heidi looked into the "paid advertisements" options for WW and several other magazines and found them all to be way too expensive at that time to do.

so instead...

a WW mag "reader" contacted WW, asking them to find out more about the "amazing new low carb diet" and then gave them a link to jimmy's blog. through him, they were able to get in touch with "kimmer" who of course acted shocked and flattered to be contacted by them *rollieyes*

did y'all see becky's blog post today where she mentioned that heidi had been working on being featured in "star" magazine?

FF to now. Who is the success story? Who do we(they) look to when maintaining? How do they know it is safe, as there is no one who's done it with no ill effects, and they are all gone! It's crazy scary! I guess there might be a few still there, but the ones I looked up to are ALL GONE! And it was more than just Becky, Deni, and Christin. What about Curlygirl, and ScrappinHottie, and TenaBodena just to name a few. They are ALL GONE!
And the new admins are gruff and scary looking MEN! And they're mean! Nothing like the loving and caring crew from the "glory days".
And THAT is a great and supportive community?!

The way it looks is that the new admins jobs are primarily to hide the negative/anti kk stuff, keep people in line with intimidation, ban those that speak out, and cover up as much as possible. That's NOT a support group for anyone but Heidi. It can't last like that. People aren't going to take it. Eventually, eyes will open and people will see.

one of the posters complaining about melt had said at the end of her post along the lines of "i would have PMd this...if we had any" LOL

AND in a thread where someone was asking for a time frame when the PMs would be back up & said she was looking for customer service--tippy answered and said something like "i have a PM i can't get to as well, please just be patient"---the OP answered with something like "but that doesn't answer my question..."

oy...seems the remaining few are a vocal disgruntled bunch.

I can totally see some of my mother's friends wanting to borrow her computer just to have access to a "miracle diet". If that's the case, the number of folks who paid Heidi their hard-earned cash could be higher than the estimated 40,000. If this has been addressed before I didn't see it.

It's not lasting now. The avatar say so, the signatures, hardly any posts. It just more and more cavernous there.

Now any newbies that just sign up will be able to go back to pp or their cc and hopeful get their money back. Most others aren't as fortunate.

I wonder if Dr. Pascatore is aware the menu in WW was actually more food than the typical kk menu.

Dear KK'ers,

A lot of us who have been with KK for a while have become worried about the folks here who are still eating such low calorie, low-fat and high protein in this particular low-carb WOE. I hope all of you who are remaining on KK are okay. If you are still eating very low calorie and very low fat while doing low-carb, there is risk to it.

Many of us have gone on to higher fat, higher calorie low-carb food plans because we were experiencing very troubling hairloss that started on KK. It takes a while to restore, if it does. Are you having any of this? Be honest. Look in your bathroom mirror with the brightest light on and see if you can see your scalp. Could you before?

I am really worried about people being afraid to leave this WOE because of fear of regaining weight, but even worse, because of fear of food and eating itself! Are you afraid to eat if you feel hungry? It isn't natural. It isn't healthy, and if you lose weight in an unhealthy way, it's NOT necessarily better for you than being obese. You can lose your hair, your pretty smooth fingernails, your skin elasticity, your bone density, and even screw up your _meta_bolism so it can't regulate itself anymore. If you aren't getting enough nutrients, your thinking can become confused, and you are at risk for heart problems due to electrolyte imbalance. This is especially true if you're using laxatives chronically which can cause diarrhea and loss of electrolytes. Just today I read a post by a Newbie who was using Smooth Move tea daily and having leg cramps. Hello! Leg cramps can be caused in part by low electrolytes!

I have tried to be subtle in warning those subsisting on egg whites and shakes, lean chicken and Splenda, and no veggies and virtually no fat. No more. I care about you too much, many of you became good online friends, and I can't let this happen to you without trying one last time to urge you to stop this WOE and begin to eat in a much healthier way. Slowly you can get thin if that is what your health requires. There is no free lunch. There's no easy fast way to lose weight AND STAY HEALTHY without intense medical supervision. Even that carries risk. Slow is best.
