So true! I was also in a magazine article. The reporter interviewed me on the phone, but they sent a photographer to take pictures of me. It was very irresponsible of WW not to do that, and they should print a retraction, IMO.

Also, I don't know if anyone has mentioned this or not, but I'm sure that Mary (Cartbabe) is pretty upset about being on the home page of the Kimkins site for the article in People. I happen to know she really regrets ever having mentioned Kimkins to them because she did not lose her weight on Kimkins.

Thanks AllisonB although, I was under the impression he died from not taking insulin..I didn't know there was a horrible hospital accident.

Somewhere, I have her original fitday stuff where she talks about her brother's diabetes. I dunno WHERE..I saved it because back in the day I was desperate to get back down to 115 (my pre kids weight..around 20 years ago now! LOL)....I DID manage to break the stall from 150 and get to 128...but it was a mistake...because I fainted all the time. I fainted in the grocery store..on a fair ride just a couple of years ago..all from lack of nourishment. I thought if SHE could do it..then *I* could do it. I did it all right. I made myself suspectible to every cold and flu that came around due to a lower resistance...by weakening my body. Guess what my weight is now? I am back at 150...at my stall. BUT, I am doing Atkins the right way (again) and if I never hit below 150 again, at least I have a healthy WOL. (way of life)

Julia-you are such a wonderful inspiration. I bought the Kathy Smith Lifting Weights to Lose Weight because you had used it and it worked great for me too! Thanks for the link to WW! I never saw the article. Wonderful!

I hope Cartbabe get KK to take the People magazine cover off their site. Maybe the news crew can interview her too.

The point of this website -- the entire reason it exists -- is to help people lose weight. When there's interference with that intent, we take action. Whether that is banning troublemakers or removing elements that distract from our purpose, we do it.

Personally I don't like negativity on this site. I've said it a thousand times and I still mean it. If anyone is unhappy or disillusioned, there are a ton of other websites to vent your feelings. Or, start an anti-Kimmer blog like the "popular kids". Sorry, bad humor. Everyone is 100% to their opinion. Absolutely. Just take the negative opinions elsewhere.

Those of you who have been members since the website started have seen regular changes to the front page. I think we are on #5 "facelift"? Our graphic guys get bored and every few months they get an urge to make changes. Unfortunately, this change was stopped midway. The brother of our lead graphic person is having open heart surgery and the balance of the design changes have been postponed a few days.

They've got ideas for another front page change a few months from now. It's the nature of the beast.

We are renovating the front page. We needed more space on the top menu bar so some elements were removed. Success stories are still there in photo form on the right side and expanded to show 5 at a time. We'll be adding 3 new success stories this week!

The naysayers would love for me to chat on ... so I won't. We've got some new support resources for members coming up, too! Keep an eye out!

Just want to publicly throw in my two cents about all the controversy swirling around us. I know you would get a lot of flack if you did this, Kimmer, but--I wouldn't care a bit if you took out all the negative stuff. I think the time for reaction to and self-_expression_ regarding all the people leaving, the lawsuit, etc. needs to have run its course. Those of us who are trying to focus on the program keep running into all that "stuff" on just about every thread we turn to. Enough is enough!

Yes, it's odd. Maybe the site members (the ones who haven't been banned yet!) aer watching the KTLA footage, or taking a fwe minutes to compose their thoughts. Or maybe there's some behind-the-scenes machinations where only the non-Negative-Nancy posts are being allowed to filter through. Can it be done technically to have eneryone on mod queue???

Diana - I'm not sure how Mary (Cartbabe) got the People cover, but she told me shortly afterward that she was really upset that they made it sound like she lost the majority of her weight on Kimkins. In fact she did not. She lost it on Atkins and only tried Kimkins briefly when she was struggling with the last few pounds. She said she knew she would not be able to continue with Kimkins because it was so restrictive, so she stopped. OMG!!!! This had me laughing even harder than the video!!!

Graphics professionals are VERY BUSY people. We don't go around changing stuff because we are bored!!! We also have this nasty habit of charging for our services. We have to pay to keep our computers running, our internet connections up, and our software up to date. We don't sit around with nothing better to do than to change a website UNLESS it is our own OR WE ARE PAID TO DO SO and do it AT THE DIRECTION OF THE CUSTOMER!
