Okay, I just have to get this off my chest. I understand the "kool-aid drinkers" comment now I think. But it still doesn't make sense.
When I started KK, I thought Kimmer/Hidey lost the weight and kept it off, no ill health, etc. A true success story.
FF to now. Who is the success story? Who do we(they) look to when maintaining? How do they know it is safe, as there is no one who's done it with no ill effects, and they are all gone! It's crazy scary! I guess there might be a few still there, but the ones I looked up to are ALL GONE! And it was more than just Becky, Deni, and Christin. What about Curlygirl, and ScrappinHottie, and TenaBodena just to name a few. They are ALL GONE!
And the new admins are gruff and scary looking MEN! And they're mean! Nothing like the loving and caring crew from the "glory days".
And THAT is a great and supportive community?!
I'm so glad I'm no there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And again, another lightbulb moment...I knew that it was HER. I was typing my response when the screen went blank, and the whole thread was deleted.
I wanted so badly to chat with someone, I was livid! And of course I had burned my bridge here. I have since repented and the admins here kindly reinstated my priveleges. So here I am. I am not very outspoken. But I apologize for being so hard-headed, and thinking so badly of everyone here. You have done an awesome job of getting the word out that KK is not a healthy diet. And SHE is just beyond words! I felt sorry for her at first, but no more. This has got to STOP.
Anyway, thanks for listening. And again, I'm sorry for being so judgemental of everyone here. You were right...all along. I'm just glad that I finally came to my senses.

jcrc ~ Curlygirl has her own blog now (eatinglow.com) and several former KKers have registered over there. Since I've been banned, I wondered what happened to ScrappinHottie. I know she was real active in the "Shakers" thread. And "GonnaBeHot", I think was another? She and Deni were handling the Biggest Loser threads when I was there earlier in the summer. I've often wondered if she was still there.

I think Gonna Be Hot just got banned recently. I think they are both at Amy's place. Lots of KK refugees there too.

Dear KK'ers,

A lot of us who have been with KK for a while have become worried about the folks here who are still eating such low calorie, low-fat and high protein in this particular low-carb WOE. I hope all of you who are remaining on KK are okay. If you are still eating very low calorie and very low fat while doing low-carb, there is risk to it.

Many of us have gone on to higher fat, higher calorie low-carb food plans because we were experiencing very troubling hairloss that started on KK. It takes a while to restore, if it does. Are you having any of this? Be honest. Look in your bathroom mirror with the brightest light on and see if you can see your scalp. Could you before?

I am really worried about people being afraid to leave this WOE because of fear of regaining weight, but even worse, because of fear of food and eating itself! Are you afraid to eat if you feel hungry? It isn't natural. It isn't healthy, and if you lose weight in an unhealthy way, it's NOT necessarily better for you than being obese. You can lose your hair, your pretty smooth fingernails, your skin elasticity, your bone density, and even screw up your _meta_bolism so it can't regulate itself anymore. If you aren't getting enough nutrients, your thinking can become confused, and you are at risk for heart problems due to electrolyte imbalance. This is especially true if you're using laxatives chronically which can cause diarrhea and loss of electrolytes. Just today I read a post by a Newbie who was using Smooth Move tea daily and having leg cramps. Hello! Leg cramps can be caused in part by low electrolytes!

I have tried to be subtle in warning those subsisting on egg whites and shakes, lean chicken and Splenda, and no veggies and virtually no fat. No more. I care about you too much, many of you became good online friends, and I can't let this happen to you without trying one last time to urge you to stop this WOE and begin to eat in a much healthier way. Slowly you can get thin if that is what your health requires. There is no free lunch. There's no easy fast way to lose weight AND STAY HEALTHY without intense medical supervision. Even that carries risk. Slow is best.
