer run or owned by the same party.

You want Heidi blood, not kimkins blood. That diet will change swiftly(it already has begun) and it's focal point will probably shift. I don't give kookie kimmie the credit for my weight loss. I did have to do some of my own work to get there.

Kimkins is to me more about the people in there.

And, aren't all diets some form of starvation? Some are just a slower starvation than others.

Happy Birthday Miss Bee Detective, must be nice to be 21 I do remember those days very vividly. Oh I could be your mama. LOL! I have 2 sons older than you, one is 27 other is 31. Wow I am old! Hope you have a VERY GOOD day and get some much needed REST! Oh, you could use my spa duck for the day!

To all the new comers and kk survivors. You have made a good move to come to the LCF site.

Speaking of head aches: I once again have one, nothing new. This is not a migraine, tension I would guess with all the stress I stay under. I have tried different BP meds and migraine meds. When I get a full blown MIGRAINE I usually have to go and get a knock out shot, which I dont like, I like to remember what has gone on. I WILL SURVIVE!!!!!

Oh man oh man, what tactics will the kimpire come up with next? No telling. I am sure that Dr Mark didnt use his last name because he knows about all the GOOD DETECTIVES we have here and knows they would surely find him out and EXPOSE him too. He is another figment of kimmer or tt's imagination. I used to really (LONG TIME AGO) think that tt had it together, But she has lost it all the way.

tt: no one is jealous of you, so dont try that. And no one has a knife in your back twisting it(the way you pmed to me) You and you alone put a knife in your back, You are the one that created this mess for your self. You were warned to get out of the kimpire, well actually some even begged you to give up your thrown, did u listen? HECK NO!!! You dug your heels in deeper. I guess all those $$$$$$$$$$ signs in your head wouldnt leave you alone. I ask you this, IS money worth selling your soul? Is money worth losing friends that had trust in you? Is money worth seeing others become ill from such a drastic woe? IS money worth knowing that women are losing their hair? And the last question: IS THE MONEY WORTH GOING TO JAIL AND BEING PLACED IN A CELL RIGHT NEXT TO THE FRAUD YOU HELPED KEEP UP THIS SHARADE? Seems the answer to these questions for you is YES! Well, one thing for sure the $$$$$$ wont do you any good in JAIL.

Sorry, all that was just on my mind. You girls truly do ROCK! Nothing is going to get past the LCF detectives that you girls have become. ROCK ON!!!!!

No more laxatives

at KK, colonics are recommended for bouts of constipation. Bolding added by poster

Re:Interstitial Cystitis anyone? 3 Minutes ago
Interstitial Cystitis can be caused by many problems

As you probably know, any bladder symptoms need to be checked out by urine analysis.
Barring infection,

Abdominal surgery can lead to scar tissue which contributes to periodic swelling.
This can be worked on by a qualified massage therapist certified in Visceral Manipulation.

Allergies should be rules out..especially food allergies and sensitivities..

A Clean Colon...people dont like to hear this one but a daily bowel movement is vital. If you have gone through periods of constipation in your life you may want to consider a series of three colonics. They will get you clean and moving and really change the way you _meta_bolize your foods.
Changing your diet the Kimkins way will contribute to less inflammation thoughout the body....a good thing for bladder and joints!

Anyone with personal experience??

You will find so many medical symptoms disappearing on your weight loss journey. Keep it up!

Dr. Mark

I really wish people would get this notion out of their heads! It's apples and oranges. Contrary to what Heidi says, fasting is primarily used for detoxing/healing. Not weight loss. Eating a diet of inadequate calories accomplishes nothing~ the body doesn't 'shut down' digestion and detox~ it breaks down the body's muscles to meet energy needs. It starves. Eating a Kimkins diet is most definitely not 'better than fasting'!!!

Considering Heidi either has never fasted or didn't follow the instructions outlined by the experts, she has no business giving her opinion on the subject.
